There should be a code for the ghosts that when the player says "let's get out" or any other sentence that implies leaving, the ghost should like scare them by closing the door.

Here are some tips Press 'T' to toggle flashlight even if you are holding another item. (Flashlight must be in your inventory though) When your flashlight flashes the ghost has entered hunting mode and activity will flat line at 10. Hide in a closet and close the doors with your flashlight off. You will know when the hunting is done when your flashlight stops flashing or someone in the van confirms the activity has gone down. When in hunting mode the ghost will lock the front door and look for players. DO NOT try to leave the house when it is in hunting mode because it's useless and you will end up getting yourself killed. Using smudge sticks will help prevent you or your team from getting attack and will keep the ghost away for the time being. Check the bathroom sinks for dirty water. You can hear the ghost filling up the sink so you will know when it happens. Salt will have an indention when a ghost has disturbed it. Phantoms can pass through doors (I think?) I would recommend putting the items outside the front door before going in. (Saves time from walking back and forth to the van.) I personally take a Flashlight, EMF, and Photo Camera. (Buddies typically grab video cameras or tripods.) If you're playing solo I recommend a Thermometer, EMF, and Flashlight. Once you find the room the ghost is present in get the video cameras and place it at a good angle to see the whole room. And place the book down in the room as well. Hearing the piano play isn't the spirit box, so try not to get it mixed up. (This doesn't mean the spirit box won't work). If the ghost seems violent I would recommend staying in a group (Although you should even if it doesn't seem that way) and waiting for something alarming to happen before using a smudge stick or Photo camera. Collecting bones will give you money (You can also take a picture of them). You can ask the ghost various questions on the spirit box. If it is responding well I would suggest saying "Show yourself" with you or a buddy holding a camera ready to take a photo. Sorry this was long if anything is inaccurate please tell me, I'm going off of my general knowledge of the game.
Actually, the smudge stick will not prevent the ghost from hunting, the crucifix prevents the ghost from hunting if you place it within its spawn points. The smudge sticks only prevents the ghost from wondering outside of the room it’s in. Besides that I can confirm the rest of your tips as extremely useful for new players.

Uh, all of you are wrong... When the ghost is currently hunting and the lights are flickering, you can wait until the ghost leaves on it own by simply running away. But in a smaller map like the houses, it's not advised to run. The ghost hunts for about 30 seconds so you can wait the time out.
It is more about ambience and haunting rather than jumpscares and chasing. It makes the mind wander and lets fear creep in to the brain. It focuses your attention to your surroundings, which makes you more aware of them, and that forces you to get more scared. It is marvelously made.
This reminds me of the definition and difference between horror and terror. One awakens the emotional euphoria and the other oblitorates it. Don't remember which is which though.

Yall need to use in game chat to talk to each other. It actually interacts with the ghost. Also, be sure to note the descriptions of the ghost types. Some will only hunt when there is 1 person alone. Some will pick a specific person, and ONLY hunt that person until they are dead, then move on to the next. I recommend inviting drae to play, because the more you level up, the bigger maps you get. AND I'M TALKING BIG. You explore an abandoned highschool even, and thats not the biggest. The spirit box has had issues with people, so you need to test whether it works or not at the start of each round. Stay in the truck and ask a question. If it says "Nothing detected" after a few tries, you are good. If it keeps cycling, then its bugged for you. From what I know, the lower your sanity, the more likely a target you become. You will know it is hunting you as your light will start flashing. You can outrun the ghost, just keep moving. Crucifix will keep it away while hunting you. Salt can be put on the ground, and if the ghost passes over it, you can shine the UV light to see its tracks. I recommend using this, as GamingTomato and his friends were saved by it. The ghost cut them off and they would've walked straight into it if they didn't see the footprints. Items you buy will be lost if you die. I recommend collecting all equipment before leaving. Make it a rule. Even for items that respawn. Its a good habit to have as items are expensive and you don't wanna lose them. This game is always scary, but when you learn how to defend yourself and find the ghost, it becomes easier. Find the ghost as fast as you can. Use those 5 minutes splitting up around the house / building. The faster you find it, the better chances you have of getting out alive. Ghost orbs are easy to spot, but they can only be spotted from the tv in the truck. Someone WILL have to chill in the truck a bit. The maps get large, so 2 people will NOT be enough. You will need someone guiding you when you unlock the asylum map. There is no outside. Only hallways and stairs. Its like a maze. There is a map in the truck that shows everyones locations, sanity, and ghost activity. When activity reaches 10, the person inside needs to get moving. It won't chase forever, and there are backdoors to some of the maps that the ghost does not lock. That is your ticket out if it is still chasing you by the time you reach it. Smudge sticks can be used to keep the ghost from wandering, making it easier to get an orb sighting, spirit box, or temperature check. Again, I highly advise you get more people. 3 will do, 4 will be even better. This game gets BIG. Too big. 2 people will get lost and die. Yall need to get a plan down and strategy. In, and out.
I could be wrong, but im pretty sure while the ghost is hunting, a crucifix won't do shit lol. they're designed to be set somewhere and in an area like 3 feet each direction, the ghost can't manifest there, but if it's already manifested your best bet is to run and hide or use a smudge stick, a crucifix won't deter an already-manifested ghost
1) I completely agree with you saying they need to use in game comms only. It's a way better experience, especially due to the fact that when the ghost starts hunting, your radios start to get super buggy. However, when a ghost hunts, it does not just target 1 person. I have personally seen the ghost go after 1 person and then switch to another person mid-hunt and kill them instead. 2) The spirit box thing is true. The way to fix the glitch is to alt-tab out of the game, and then CLICK the game window to enter back into it, do not alt-tab back into the game. 3) The crucifix does not keep the ghost away from you. It only works when it is laying on the floor. It prevents the ghost from manifesting in that area for two hunts. If the ghost starts the hunt outside of the crucifix's range, it does nothing. Smudge sticks work the way you thought the crucifix works. If you are being hunted, light a smudge stick and it will slow the ghost down while it is chasing you. It won't work if it's chasing someone else, he has to be targeting the person holding the smudge sticks for it to do anything. 4) The first part of your statement about losing items when you die is true. The second part is not true. You do not need to collect any items when you leave the mission. If you are alive, items left in the house will be returned to you when you go back to base. The assumption is that the "clean up crew" grabbed them when they got rid of the ghost the next day. (I am hoping a patch is released later on down the line that allows us to also take control of the extermination/clean up crew who actually get rid of the ghosts.) 5) Those 5 minutes you referenced are only on amateur difficulty. The higher difficulty level you get on a mission, the less prep/safe time you have on the clock. 6) Smudge sticks only prevent specific ghosts types from wandering. Read the journal, it tells you which ghosts will stop wandering around.

IGP, the things that you are saying about the word popping out on the screen of the device is an ovilus, what you're using now is a Spirit box, and in the show, it doesn't stop in one frequency, it goes through every frequency and not stop :D love you vids tho, keep it up :D
Pressing "T" while having an item in the hand (including the Flashlight in the inventory) allows you to use your flashlight. Also buying a thermometer for locating the ghost at the beginning I recommend you to do.
7:00 ish minutes yes that was the spirit box, recently leant you can actually put in down and it still works and plus even creepier it sometimes talks without asking it anything. PMSL would be fun to play with you two

I believe it means age as a ghost. As in, became a ghost eight years ago in this case. There's a passage in the diary or the tutorial, I don't remember, that says "some are known to be thousands of years old".
If you're skeptical of the paranormal hear me out, but demonic beings, (in this case an Oni is just a beefier demon) have been known to lie about their age, identity etc. to lower the guards of the living.
If it was Icy that heard the "eight/hate" he wouldn't come back to the house, pretty convenient to the official truck camper... Also, no discord voip, be immersed and use in-game voip to have the full experience, in a hunt to be able to communicate it's pretty cheap

I would love to see a "Haunt mode" like where somebody is a Oni or Jinn and they haunt players and the more haunting they do the more power they get and when they have enough they can hunt and the Players must guess the players ghost type or when a player dies in Co-Op they can haunt their friend
They are currently debating on whether they should implant a “Ghost mode” where one person is the ghost and the others are investigators. So far it’s leaning to a no we should not implant a ghost mode, so you might not want to get your hopes high up.
Think about it for a sec that would be impossible, the way some of the ghost evidence works is by the ghost giving it, if its a player tell me why you would give any of it?
Not really, the game is always picking up your microphone. "V" and "B" is mainly for talking with your teammates in the game. It's the reason why during the Hunts, even without pressing "V", the Ghost can still hear you.

@@HESHRocketWarhead Supposedly, for as long as the mic is on, it will automatically pick up any noise from it and the ghost will react accordingly. The voice chat and voice recognition are two separate things though there are currently some bugs on the voice chat part. Even without the Spirit Box, the ghost will still respond to what you say in your mic by opening doors, flicking lights etc.
You guys should do a full-blown series of this! Everyone loves it (including me) and by the time you guys get closer to end game, it might be Halloween. That would be pretty perfect timing if you ask me...

I love how they say they're going to make Icy be the one to stay in the house and then have to immediately backtrack on that promise... Even when they figure out that they *don't need the spirit box* (which was the whole reason for Icy to not stay alone) IGP still ends up being the one going in alone.
I'm SO glad you guys are making more videos of this game! It's honestly one of - if not the best - horror game to come out in years. Most are more about just showing you something 'scary', then having you jog away for a bit with loud music. But there are few horror games (or games with horror aspets) that actually make you feel vulnerable. that make you feel like you're actually in danger. The only other ones I can think of at the top of my head are Subnautica and SCP: CB.

Yeah, but you don't get payed for it if the answer is wrong, and you don't level up. You need levelling up and earning money in order to buy better equipment for the more complex maps.
@@captainufo4587 When you die, you lose everything you brought for that mission. Depending on the amount of equipment you bring, you risk losing hundreds to possibly thousands of dollars worth of stuff.
I had the Genshin Impact loading screen in my background while IGP died so I also died IRL because the music peaked and I just couldn't get what was happening, but on the other hand the aftermath was just as much better
Would like to point out how horryfing 16:22 was, with icy suddenly appearing as a black outline in the door while looking down and appearing all deformed. Literally the stuff of nightmares XD
More tips: If it's spirit box, you can ask questions like "are you here, where are you, how old are you, etc" it will put what it says on the spirit box, or it will say nothing detected. wraith cannot be detected by footprints if you put salt down, and it steps in it, it will not show feet with UV, you will still hear footprints. during hunts, your flashlight will blink, the door will lock, and the activity will go to 10. (hide in a closet or something) you can use a smudge stick (bring a lighter) to prevent it from hunting for 90 seconds, or to have it run away from you during a hunt. i'll do more tips if this gets enough likes.
A few tips. 1. You are being hunted when the radio cuts out and your flashlight starts blinking, The entrances to the location will lock, and whoever is inside during the hunt will not be able to get out until it is over, find the nearest room, go into it, and close the door/hide until it is over. If you do that, you will not die. 2. If you have a flashlight, you can switch to another item and press T to turn your flashlight on and off while holding said item. 3. Looking for prints (finger or foot) is pointless right away until the ghost either interacts with certain object (doors) and or when activity spikes for footprints. Smudge sticks will "cleanse" and area for a set time, making ghost presence in that area go way down and keep the ghost away for a little while. 4. You can take the EMF out and turn it on, and set it on something like the spirit box and it will still work. 5. If you cannot find any hints as to where the ghost is, Ouija boards can help you locate it if you ask where it is. 6. If you turn too many lights on at a location, it will cause the lights to go out and you will have to reset the fusebox. 7. The crucifix can be thrown on the ground of a certain are to provide protection. But it only works in a limited radius to prevent a hunt. 8. You get the best chance of getting/detecting paranormal activity while in the dark. 9. The sound sensor is not the best right now, it is very iffy and rarely picks up/can lock onto sound. 10. You can turn the spirit box on and throw it on the ground or set it on something and it will still work. You do not need to be in darkness for it to work, you can have flashlights out and so on. 11. If you die, regardless if you bring someone else's or if someone brings your items, you lose them and will have to buy new ones. If there is anything useful I missed or just any other facts in general someone wants to add, feel free to comment make sure to like so they will see it

Meaning they can kill multiple depending on the current player count.

Yall need to use in game chat to talk to each other. It actually interacts with the ghost. Also, be sure to note the descriptions of the ghost types. Some will only hunt when there is 1 person alone. Some will pick a specific person, and ONLY hunt that person until they are dead, then move on to the next.
I recommend inviting drae to play, because the more you level up, the bigger maps you get. AND I'M TALKING BIG. You explore an abandoned highschool even, and thats not the biggest.
The spirit box has had issues with people, so you need to test whether it works or not at the start of each round. Stay in the truck and ask a question. If it says "Nothing detected" after a few tries, you are good. If it keeps cycling, then its bugged for you.
From what I know, the lower your sanity, the more likely a target you become. You will know it is hunting you as your light will start flashing. You can outrun the ghost, just keep moving. Crucifix will keep it away while hunting you.
Salt can be put on the ground, and if the ghost passes over it, you can shine the UV light to see its tracks. I recommend using this, as GamingTomato and his friends were saved by it. The ghost cut them off and they would've walked straight into it if they didn't see the footprints.
Items you buy will be lost if you die. I recommend collecting all equipment before leaving. Make it a rule. Even for items that respawn. Its a good habit to have as items are expensive and you don't wanna lose them.
This game is always scary, but when you learn how to defend yourself and find the ghost, it becomes easier. Find the ghost as fast as you can. Use those 5 minutes splitting up around the house / building. The faster you find it, the better chances you have of getting out alive.
Ghost orbs are easy to spot, but they can only be spotted from the tv in the truck. Someone WILL have to chill in the truck a bit.
The maps get large, so 2 people will NOT be enough. You will need someone guiding you when you unlock the asylum map. There is no outside. Only hallways and stairs. Its like a maze. There is a map in the truck that shows everyones locations, sanity, and ghost activity. When activity reaches 10, the person inside needs to get moving. It won't chase forever, and there are backdoors to some of the maps that the ghost does not lock. That is your ticket out if it is still chasing you by the time you reach it.
Smudge sticks can be used to keep the ghost from wandering, making it easier to get an orb sighting, spirit box, or temperature check.
Again, I highly advise you get more people. 3 will do, 4 will be even better. This game gets BIG. Too big. 2 people will get lost and die. Yall need to get a plan down and strategy. In, and out.

I could be wrong, but im pretty sure while the ghost is hunting, a crucifix won't do shit lol. they're designed to be set somewhere and in an area like 3 feet each direction, the ghost can't manifest there, but if it's already manifested your best bet is to run and hide or use a smudge stick, a crucifix won't deter an already-manifested ghost

1) I completely agree with you saying they need to use in game comms only. It's a way better experience, especially due to the fact that when the ghost starts hunting, your radios start to get super buggy. However, when a ghost hunts, it does not just target 1 person. I have personally seen the ghost go after 1 person and then switch to another person mid-hunt and kill them instead.
2) The spirit box thing is true. The way to fix the glitch is to alt-tab out of the game, and then CLICK the game window to enter back into it, do not alt-tab back into the game.
3) The crucifix does not keep the ghost away from you. It only works when it is laying on the floor. It prevents the ghost from manifesting in that area for two hunts. If the ghost starts the hunt outside of the crucifix's range, it does nothing. Smudge sticks work the way you thought the crucifix works. If you are being hunted, light a smudge stick and it will slow the ghost down while it is chasing you. It won't work if it's chasing someone else, he has to be targeting the person holding the smudge sticks for it to do anything.
4) The first part of your statement about losing items when you die is true. The second part is not true. You do not need to collect any items when you leave the mission. If you are alive, items left in the house will be returned to you when you go back to base. The assumption is that the "clean up crew" grabbed them when they got rid of the ghost the next day. (I am hoping a patch is released later on down the line that allows us to also take control of the extermination/clean up crew who actually get rid of the ghosts.)
5) Those 5 minutes you referenced are only on amateur difficulty. The higher difficulty level you get on a mission, the less prep/safe time you have on the clock.
6) Smudge sticks only prevent specific ghosts types from wandering. Read the journal, it tells you which ghosts will stop wandering around.

Pressing "T" while having an item in the hand (including the Flashlight in the inventory) allows you to use your flashlight. Also buying a thermometer for locating the ghost at the beginning I recommend you to do.

They are currently debating on whether they should implant a “Ghost mode” where one person is the ghost and the others are investigators. So far it’s leaning to a no we should not implant a ghost mode, so you might not want to get your hopes high up.
Think about it for a sec that would be impossible, the way some of the ghost evidence works is by the ghost giving it, if its a player tell me why you would give any of it?

Not really, the game is always picking up your microphone. "V" and "B" is mainly for talking with your teammates in the game. It's the reason why during the Hunts, even without pressing "V", the Ghost can still hear you.

@@HellsRaven4444 I dunno, it seems like they're using exterior software to talk, like Discord. They could have forgotten that the ghost responds only to in-game chat.
@@HESHRocketWarhead Supposedly, for as long as the mic is on, it will automatically pick up any noise from it and the ghost will react accordingly.
The voice chat and voice recognition are two separate things though there are currently some bugs on the voice chat part. Even without the Spirit Box, the ghost will still respond to what you say in your mic by opening doors, flicking lights etc.
You guys should do a full-blown series of this! Everyone loves it (including me) and by the time you guys get closer to end game, it might be Halloween. That would be pretty perfect timing if you ask me...

I'm SO glad you guys are making more videos of this game! It's honestly one of - if not the best - horror game to come out in years. Most are more about just showing you something 'scary', then having you jog away for a bit with loud music. But there are few horror games (or games with horror aspets) that actually make you feel vulnerable. that make you feel like you're actually in danger. The only other ones I can think of at the top of my head are Subnautica and SCP: CB.

Yeah, but you don't get payed for it if the answer is wrong, and you don't level up. You need levelling up and earning money in order to buy better equipment for the more complex maps.
@@captainufo4587 When you die, you lose everything you brought for that mission. Depending on the amount of equipment you bring, you risk losing hundreds to possibly thousands of dollars worth of stuff.
I had the Genshin Impact loading screen in my background while IGP died so I also died IRL because the music peaked and I just couldn't get what was happening, but on the other hand the aftermath was just as much better

More tips:
If it's spirit box, you can ask questions like "are you here, where are you, how old are you, etc" it will put what it says on the spirit box, or it will say nothing detected.
wraith cannot be detected by footprints if you put salt down, and it steps in it, it will not show feet with UV, you will still hear footprints.
during hunts, your flashlight will blink, the door will lock, and the activity will go to 10. (hide in a closet or something)
you can use a smudge stick (bring a lighter) to prevent it from hunting for 90 seconds, or to have it run away from you during a hunt.
i'll do more tips if this gets enough likes.

A few tips.
1. You are being hunted when the radio cuts out and your flashlight starts blinking, The entrances to the location will lock, and whoever is inside during the hunt will not be able to get out until it is over, find the nearest room, go into it, and close the door/hide until it is over. If you do that, you will not die.
2. If you have a flashlight, you can switch to another item and press T to turn your flashlight on and off while holding said item.
3. Looking for prints (finger or foot) is pointless right away until the ghost either interacts with certain object (doors) and or when activity spikes for footprints. Smudge sticks will "cleanse" and area for a set time, making ghost presence in that area go way down and keep the ghost away for a little while.
4. You can take the EMF out and turn it on, and set it on something like the spirit box and it will still work.
5. If you cannot find any hints as to where the ghost is, Ouija boards can help you locate it if you ask where it is.
6. If you turn too many lights on at a location, it will cause the lights to go out and you will have to reset the fusebox.
7. The crucifix can be thrown on the ground of a certain are to provide protection. But it only works in a limited radius to prevent a hunt.
8. You get the best chance of getting/detecting paranormal activity while in the dark.
9. The sound sensor is not the best right now, it is very iffy and rarely picks up/can lock onto sound.
10. You can turn the spirit box on and throw it on the ground or set it on something and it will still work. You do not need to be in darkness for it to work, you can have flashlights out and so on.
11. If you die, regardless if you bring someone else's or if someone brings your items, you lose them and will have to buy new ones.
