Loaded mine up and it registered as off. Took the card out and still off. Then I thought to put the card back in and did what you said, and now on. Many thanks
Thank you for this video! I wasted all evening waiting around for National grid to come out-they never bothered to show up. I should have watched your video firstly when the problem occurred.
If your appliances are off because you have no gas at all, it will display the "hold A for gas" screen which most people forget to do when they top up with their appliances off
Thank you. Helped me out just now Topped up and everything was still off, so I put the card back in and it gave me the “hold A for gas”. All good now 👍

@@ih8steve1 They only do smart meters these days, I was told. I saw they go on fire. Plus people were complaining it was costing more money rather than saving it. There is a video about it on You Tube thousands of people in California were protesting about it. It also showed houses that had gone on fire. I never touch anything to do with gas. I rather live in the cold. I did have an electric heater, still got it but it only blows cold air now.
My meter has €40 credit but stills says OFF. Held button A etc like always but no joy. Put the empty card in again, this time it said RELEASE BUTTON A for gas. Problem solved.
@@pleasebekind7056 Yeah, that was happening to mine. Someone left a huge debt that lived at my home previously. That the gas people never cancelled. That what I was told the issue was when I phoned in to Utilita. I'm always in credit now but, the gas meter still shows it goes on B1 that I understand from the above meter video something is still wrong. Not sure how to fix that issue. I don't want a smart meter, unless they install it a good distance away from my home. That could be done and would be much safer. I always feel angry when I go near wi-fi not sure why it effects me like that as I have always been placid.

what exactly did you reset ffs? all you did was top up your meter.

Put in the card to get the “hold A for gas” option.

I put my card in and screen stays dark, it knows credit is on the card but reads off.

What does it mean if your gas meter wont read the the gas card?
Bit confusing because yours was never off but it follow exactly what he does it should change the off to on
B3, battery is going, meter needs replacing.

@@StevePhillips Need to get in touch with your supplier. Im a metering engineer. We dont change batteries in those meters, whole meter is replaced.

What if it says „timeout”? I was trying to put emergency and it said timeout.
When I pop my card into the meter nothing happens. It does not read the card

If I buy new card then what is the process
Clean the contacts in the slot ,wd40 and push any card in and out several times.

Spray electrical contact cleaner in slot . Push any card in and out of slot, to clean. Try gas card again. Wd40 will do
