Central Park Row Boat Rentals - Some of the Best NYC Views!

Renting row boats in Central Park, NYC is one of my favorite things to do when I have guests in town. I also like doing this w/ my family for no reason other than it's fun. This is a great perspective to take in NYC. If feels like you're in a storybook park, then you look up and see the perimeter surrounded by skyscrapers, including the legendary Dakota, where John Lennon lived. You launch and return by Loeb Boathouse (72nd street towards the middle of the park) which is gorgeous, then paddle out to see the Bethesda Fountain and Terrace. As you keep rowing, you go under a picturesque bridge then take in more stunning views as you make your way around the bend. This hour adventure is by far one of my favorites in NYC!
Hours:
April to November, from 10am until dusk (weather permitting).
Rules:
First come, first served - No Reservations
Each boat holds up to 4 people max
$20 per hour (cash only) and $5 per each addt'l 15 minutes with a $20 cash deposit
Free Life jackets are provided
Children must be at least 3 feet tall
Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult and wear a life jacket
Pets are not permitted
There is no ATM on site, plan for cash accordingly
Feel free to bring a picnic lunch to eat in the boat or purchase one at Loeb Boathouse.
Use the bathroom before getting on the boat! There is one right by the rental gate or in the grand stairwell at Bethesda Terrace.
