This family is amazing! If it weren't for Harriet and M-15 we wouldn't have seen so many E's. Not counting Ozzie's E's with Harriet. They are Part of my life & heart ♥️
Harriet and M are great parents. Its so great to learn about them and see how they live as a family unit. Thanks to everyone involved in our being able to observe these glorious birds. Love it.
Another great feeding video LH!! I love how E17 waddled over when done eating, to watch E18's feeding, ha!! In the end, two happy eaglets with twin bulging crops, lol!! :-) Sending prayers and positive thoughts for everyone AND our wildlife, being impacted by the terrible weather. -Hugs

I'm so sorry to hear that! :-( My sister is in NE Oklahoma & is without water due to a line break but otherwise has power & heat except for an hour & a half today during a rolling blackout. She said she fed a few birds that showed up in her yard, & now they're all flocking there--bless their hearts! :-) I pray your friend doesn't have to wait 8 more days--1 more is too long, but up to 8 is just awful!! :-(

Still without power today. Inside temperature is 46 degrees!! That is too darn cold! Bless her heart for feeding the birds! I am sure that kept them alive!!
A wonderful sight to behold. Two diligent, attentive , patient, and endearing BAEA parents, M15 and Harriet, feeding the next generation of this eagle legacy. I believe like last season, with E16 initially appeared to be weaker, was indeed to strengthen her for her journey ahead, and that this will be so for E18. I was so worried when the BABIES came Back from the eaglets Hospital .mom and DAD wouldn't welcome thems Back. But its Turned out to be a beautiful and sweet family.
I wonder whether this type of bullying characteristic of this nest! I started watching Decorah eagle nest several years back. They have three eggs every year. And I never saw some thing like this type of bonking there. Here the older one bonk the other even when it's crop is full and both parents are feeding.
Decorah did have some bonking too but not nearly as bad as we are seeing here at SW!! I think it has to do with the aggressive genetics from Harriet :)
I tuned out yesterday also. One look at lady hawk's notification and that was enough TH-cam for the day. But it's also why I don't let my two cats outdoors. Cars, eagles, we have black vultures around here that have grabbed neighborhood cats and dogs before.
@@nurselou1emory177 it seems to be slow going. Lot of effort for tiny bites. They continue to bring in fish, which are much easier to open and feed big bites to the kids

This is my first time watching a nest. How can two eaglets that were born almost at the same time be so far apart in maturity? Was E18 a preemie? How far apart were the eggs laid?
Presumed that E17 is female and E18 is a male. Females are about 25% larger or more ☺️ Eggs were laid couple days apart, but the hatched within 2 hours of each other. Delayed incubation.
@@Evidence_Of_Things_Unseen even the cam operators aren't really showing it. Seems like lots of work for very little food. I doubt it will be shown here because of all the complaints. Unless you've got a giant screen to watch live on, you won't see much. Harriet brought in the roadkill. They're scavengers
Hello Patricia the eaglets will start to self feed beginning around the 5-6th week with little nibbles - they have to be able to stand up and grip the prey with their talons in order to tear if off and truly self feed! Judging how E18 is attempting it now I do believe he will be the first one to self feed!
E18 needs to be more aggressive to fight for foods and even he has to fight E17. He can't just be a whip. E17 isn't that big in side and strong. I guess when someone is surrender, it will surrender for life. I feel bad for E18. Sad to see him being a whip to E17. what is the points of bother parents feeding the same greedy SOB E17? what a heartache watching these two parents. E17 is hardly get to eat a good meal without dodging for his head.
I understand what you are saying but right now E18 is doing what he should be doing - be submissive to defuse the aggression from E17 and let E17 eat until satisfies. Then E18 will be able to get fed - H and M are great parents and will bring in enough prey. If E18 were to be aggressive back, it would end badly for E18, This is the best course of action for now.

It’s the pecking order as in all species. E18 now knows he must wait till E17 has had enough. He has plenty of food, the parents see to that.

Hi LH! I noticed this morning around 7:54, one of the parents, i think Harriet has some kind of eye issue!? The right eye stayed closed.

I watch M15...he has a habit of not letting go of the food AND keeping the big pieces himself. Greedy.
