- Welcome to this video, join me as I go over my thoughts / ramblings on the current Xbox 360 game market, and where its heading! Hope it makes sense!
Essentially, I think taking a cautious approach to buying certain Xbox 360 games now, as theres a lot of noise about major price increases, but will those big increases actually happen?

I think you've made several good points mate, and I like your more measured message. No doubt there will always be games that keep going up, and for some games it is the right time to buy. But a lot of games experience blips because of frenzied demand, tv shows, TH-cam recommendations etc. Look how expensive some of the fallout games have become. Once the hysteria has worn off they'll probably come down again.
Yeah, its hard to predict really, over here it's effectively down to those in charge at cex as our entire retro/gaming market is led by them seemingly... thanks for watching mate!
Do you think lolly pop chainsaw price will drop when the remake gets released it killed stubbs the zombie xbox price when that got a remake 🤔
@kraftye3714 I'd say it will definitely lower the demand for the 360/ps3 versions eventually, if trade in prices for those versions stay fairly high and people start to trade it in more often, stock will increase, so you'd think price would lower eventually.
Like you say those are great games but very common titles on the 360 so hence they're not going up in value.. more uncommon stuff is still fluctuating regularly.. I checked Splatterhouse again yesterday and that's now upto £50 and Lollipop Chainsaw upto £35.. and my copy of Spec Ops The Line is down to £20 .. so swings and roundabouts still..

Possibly, yes. But I'm not overly convinced that prices will rocket the way some people are saying, that's kind of what I was trying ti get across (badly, admittedly), I do think this assumption that they are going to, is driving up the demand for 360 games, before the eshop has even closed. It's an odd time, but interesting! Thanks for watching mate!
I think 360 games will temporarily go high with everyone jumping on the bandwagon increasing demand, however give it a year maybe two and things calm down lowering prices
@@pixelpaul_pxpRight now i feel much of the price rises are down to people just trying to make a profit by buying multiple copies. Eventually 80% of the games should fall in price again. While actual low print/desirable games remain high in value
We’ve arguably already seen this with spec ops the line which should only continue to fall more again in the coming months.
@@alocalgamer3464 on the first point, sadly yes, and the second point completely agree, fingers crossed..
I think the wii u is a bad example to compare. A lot of those games got re released on the switch with added features or dlc making the wii u versions less desirable, mk 8 for example. A lot of the wii u exclusives or niche games have went up quite a bit.
Very true, but you could say possibly say the same about 360 and ps3 games having been remastered/remade, some a few times over. It's going to be an interesting few weeks for collectors of that generation of games.. thanks for watching mate!
Great video matey. My personal opinion is that the store closing will have no effect on prices, and nobody really downloads 360 games anyway (unless on sale via the Series X market).
I do think prices will still rise though and it's because people are idiots and just start panic buying if online markets or TH-cam personalities say they should.
Emulation 😂
I never thought I'd ever, ever say it, but emulation is becoming more and more appealing at the moment, certainly for the likes of 360. It amazes me though some of the games which do rise drastically though, as some are painfully average! I’ve got 17 copies of blue dragon I was buying them up when they were £2-3 each I’ll probably see how it performs and flip them later. I think I’ve got 10 copies of lost odyssey too. If I saw them out anywhere I just picked them up.
I think both of those are potential future higher value games, so could be wise purchases!
It's shocking how cheap resident evil is on the 360 in comparison to ps5 most of the mainline games less than 20 or get the remastered for 400 pound I know my choice
Very true, in a lot of cases, 360 still has the cheaper options compared to the PS3, how long that lasts.. we'll see I guess!
Ps3 games Didn't go up when Online server went down people this talking rubbish I no this as have a full set ps3 games

@trophyking6311 ah! I get you now, sorry bud. But yes, seems to be a mad panic over this and I cant help it's that which is driving up prices higher than from the normal increases. We'll see anyway, I could very well be wrong! 😆
PS3 did increase with the initial announcement in the US, but quickly sank when the shutdown was delayed. I bet that with the meme that is closing stores and the additional focus on physical, the retro market will fire up sales of PS3 just like the 360, though spikes are short-lived.
