    My go-to is the Universal Rider Waite... I think it's because I used the rider waite to learn tarot, and it made the journey so smooth. I always get clear readings, never doubt the cards. It's weird, but I feel like I have a connection. Like I get the cards, and they get me. I have expanded my collection, also to challenge myself and learn more and more... and I must admit the crystal visions deck has been a close runner-up to the rider waite. They're so beautiful, I'm mesmerised by the universe, and again, I connect to them so deeply. So yeah, to sum up: its they way a deck feels when I do readings. The energy I get, and they way my mind automatically tunes in with the cards.

    Your deck review on the Crystal Visions Tarot sparked my interest a while back and I ended up buying it. It's been my favorite! I also use the Osho Zen Tarot and Goddess Oracle by Doreen Virtue pretty often, and recently got a mudra oracle deck that I've been using a lot. I find that each deck serves to reflect different aspects of myself I'm trying to learn about. What makes the Crystal Visions Tarot so special to me is that I've formed an emotional attachment to it in a way and I think it reflects the most of myself in a really gentle inspiring way. I feel most open to what I pull from that deck even when it's a card that could be seen as intimidating. I know that decks have a kind of energy about them and that one feels like a good friend who's honest with me even when it's not what I want to hear, but I still get a lot of really encouraging reads from it. Thank you for making deck reviews along with using different decks in each reading you post. It's opened me up to so many possible decks and I've added a lot of them to my wish list!

    Nice video, as always. I enjoy hearing which decks resonate with people and why. I have a few decks that I love, but rarely use for whatever reason. I would say the Druidcraft tarot is one of my all time favorites and I continue to gravitate towards it. I also use the dreams of Gaia tarot a lot, tho I haven't had it for that long. It's not only beautiful, but I like the way they broken down the suits and the ideas in the deck. It makes sense to me and it is wonderful for certain types of readings. I am also fond of tarot of sweet twilight and cosmic tarot. I use them often. But I would have to say my two most used are Barbara Moore's steampunk tarot and most used is Druidcraft. As far as rider Waite smith go, I really love the centennial edition.

    My go to deck is The Sacred Circle Tarot, by Anna Franklin. I love this one for daily readings for myself, it's deep, has clarity, and I can actually resonate with the cards without being intimidated. It always is spot on what is on my mind.

    My go-to deck is the Original Rider Waite Tarot. I always return to this deck after having worked with one of my other, sometimes more challenging decks. I also love the Crystal Visions which you introduced to me in one of your video's :)

    i got the crystal visions deck because of you and it gives me really clear readings, but I haven't used it in a long time. my new fave deck is the everyday witch, I am obsessed with it. I find the images to be sooo clear on the meanings of the cards and that you don't even need to know tarot to read with it, and i find it to be a very comfortable deck and has such positive vibes for me. the reason i stopped using crystal visions is i found a lof of the cards look too similar for me; like a lof of them have a woman just standing there and not really doing anything or showing the true meaning of the card through the images. i highly recommend the everyday witch :D

    My go to deck is the Happy Tarot! It's so cute and the pictures are just nice even when the message isn't the nicest. For me that specific deck is one that makes it easy for me to connect with my guides through, which is why I love it so much. It was the second deck I ever got and it's just always the one I find myself reaching for, not to say I don't love my others, but usually I make a point to work with those, whereas this one is just my automatic go to.

    Hi Kate! When I first got into tarot several years ago, I started watching your channel. Your review of the Shadowscapes Tarot really grabbed me, and I got myself a copy. It ended up being one of my go-to decks, although it took me a few years to realize that! The RWS is my other go-to.
    I love neutral decks with beautiful images. If a deck is too light or too dark, I only find it useful if I'm in a certain mood. However, the Shadowscapes and the RWS are accessible no matter what I feel like.

    The decks I am drawn to and use over and over again are: The Mythic Tarot, Wild Wood Tarot and Rider Waite Smith Tarot. I think it is the symbolism in them that really speaks to me.

    • @DailyTarotGirl
      @DailyTarotGirl  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the Wildwood and it's really a lovely deck - I don't use it as much as I use the Druidcraft, but I still like it.

  • @barryhales5736
    @barryhales5736 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    rider waite...why? I think because they are right to the point, very clear in their symbolism and you don't get distracted from what the card is trying to say. Also when learning from someone else like yourself it is easy to understand what you are saying because the pictures and symbols are so familiar and recognizable, plus because it is so common many people use it and many teachers teach from it which elliminates the need to try and relearn and allows you to listen to what the teachers is saying. I think it is by far the best deck for someone like yourself to teach from.

    I have every deck you reviewed, some because of you! I don't think I would have purchased Hezico had you not read with it several years ago. I decided to get it from a collector standpoint, but it is magical and I find it fascinating! Thanks, Kate!

    i love the biddy everyday tarot deck, the wild unknown, a travel sized smith waite rider deck, and I like the harmonious tarot for love or relationship readings. I just bought the hermetic tarot, but it's a little intimidating to me because i'm still a relative newbie to tarot. And, I've bought a few other decks that looked great on-line but felt so foreign when they arrived. I'm holding onto them just in case I'm drawn to them in a future reading.

    I have been reading for about 7 months now and I own a few decks, but I'm really finding myself pulled in to Deviant Moon. I love that they are kind of shadowy and the hyper realistic surrealism art style they have going on. They really feel like a window into my subconscious. I'm also really fond of dragon Tarot.

    Of the re-drawings/re-colorings of the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, Universal Waite is possibly my least favorite. The ideal deck that I would love to see would be taking the line drawings of the Borderless Waite-Smith, have the lines as thin as the Universal Waite, and use the coloring of the new Lo Scarabeo RWS deck. Admittedly, the deck that I currently use is a different deck from those. I use the Radiant Rider-Waite.

  • @annieartist1978
    @annieartist1978 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I just bought my first deck from Amazon and it hasn't arrived yet-it's the newest Radiant rider-Waite deck. I chose it strictly for it's colors, since all I know about tarot are the bits I've been watching on YT since I ordered it. I'm mainly leaning on you, and another tutorial so far.
    But I've made a decision. Even tho I'll keep watching you guys in YT every day, and I bought a book, I'm going to spend time in the beginning reading cards not really knowing what they're supposed to mean. I'll just make stuff up.
    The reason I want to do this for awhile is because I want to be relaxed. I bought an instant pot a month ago, and I'm still afraid of it, so haven't plugged it in yet. I don't want to feel that way about tarot. I don't want to feel like "I've got to get this right."
    Later, I'll learn more about the meanings, don't want to re-invent the wheel.

    • @DailyTarotGirl
      @DailyTarotGirl  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That sounds like a really lovely way to approach learning Tarot, Annie. I think you can become almost dependent on others opinions about what a card means and I think it's good to drown out those voices and just focus on going within and getting acquainted with Tarot. Good luck to you :)

    The decks I am drawn to and love to use are; The Green Witch Tarot, The Light Seer´s Tarot, Crystal Visions Tarot, Everyday Witch Tarot, The Dark Mansion Tarot, Radiant Wise Spirit Tarot and The Herbal Healing Deck. I love the symbolism, the story in them and the bright colours. 😍 Love and light from Sweden

    I also have a huge collection hehe but I would find it hard to find a top 5 list, I would need a top 10! ;) So good job there, Kate!I really like Dame Darcy deck. I would love to trade my first edition for the third editin though, she made some really cool changes to some cards.

    Been reading Tarot for a few decades now and never been attracted to decks without borders (with perhaps only ONE exception). In my time, many decks had borders, such as the Rider Waite, so it was something I got accustomed to. There was the Aquarian deck that was borderless, yet I could never connect with it.
    A borderless deck would need to be quite exceptional and outstanding to capture my attention. As of recent, one borderless deck has managed to do just that... 'Madam Lydia Wilhemina's Tarot of Monsters, the Macabre and Autumn Scenes', which may not be for everyone.

    I like your style of decks... rare because I come across a lot of Top 5 Deck videos that I don’t like. I don’t know how to describe my style and some of the decks I most connect with are not always warm and fuzzy decks that I love... it’s more that they are direct and deliver truth which I value over aesthetics.

    Thank you for the awesome video :).
    I have 5 tarot decks in total. I did have 7 but I just couldn’t connect with 2 of them.
    Anyway my 5 are usually mostly used and decided based on the question at hand. I find this gives me a more accurate answer. My 5 are, sprit song tarot, tattoo tarot, ciro Marchetti’s guilded deck and retrospective deck and beginners guid to tarot by Juliet Sharman-Burke.

    Thank you for making this video. I didn't think I'd like the Hezicos deck cuz the men look weird to me, but I love all the blue and many of the other cards, so it's now on my wish list! I have the Crystal Visions deck, but I hardly ever use it. Maybe it's cuz of the white borders! How do you trim the corners...do you go to a copy place? I also like the Universal Waite deck. Have you ever seen Tarot of the New Vision? I really like it; it's one of my favorite decks.

    I love love love my Dame Darcy. The issues about the images being similar to that other deck bothers me none cause a. the art style is totally unique and different and b. how many RWS clones are there? I have had some problems connecting with it, maybe I should use it more. I do keep it in my favorite frog bag though.

      Hi Jeff!
      I find that borders make the cards seem smaller and when the borders are gone I feel like I can enter the card more readily and it's easier to connect the cards and spot common themes. That's just my take on it.

    • @TattoodSpirit
      @TattoodSpirit 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I like your take...in the hypno business. We would refer to you as being "associated" to the imagery...not "disassociated" by it..you prefer being IN the image rather than a passive observer of it..That tells me a lot about you....thank you for your comment!...I enjoy your videos!

      @@TattoodSpirit Its a shame to trim the borders on any Tarot decks . I have so many Tarot decks and I would never trim any of them. I feel like they would lose their magic.... I'm not a fan of trimmed decks anyway. Blessed be :-)

    I love the Wild Unknown Tarot. the Osho Zen Tarot, and my Morgan Greer Tarot in a tin. I too own lots of decks, but I've found that these really resonate with me lately. They all read different aspects and have varying energies, but they also work as a team. I am learning that a tarot deck that really fits feels like a communication tool to talk to friends that are far away, but have useful advice to convey. I imagine that the friends are my guides. I sometimes wonder who picks out the decks? Me or my guides?
    I didn't really know I liked the Morgan Greer so much until I got the English version. I accidentally bought an Italian version at first and it was so annoying. I would always laugh when Kate would do a weekly reading with her Spanish version of the Morgan Greer she accidentally bought. I'm not the only one! I bet you'd like the MG way better if you got the English version. It's an awesome deck when you can actually read the text.

      Hi. My favourite tarot deck is the original Rider Waite deck it's simplistic, and provides me with clear guidance. I have bought many decks in the past, just to have them relegated to my bottom shelf! I don't like fiddly or complicated designs on my decks. Im v drawn to the picture on your wall in this video. Please could you tell me a little more about it? Thank you. I love your videos etc. With best wishes and love, Gabrielle x
