I remember I had a hockey tournament in Branford and for some reason one of the dads brought all the kids to Walters house (Wayne's childhood home) this was completely on the spot and Walter was not expecting us .. But as we knocked on the door we saw him talking to another team , and he invited us in his house like nothing. Told some great stories man, we got to wear some of Wayne's authentic jerseys , then he came to watch our game. Only in Canada man. Great times

His listening ability. Truly being able to actively listen while also still being able to realize he also has to ask questions is an extremely rare traits.

Met Walter at McDonald's. One of the most humble, polite and friendly person's you will ever meet. Great sense of humor too. This possibly is where Wayne got his humbleness and inner character influence from along with from his Mother.

A Fantastic Interview with a Truly, Extraordinary Individual. Although I Never got too see Mr. Wayne Gretzky Play a live Game in Edmonton. As we Had moved from there in 1976. I did always make a Point too Watch the Oilers Play on TV, Even living in Back Country, Wyoming at that Time. Talk 🦜🦜 about Difficulty getting to See a Hockey Game at those times. Well I did get too Watch Some? And the Playoffs & Finals were Fantastic too See.
All through Wayne's Career, He was My True Favorite, I Guess it'd Be? My Modern Era Hockey Player. Because when the Oilers we're a WHA Team in the Early 1970s it was A League just beneath the NHL. That Was, where We Did See. The likes of Guys such as, Gordie Howe, Bobby Hull, Phil Esposito, Ken Dryden, Bobby Orr, Bobby Clark, The Rocket Richard, and Many Other Former, Great NHL Legends Still Playing the Game Out, Till the End.
Through the Late Seventies, then the Great Year's of the Eighties and Nineties I Followed from afar, as Many Did then. Mr. Wayne Gretzky's Career & the NHL's always Changing way's. But it Had too of Been, OH about 2005 or possibly Later? (My Memory is Vague of Detail's). That I'd Heard of Mr Walter Gretzky's, Tragic Health Issues and His, Almost Death from the Brain Aneurysm that He Suffered. Well it just So Happened 😃😃 I Guess it was Karma? That in Our Local Library One Day. I Found or Stumbled Upon a DVD 📀📀 that the Title Caught My Attention, just Like Lightening ⚡⚡ Had just Struck⚡⚡Me. The Title of That DVD was, "What About Walter"? FYI, I was Dumbfounded then. But also I was Totally Awestruck and Delighted at Finding that Gem 💎💎 of a Film & the DVD of The Great One's. ( Wayne Gretzky's) Father's Lifetime Story, and His Recovery from His, Prior Aneurysm, Stroke and the Long Enduring Journey of Recovery that Mr. Walter Gretzky, had Went through from it.
They Always Say? Thing's will most likely Happen for Some, Odd unknown Reasons at Given Time's, in Our Lives? Well I'm Still Kinda Confused 🤔🤔 about All This Ironic, and quite Unusual Stuff that I've been Dealing With of Late. But as they Say Life is a Journey that We All Take. Only thing is? IS Each Person's Journey? Is a Totally Different One, From Anyone Else's Is. So Enjoy it While it Lasts. Thanks for Sharing.

Walter Gretzky should be in the Hockey HOF just because he was the GOAT of Hockey Parents. He talked to hockey parents of players drafted or anyone who would listen. We need to shine a light on parents like Mr and Mrs Gretzky to show the way for future hockey parents

5:47 , he's the man that raised Wayne Gretzky. Even that statement coming his legendary son doesn't reflect the simple intensity of the man. I have so much respect for Wayne Gretzky as an athlete. the dedication to your sport is something that retired with him. Some people come close ..... Occasionally.

The greatest player who ever lived never trained in the off-season. And the 2nd greatest player who ever lived, Mario Lemieux, probably didn't train much either when the season was over.
