That is so cool. I love military fly-overs. I'm always amazed at how perfectly timed they are too, flying over exactly at the end of the National Anthem.
One of the most impressive things I've ever seen in my life is the C17 demo at an airshow in homestead air base.. that thing did a max power take off in a distance so small that it left everyone speechless.. not only that but the damn thing went nearly vertical and climbed so quick you would of thought it was the space shuttle.. then it landed in such a short distance with the reverse thrusters it was absolutely insane to see something that big pulling off those maneuvers.. to me the C17 stole the show from the Thunderbirds, the Mustang, the Corsair, the B2, the F15's, F18.. pretty much everything.
I'm near the Air Force Reserve airbase outside Pittsburgh. C-17s fly over a lot on landing approach, so they're pretty low. Impressive aircraft. KC-135s too.
My son spent 17 years in the AF. Four of those years with the Thunderbirds. That is the plane they use to transport crew and equipment. He still thinks seeing those big planes land and take off is awesome.
The Air Force is so damn good at hitting a moving target... The Star Spangle Banner is supposed to be like 1m10s to 1m25s long, but often times singers go way longer.. So they can guess at about what time they need to arrive, but they have to have it relayed to them so they can slow down or speed up accordingly.... AIR POWER!
Toss a MOAB out the back, and you got yourself a makeshift bomber... P.S. Funny that you are calling them out when it was "them" who included C-17 in the video title...
Recently had a C-17 Globemaster and 2 Hornets fly over school in formation. This only happens because every fortnight RAAF Richmond (RAAF Base near my area) Does a military exercise and the flight path is other our school balconies. Amazing planes.
If I'm not mistaken the fly over by the C-17 is from March Air Reserve Base in Moreno Valley Ca. in Riverside County Ca. which is about 45 min. to an hour away from the BIG A. Coming from someone who lived in Riverside Ca. and went to Angel games

It's videos like this that make me proud to be an American. Look, the players are NOT kneeling and they're actually putting their hats/hands over their hearts...gotta love baseball!!!

I loved how the C-17 pilot went full flaps, slowed to a crawl, and let the fans hear just how awesome that monster sounds. Only thing that sounds better is a C-5 galaxy, pre-engine upgrades, and the Starfighter.
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful, both the favorite Anthem & Globemaster the 3rd. On the Anthem & why was it beautiful, I mentioned, simply cuz It was sung the way It shud, with dignity, honor & pride,w/o the kinda jazzy-jivy crap, that a slew of singers (even a good handful of White singers, nowadays also fancy doing likewise) so liked to sing It in the way how African-American peoples do It with much twisting on certain parts or words of this otherwise still an enduring wonderful song.
In order to fly over Angel Stadium at the end of the National Anthem on April 6th they had to take off on April 5th. And the stadium folks are telling the singer to stretch it out!

B1B Rockwell International designed. C-17 McDonnell Douglas design. Boeing gets name title credit for both after the buy outs. I worked both programs. Aerospace was something in So. Cal. in it`s day. Gone.
You know how negligible the cost is in the grand scheme of things? Honestly, they do training and drills all the time. This as just as good of a training practice as flying over the desert for hours.
Imagine that’s an actual bomber and you are seeing the actual bombing run on your base...does the Prometheus School of Running come into play or would it matter? I’ll never forget the accounts of survivors of B52 bombing runs that said the sound of the explosions alone were enough to make battle hardened men cry. The Pentagon said one bomb run from a B52 is a mile wide and a mile and a half long; and that they were flying three abreast. That’s insane to imagine.
Always so impressive to hear these machines roar over. Gives me goosebumps every time. (It would have been nice if it had been a WW2 B-17 though hahaha)
THAT....is a big ass plane. Damn.
Whats the biggest?

awesome looking plane. Looks like a flying whale
reminds me of looking up at the shark in the movie Jaws

Good shot. You could never get an idea of the sound on video though. The engine note will rattle you eyeballs. That's some horsepower

No.. it wasn't a JATO.. it was a regular C17 Globemaster.. I've seen a JATO C130.. totally different thing.

Almost perfectly executed, but he got there just a touch early. Supposed to be over 2nd base on the last note.
still awesome seeing it come in through the smoke of the fireworks lol haha

Love the atmosphere on these flyover clips
I flew back from Afghanistan in one of these, they are absolutely HUGE!
A while back, we went to write Paterson air force base ( for the museum), and c-17s were doing touch and goes around our hotel

Riding those flaps. :p

Had to meet the TOT (Time on target) while also allowing for any emergency, flaps allow a positive climb at lower speeds

Crazy how this never happens in the U.K!

Let's not overlook how incredible that singer performed! Dude was on point!
My family are the only ones who get excited and shout and cheer when they see jets at an airshow

Best flyover I ever saw was at the 2007 Iowa State-Mizzou Football Game. The B1 flew over almost on the deck with full afterburners going.

*Accidently bombs entire stadium to the ground*
If a wrong button was pressed....you'd probably get a truck crashing down on you. The C-17 is a transport, not a bomber.
It is a cargo aircraft, not bomber. Most he could do is release the flares
Err..,guys..I think Bob here meant the "Fireworks" that was let-off B4 the approach of the aircraft or that he really meant what U guys are at?
kiesha86 that would look really cool, won't it...
Mr Krabs Its a cargo plane, but you could drop explosives out the back

the LOOK and the SOUND of FREEDOM
As a kid, I was always way more excited by aircraft flyby's than the games themselevs
should have done it with AIR FORCE ONE next time
C17 is airforce...
Cuauhtemoc Rivera the presidential air force one jet.
AF1 is the name of the aircraft that the president is on... Not the 747 that he usually flies on. So, he would have to be on it.
The Glob-master. Must be a new plane in the US inventory. Sorry, I couldn't help making fun of the misspelling.
Fact: the C-17 GlobeMaster came from Travis AFB
