George the body man should consider getting his own TH-cam channel. He's a natural! He did the impossible with Black Diamond and I can already tell that it is going to be a show winner.

It’s hard to explain how expensive it is to have a car body and painted this way tell you see it done. My car has been done this way, it was in way better shape metal wise but still has to go though this same process and it is EXPENSIVE! But i feel well worth it. Really good body and paint shops won’t do it unless they do it right because it has there name and reputation on the car. This guy is the real deal how he talks and the work and love going into this charger, good man!

Dad bought my Mom a 1964 Galaxie 500XL, 390, automatic and black with a red interior in 1969. She would take it to the corner store and back and that was about it. The resonators would rot out because of the moisture never drying up because she never drove it far enough to evaporate it. Dad was smart enough to have gone to Midas Muffler and get there gold lifetime system. They about begged him not to bring it up there after the third set of resonators replaced. The car was also terrible to drive in the winter and saw very little winter use. Miss that car.

Someone must have swapped the two barrel intake because all 352's were 4 barrel and dual exhaust in 1964. 1963 had the 2 barrel with single exhaust 352, my grandparents had one of those for many years and the car still looked new when they sold it in the 80's. I've got two of these cars and I'm lucky mine are both rust free.

Nick, this is Al from Montana. As far as I can remember, there were 3 flavors of the 390 MEL Fords with a 4 barrel carb from the factory. The most numerous was the 300 hp. There was also a 330 and a 375. You can check with Mr. Ford (Manny) but I think I am correct. Which is in the Black 2 door? It would seem if someone was taking the time to order a factory 4 speed it would have a hotter 390 and a street performance gear.

I’ve been doing frame repair paint and body combination for over 30 years. Most shops would even take that job on just because of it is so time-consuming, drilling spot weld, pulling panels, cutting them apart welding them up doing the metal work on them and then re-welding them and bring them right back up People don’t understand the amount of time time and materials. That’s a very expensive job here in the states like I said I’ve done it for 32 years. I’m still doing it in between being treated for terminal cancer. It’s the only thing that keeps me going is like he said looking at it when you start looking at it when it’s ready to go into the booth for paint there’s just not a feeling like it in the worldto know that you brought that vehicle back beautiful work guys

Mopar guy here, but let me tell you, FE Fords are the cats ass. I had a 73 F250 with a 390 that I cobbled together with little money. A 410 Mercury block w/ 390 crank and rods, .030" over. A used Crane Fireball cam (specs, unknown) '68 390 heads, Mallory dual-point distributor ($25 at a swap-meet in AZ), a TINY little Edelbrock 600 cfm leftover from my 318 Barracuda (RIP) and a really nice set of headers (brand unknown, but thick flanges) that were in the truck when I bought it, without engine. I scrounged most of the parts but it ran like dream and had loads of power. It sounded great! If it had a properly sized carb it probably would have ran even better. Love those engines.
Thanks for this great upload, Nick!

Every week Nick's Garage progresses and a 64 Galaxie with a 390 sure impresses Nick is taking her to an exhaust specialist he knows cuz Nick takes no guesses The open manifolds make a sonnerous boom Once the pipes are put on he'll be able to more sedately zoom The engine is so smooth and with a sealed exhaust performance can only improve It's been a while since we've seen Stephane's car Looking at it now it's come a long way and you can see how far George has been cutting out the rot replacing and aligning panels and now it's tip top He's ready to give the polyeurathane filler a shot Waow it looks great you can see George and his teams experience in the result make no mistake With the rhyme I'm sorry cuz this week I was late There's been a bereavement but I ain't gonna cast a shadow over Nick's Garage achievement The dream cars keep coming fast At Nick's Garage they build em to last You can trust them because they are capable of any automotive task Thanks Nick George and George At Nick's Garage on muscle cars you can gorge

What we know , and what needs to be thought about is just how
exceptional this charger is at this point . George and his crew have really done a remarkable transformation . We should remember what this car was when Stephan brought it to Nick .
While we all have been waiting to see this here today in the video , one must remember that it would take years ...for most of us to even get a halfway built car givin the terrible condition car used to be in . I mean look at stephans charger so far ...Wow just an exceptional job so far .
Final thought is that these cars were done with jigs on the assembly line and here it has been done by craftsman hands.

Yes Nick the same fender badges for 390's were factory installed if the Galaxie came equipped with that engine.
