Narcissism is a trap, as in the original Greek myth. That is not what Goddard's philosophy seems to be about. It does not involve using other people for your own ends but reshaping your own thinking to improve your life and in doing so the lives of others, such as your family, to become better than what you are or at what you do. He is also saying that everyone has this capacity and that it can be theirs if they realise it and discover how to tap into it. Everyone is equally valuable and everyone has potential is what he seems to be saying in his talks. And it follows that if you see everyone else as having equal value to you and having the same potentialities then you cannot see them as things to be used and discarded, that are lesser than yourself.
