This is why ruyi's son did not become emperor for people who don't understand the emperor decision:
Ruyi left a letter to her son saying that she hoped that he would not become a crown prince as she wanted him to be free. Also , ruyi wanted to cut all ties with the emperor: she cut her hair (= divorce) , removed all pictures and momentum of her in the royal paintings so her son could not be an emperor because then it would be necessary to speak of his mother , her clan and her status
Wei yanwan had a high status and her son was very bright , he was a good candidate.
Making her son the emperor is not because hongli appreciated wei yanwan but because he was the logical best option. I hope those who were confused understand now

@@dominiqueanneg081406 sorry to disappoint . In actual history Wei Yanwan’s son becomes emperor. He names her empress dowager post humously (after her death) . Ruyi’s son goes on to have one daughter and died in 1776. Thats all that’s really known about his life after his younger brother inherits the throne.

The more I watched this tv show... the more I grew an absolute disdain for the emperor’s character... he was weak, selfish, self-centered, egotistical, condescending, oblivious... and the list goes on. There was not ONE woman in his harem that he didn’t hurt or wrong. Pathetic.

Same as Henry VIII - 6 wives which were divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded and survived in that order with numerous extramarital affairs. Never admitting their errors, never giving respite, selfish and deadly - entertaining delusions of grandeur and divine rights. Only wanting what they want without any thoughts of the consequences and never treating the ones that love them with the respect or gratitude they deserved and earned.

Ah, you must watch Yangxi Palace then. And the legend of Hao Lan. "Qin Dynasty" was excellent, lavish costumes and mass battle scenes, it was really nice to discover those details; the cast more talented (if a bit cartoonish). "Legend of Xiao Chuo" probably had a smaller budget, but they spent well on costumes and since that was a very different era, I really appreciated it. They also had more landscapes which was nice to discover.

    • @MildrethObando
      @MildrethObando 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Bendito y alabado sea Dios.

Ruyi's longest surviving son died when he was 24. Her letter gave him a choice to how he lived his life, but he still died before being able to choose. His father would also have had to give him the choice.
Cutting his hair, is more like divorcing her, and therefore letting her go.
When Lady Rong is looking at the plum blossoms with Ruyi, they are talking about how love changes. Some loves deepen, others fade away. Lady Rong asks if Ruyi is still speaking about the Emperor, but Ruyi doesn't answer. In the end Lady Rong tells the women not to be sad because Ruyi "should be with her youthful lover by now," even though the Emperor is still alive. I think she means Ruyi joined Ling Yunche, the man she knew all those years, for whom their feelings deepened over time.

I’m confused, wasn’t that evil Wei’s son, that’s why she was kept alive for so many years until he was handed leadership, so the emperor finally put that dog down!!! It wasn’t even the son she raised as a foster, he is dead. So was the thumbnail incorrect or did I get everything wrong?????

Yes, it was Wei's son. The title is wrong. She was kept alive to be tortured. Remember the bowl of poison that the emperor had her drink, after all her crimes were made known and she was forced to bow before the flags?
Well, she was given medicine to keep her from dying, while still suffering the effects of the poison. Only at the end, did he give her more poison, to finally kill her. I think an earlier death would have been too easy for all the lives that she took.

He did erase everything, he hated Ruyi in real life even before she cut her hair he refused to name her sons crown princes , some historians are saying that is the reason she cut her hair as he wouldn’t name her son crown prince and made the decision to make consort Ling Imperial Consort Ling, He wrote poetry (love) for Empress Fuca regularly and maybe Ruyi fell into depression as this man just couldn’t love her and she was only step Empress in name but not in his heart.

Everyone pretty much pressured her to be an Empress, which ultimately in the end, led to her downfall. I blame everyone. Everyone was using Ruyi to become an Empress to benefit themselves.

@@sweety2088 It was created as a impact in the series. it was worse in history, after the step empress died, her funeral was supposed to an imperial noble consort but in reality her tomb was more of shabby casket, she was buried next to imperial noble consort chunhui (Noble consort Chun). Her portraits and records were erased but there is an alleged portrait of her but nobody doesn't know if it's really her or not, possibly so.
