I always wanted one of these, and just like calculators. They finally came down in price lol. ..
now the average dude like myself can have the ability to check temperatures without burning your fingers! Great for motorcycle Car-hotspot, diagnosis, cooking, barbecue , grilling, smoking-boiling-frying- cooking kitchen use. HVAC use when checking! Hot breakers hot or cold output👍

Thanks Brent. I had a brake rotor getting hot on my wife’s car.I thought maybe the brake pads needed to wear in against a slightly warped rotor? I kept an eye it with this thermometer… it ended up being a slight burr on the Calipor piston.. I filed it it was good to go.. yeah I know I didn’t really need it for this, but it did help for a quick check to compare temps to other rotors without touching!

Nothing wrong with inexpensive tools... My old 20 years+.. Hobo Freight thermometer works just fine 👍 probably on the hundredth battery.. been dropped, banged around and still works well

Amen Ed! … back in the 80s my construction Brother bought a Milwaukee tool. Sawzall? Maybe? When the brushes went bad, he went back to the dealer and they wanted an absolute fortune for them. So, he went and bought a Cheapo and it actually performed as good and out lasted time wise as the previous Milwaukee! ….see ya later! 👍😎👍

We had a Milwaukee chop saw in the shop, spent the money. It was worth it at the time. We had waster a dozen Jet chop saws by then. Milwaukee fried, brushes were fine, but armature was toast. Chicago Electric from Hobo Freight to the rescue.. it's lasted just as long as the Milwaukee, but it's still going.... Back in the day, when we had jet, I had 3 or 4 parts saws all the time.. didn't waste anything, just kept one running.

Thanks OL’Tom! I’ve never had it default to Celsius. That would drive me crazy! .. it stays where you set it. But that’s a great point to test… so, I set it on the Celsius it stayed on Celsius. So in my “just now” testing whether F or C it stayed there! Thanks!

Just received this unit from Amazon. Mine is the GM300 which only goes to 788 degrees. I cannot figure out the calibration of the unit? Doesn’t explain the process well in manual.

I didn’t mess with mine much. It’ll let you adjust at 5° either way up or down with the calibration button. It was right on with what my electronic clock w/ temperature gauge was in my garage.. and very close to what my Taylor Fridge gauge read… so I was happy.
