Hi, the Kafka story about the man who got away was released under a bunch of different titles, and was also released as a novel called "amerika" (or the man who disappeared etc.) It's unfinished, but it's one of my favourite Kafka stories. Definitely worth checking out!
Oh and Patrick Süskind is one of my favourites as well! Check out "The pigeon" if you want to read more by him :)

@@aquariuslibrarian i had no clue! thank you!! i will look into picking up amerika then!! kafka is so brilliant, im enamored by his writing. have you read letters to milena? i was looking into that too. and patrick suskind, from what i’ve read in perfume, is an amazing author . what is the pigeon about?

@bugatheart i havent rad the letters to milena yet, but i want to read them very soon, alongside his biography by max brod. And the Pigeon is about a guy who structured and organized his whole life in almost an autistic manner and then get completely thrown off by a pigeon. I's a short novella, you can read it in a day :)

@bugatheartNP hehe and good phew I always feel weird leaving long comments lke that so glad , also that’s funni i found a super big minion like two years ago at goodwill and wondering where i put it but it was all brown and stinky so probs for the best lools, This is long too but i’m very interested in ur suggestion about the fall by camùs as well like i was always interested in reading him and i think this cemented it as a choice over kafka/freud, also also sry for yapping but i just happened to see IN THE WILD heart at my local bookstore a few months ago and picked it up after thinking i’d love stream of consciousness stuff but after she was always like “drip drip drip@ i was like noo. (very disappointed :c ) but respect the 3 stars cause i may have not been in the right mindset too now that i think abt it. :3
and these words are blowing my brain like hubris woah woahh smartypants no being insecure about ur articulateness

@@jackr4980 before i get into the essay about the fall... i do get why w "in the wild heart" its lowk w such a specific audience that'll get it ... i think im also influenced by how highly revered i've seen the book be. but i still want to give it another chance... anyways, the fall by albert camus is wow... beautiful. seriously. i think my biggest love w it was the fact it kind of made me face my hypocrisy with a lot of my behaviors. i did mention this in the video i believe but ill be a bit more comprehensive about it. it's touching upon all these things people think and feel and experience, and it's dishonest if they havent LOL. one quote that i really liked was, "You have had a chance to observe tha I spare nothing, and as for you, I know that you agree in thought." HITS MUCH HARDER WHEN READING IT. SRS. i really enjoyed thinking about the truth of people behind a facade of generosity that every1 upholds, esp because everyone wishes to be perceived well so there's always attempts of control in regards to one's outward persona and behaviors. w this book, there were a lot of conversations about love, how this guy perceives love as a means to serve his ego essentially. it also touched upon some truths of death, the sentiment of death to see who cares and acknowledges it , but it truly being useless because the deceased cant even witness it. im kind of rambling on about everything i loved about this book, but these were some of the themes and mentioned things in the book that truly stood out tome. much love! sorry for the essay LOL

You should give Kafka on the Shore a try! Murakami is a bit of a controversial author, in that people either love him or hate him.

@@savyasachidixit7251 oh totally, murakami is loved or hated. i think fortunately i’ve enjoyed some of his work so far! im about 40% into 1Q84, which is def more dense … paperback is like over 1000 pages? but i am enjoying iy so i imagine i’ll pick up kafka on the shore eventually ^_^ thanj you for the rec!
