    When I watch these live chats, there is always someone wanting you to test some engine you don’t have. What if you started a Gofundme for the popular requests? You could make small ones for a junkyard big bang 351w and big ones for Godzilla tests. When someone brings up Godzilla, you point them to the fundme site. That 200mph Mustang article was cool. Motor week has the video up on their TH-cam channel. It seems like it would be easier to get there with a turbo today.

      He's done so many tests that most of what people ask for have been accomplished over the years. People are lazy though and don't care to look. They just want links and new videos.

    In my build I'm opting for a Motec ECU as it has the best integration with the NISSAN TCM and they have been installed in Saudi on all those crazy Patrol builds they do.. Adding boost I want absolute tunability and control of all items, fans, etc... I will convert from MAF to MAP and include a wide band lambda and flex fuel and it will also manage the electronic waste gate.

    To answer your question about the truck norris cam, it will run, but not right, and it will not fully adapt. The lsa is just to tight on those types of cams to properly run on a stock tune. There are cams out there that are designed to run on stock tuning, but they will not make big hp changes.
    Currently I'm practicing tuning on my 99 Tahoe with the L31 5.7l(if I mess it up tuning, who cares, I have a LQ9 waiting to go in it), it is all stock except for a marine intake swap, 75mm TB, and open muffler, and you wouldn't think just an intake change to such a similar intake would make much of a change, but I've had to add 5-6% of fuel to the VE table and it's still not enough.

    I say factory. Ive done some transmission tuning like move the shift firmness and required time to shift from tow/haul tables to the normal tables and it is like a shift kit. Also, your truck being an 02 can run the factory suv flex fuel operating system and with a factory ethanol sensor, pump, injector swap and fpr for the flex suv you can run e85. I use LSDROID to flash computers and dabble with tunerpro both are free programs. Just 75 bucks for the bluetooth adapter for the lsdroid app. Not as complete as hp tuners. But for what I do i dont need to datalog

    "Sequential doesn't work past a certain RPM." Sure it does, there'd just be overlap. Injectors don't need to be off while others are own. That's more of a specific ECU limitation.

    I’m running a Holley Terminator X Max on my LS3 416 stroker . I have this setup in my 81 Turbo Trans Am . I’m running a cable operated Nick William’s 102mm throttle body. I’m also running a 4L70E transmission controlled by the Holley. FYI talking transmissions.. the 4L70E is a much stronger unit then the 4L60E. Same casing but 5 planetary input and output gears and hardened sun basket.

    Deleted afm on 07 tahoe..truck norris and springs to match...5.3...w 35 lb injectors..have to get ecu and trans ecu tuned to match new stuff...it fired right up after upgraded work....but only 4 cylinders fire....250$ to get both tuned....holly is big money I don't have .....thx

    I’m a sports car racer. Just getting into boost E85.
    But into a V12. The stock ECU has no ability to adjust. Replacing the Lucas with something.

    Richard I'm wondering if u can show a holley tune for a n/a small block chevy 23degree that can support 600hp. I know this is specific. Cam near 240/244@50 112lsa 600lift.

      I don't have tunes-I just provide the required timing and AF that makes the most (safe) power

    For me, the late model GM stuff efi system is very tunable. The 30 to 40 year old stuff, like the turbo Dodges, TPI or LT1 or Fox body cars their computers/systems were harder to tune, slower to respond and just less capable. I seem to remember you saying once there was no uhhh power/economy to be found switching from batch fire to sequential? Pure memory here, and it is suspect. I'm still curious though?

    • @richardholdener1727

      there was no power-economy might be possible-depends on how bad things were

    Someone let me know what my options are for tuning a 2003 Lincoln Aviator. I've heard rumors that a SCT4 may work but the company allegedly doesn't "support" the Aviator specifically.
    Is the next option going aftermarket ecu and call it a wrap?

    • @daviddaniels9208
      @daviddaniels9208 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Me too. Thinking of running a turbo on my 04. 600+ hp. Wondering what the options are in an oddball combination like this.

    • @Prestiged_peck
      @Prestiged_peck ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The big issue with going aftermarket is the IMRC system, because the aviator uses a stepper motor in IMRC which most aftermarket PCM's can't deal with.

    • @daviddaniels9208
      @daviddaniels9208 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking of running the transmission and IMRC of the factory computer and running the ignition and fuel injectors off another computer but wonder if there is a way to use the factory computer for all.

    • @daviddaniels9208
      @daviddaniels9208 ปีที่แล้ว

      So maybe piggy back off old computer

    • @daviddaniels9208
      @daviddaniels9208 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have also seen where guys use a vacuum switch to operate IMRC plates or a tachometer with a shift light set to rpm opening point and disconnect light run wire to IMRC motor. But don't do a bad thing like Richard Holdener did and tie it off with wires.🤣 FR500 intake.

    The sequence required to flash a factory ecu seems to be tedious and time consuming with weird key on/off/on.... off... on....
    Off,
    On- seems kinda shady

  • @Whosurdaddy71

    Factory GM. It’s cheap

    • @bobbywalter5320
      @bobbywalter5320 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For sure....using the 02 truck column and interior wiring you can vats unlock those processors by unplugging the module while the pcm is active. This combined with the 75 dollar droid setup in one of the posts above gets most typical street systems running well. That said...compared to the Holley terminator x...is hard to believe. I have hp tuners too....and the Holley for the average bear and it's overall ease of use is incredible. The bang for buck is easily justified.

      @@THEFERMANATOR. That is how I understood it too....but...I have 5 open unless they never bothered to let me know.. these are all Truck computers 01 and older. I know they would not start until I reset them. I still have one left in the garage. Unless you are referring to an actual battery reset with the scan tool.... These are just 3 wire fire.
