I work for a racing school/track day rental company. We've had four SS 1LEs among a fleet of 30+ BMWs, Porsches, Corvettes, etc. These SS 1LEs are some of the best to drive, and were by far our most reliable car. I'll argue this car is the best car GM has ever produced. We had one SS blow an engine after 20,000+ on track miles. It was replaced under warranty, no questions asked.
@WyFoster my brother has a '18 with over 200k miles now. The complete opposite of a car guy too super late oil changes hell probably skipped some and runs the cheapest oil a drive in lube service will give him. Only thing it needed was a rear end at 185kish and he never serviced it before hand of course. Edit to add: It's Auto & has never had the trans serviced 😅
Hell yeah! I picked up a 2021 Camaro 1SS 1LE partially because of the video you had originally done with this vehicle. I hope you love it - it's a fantastic car, as you know!
@TheTopher If you haven't noticed, you CAN set the exhaust valves to be closed ALL the time via the touchscreen menu. It's not recommended for spirited driving, but if you need to escape a development without angering your neighbors, it's a good option.
I also got a 1SS 1LE because of his video on them as well. I even have the same color as him now, Riverside Blue Metallic.. such a nice color. These cars are a blast to drive. I'm never selling mine.
Well, it’s an honor having the first comment, but this car really is something else and I’m so glad you picked it up. It’s really exciting to see this new addition to the channel and I hope and wish for nothing for the best. Despite the visibility I feel like the value and the sound and experience that you get with the alpha chassis is absolutely game changer.
I managed to convince my uncle to buy a new Camaro SS 1LE as the ultimate track car for the money-and I even wrote a PDF outlining all the reasons why. Here’s the breakdown: 1. Incredible Value: The SS 1LE offers performance and features that rival much more expensive cars, making it the best bang-for-your-buck track car. 2. Manual Transmission: It still comes with a proper Tremec manual, which delivers an engaging, pure driving experience. 3. Legendary V8 Engine: The LT1 V8 is powerful, refined, and proven to be incredibly reliable over the years. It’s a beast on the track and a joy on the streets. 4. Top-Notch Chassis: The GM Alpha platform is in a league of its own, offering unmatched handling and balance, which makes the SS 1LE dominate on the track. 5. Aggressive Looks: It doesn’t just perform like a track monster-it looks the part too, with its muscular, aggressive design that turns heads everywhere. If you’re looking for the best value track car that’s reliable, fun, and capable, the SS 1LE is hands-down the winner.!!!!
I factory ordered new my ‘23 SS 6 speed and love it. Keeping this and my factory ordered new ‘19 7 speed Grand Sport forever. Considering one day down the road adding a 6 speed CT5 Blackwing to my small fleet. Be curious to know your thoughts on the Blackwing. I know you have praised the Blackwing but is it really worth the $50k or so spread from the Camaro SS? Worked on the GM account years ago with Michelin. We had an office in Troy by the old defunct Kmart HQ. Really enjoy your videos. The roads you drive bring back memories from my Michigan days
I think the C8 platform, along with the Z06 and new ZR1 cost so much money to develop, that they had to eliminate the Camaro. If that were true (I'm just guessing) I think the American people would have voted to keep the Camaro, and keep the older front engine C7 Corvette layout to have both.
Welcome to the club. I have a '23 SS 6spd as well, only 11k miles so far. It's a special car. The only mods I've done is a cold air intake, LT2 intake manifold and Corsa NPP exhaust. I've also dressed up the cockpit with some CF trim and now the car is perfect. I've gotten 25-26mpg cruising between 70-75 mph on long trips. It sounds amazing, handles great and looks great. Even the visibility issue goes away after some seat time, especially on the 2SS. Enjoy...
Have a 2022 Camaro 1LT with the V8, manual, Brembo's, Bose Stereo, and Recaro's. Don't plan on buying another car for 10 years. You're gonna love it, congrats.
Your earlier video showcasing this car was one of the reasons I ordered a six-speed '23 SS 1LE, and sprang for the 2SS package as well. I could not be happier. You are absolutely spot-on about skip shift being annoying, and the burbles getting a TINY bit old eventually. Otherwise, the NPP exhaust is fantastic, the performance is insane (and i have not found the true limits of the car yet), and the sound system is incredible and never gets old. I walk into my garage, nearing two years of ownership, and still cannot believe it's mine. Congrats on your success and the new-to-you car! I hope you never tire of it, because I intend to keep mine until the bitter end! And thanks for being part of my inspiration to buy this awesome piece of automobile history!
There is a very cheap after market skip shift plug that would erase that feature and make you a happy shifter, they way it should come out from the dealer.
@jmmch3358 I bought one from Amazon and just haven't installed it (laziness on my part). I've pretty much trained myself to rev it a little higher when shifting out of 1st so it doesn't skip normally, but when I first start it and I'm trying to keep the revs low it still gets me occasionally. I think I'll take your comment as the impetus to install that plug and finally be done with it. I believe the term is "living with deficiencies"!
As a 6th gen owner, and a dealer parts guy, make sure you always check the harness that runs down from the trunk lid when you close it. Sometimes they like to fold inward and get wedged on the trunk seal, causing a leak that gets the rear fuse block, the corrosion will creep into the body harness. I wouldn't panic over it, just make sure to pay attention. Enjoy the car sir!
Had an '18 SS 1LE since 2019 Loved all your camaro reviews, you've done the platform justice. While it's still slept on by most, super stoked to see what you do with it. Also in the settings under driver modes, the "stealth" exhaust option keeps the valves closed all the time, it's not attached to any of the drive modes
Nice addition! I got my 23 SS 1LE last February, put in high temp brake fluid and took it to ten track days. It didn't miss a beat, amazing to have a stock car that will track all day with no overheating issues or mods needed. The burbles can be controlled by not fully letting off the gas, or clutching in. Got mine PPF'd, ceramic and undercoated and am driving it all winter, glad you're doing the same!
I considered a Camaro LT1 but decided to get a Chevy SS back in 2021. Nothing beats the sound of a NA V8 and with winter tires, they are surprising good in the snow!
I leased a 22’ LT1 with tech package, RS pkg and NPP exhaust with the manual I had it for 18 months but needed a better winter vehicle so I sold it for $1750 over what I had on lease. It was a fun car for sure and did feel well built like you said. One of the first things I did was the skip shift eliminator because I through the transmission was broke the first time it happened to me. Or I forgot how to drive lol. So many people never believed the NPP exhaust was stock but I did nothing to it. I purely got this as a fun car and it would have been nice to keep. Definitely miss it and I’m a Ford guy.
Congratulations! :) I am really so happy for you and very excited to see this car on the channel some more. What a great car honestly. Enjoy and "immer gute Fahrt!" as we say in Germany!
Just watched the whole video without skipping a second, you’re definitely the exact buyer Chevy had in mind for this car. You appreciate the pure rawness and performance, that’s what this car is all about. I’ve had my 2021 for almost 4 years and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to part with it. Hit me up if you ever have questions, and enjoy that thing!
Nice choice my friend! I bought a 2017 1SS/1LE seven years ago and it has been the best performance car I have ever owned in all facets of driving...daily driving, autocross, track events, etc. I paid 40K for it out the door new back then, and consider it then (and now) the best bang for the buck performance GM has produced in the modern era. Sadly, they aren't making them anymore, so hold on to that one and enjoy it!
I'm excited to see more. This gen of Camaro has never really appealed to me, but maybe I haven't given it the proper time of day. Looks like a riot to drive. Looking forward to the first track driving video!
Hell yeah man, welcome to the Camaro community!! The 1LEs in every trim, from the 4 banger that Randy Pobst himself owned, to the screaming V6, and all the way to the absolute track weapon race car of the ZL1 1LE, are absolutely amazing cars. They are some of the *best* driver’s cars ever produced, genuinely, and the SS 1LE is legitimately one of the most well-balanced sports/track cars from factory. The fact that GM gave you a track warranty with these things is awesome. Hell, all of the 6th gens are wonderful performance cars. I own a Gen 5 myself, which is a car that I’ll never sell (adore my girl), but a 6th gen will definitely find its way beside it one day in the future!
@ Because he loves the Alpha chassis that much and didn’t need that much power? He simply wanted a fun car to throw around, and that’s what the 4-banger offers.
I love my Camaros but unfortunately the Camaro community is beyond toxic. My twin has a 7th Gen Mustang and the Mustang community is 😇 compared to what I've encountered with the Camaro community. Questionably deciding if I should go to the other side.
@@twins4life274 I haven’t experienced that myself, but you’ll always have some bad actors in any community, Mustang included from my experience. The Camaro community has been mostly very welcoming and helpful to me over the years.
@@danieldickerson4838 I wish I could say that I've had pleasant experiences with Camaro owners/community. It is like night and day between the Camaro and Mustang communities. You simply cannot have an opinion in the Camaro community.
gosh man, every time i check out your channel you're picking up another one of my dream dailies. you have excellent taste, and thank you for showing us what the ideal dream is without being absolutely bonkers like buying some crazy super car or something. I know you'll definitely own even crazier cars, but I appreciate being able to relate to you. you fulfill the normal man. much love
Absolutely awesome car. Had a 2018 model SS1LE, which was only different than this cosmetically. Got diagnosed with a chronic disease and had to take life in a different direction. I always find myself wishing I had my Camaro back. It's also sad to see how few people realize how much faster this car is for the $ than any Mustang, and it's faster than the Supra at the track from the factory.
Congrats on the new car. Rented a 2017 2SS several times. Probably the most fun car I've ever driven outside of a modded mk5 supra. The noise is so amazing, fast af, grips really well, the 1LE is probably a grip machine.
Welcome to the american power brotherhood! I've only been trying to get you into something with a V8 for decades. Can't wait to get to track day with you soon! Congrats!
2023 VOM Camaro 1SS 6spd here. Absolutely the best bang for the buck sport/muscle car out there. Yours being a 1LE is the cherry on top. 👍 I need to stop slacking and get a baby seat for mine so I can take my daughter and wife to the car shows. We have another car for the baby so never thought about getting a seat for the Camaro. Thanks for showing it can be done.
I've had a 6th gen SS for 8 years now and still have no plans to replace it. Been taking it to Waterford Hills and Gingerman every summer. It's such a great performance car. Congrats and can't wait for the track videos.
Hell yeah man welcome to the Camaro family! I was debating getting a 6th gen SS vs my 5th gen ZL1. Found a good deal on my ZL1 so I went that route but when it kicks the can I think a 2018 2SS 1LE will be my next move. Great looking car!
I did the same. I went from a 5th gen Camaro ZL1 AT to a C7 Corvette Z51 (I loved the looks of the car) then back to a 6th gen Camaro SS. My 5th gen ZL1 had a more muscle car compared to the non ZL1 6th gen Camaro SS. The SC had a whining sound to die for and its Recaro seats looked awsome but were a pain to claim in our out of them, very high bolstering. The C7 Corvette looked amazing compared to my Camaros but it was very unreliable compared to my Camaros. The 6th gen Camaro is the perfect handling Camaro with its Alpha Chassis and much less weight. I'm repent of letting go of my 5th gen ZL1 because 5th and 6th gen ZL1 are like jewels. You almost don't see them in the street while other Camaros and Vettes are everywhere and their resale price keeps very high. Of the 3 cars my ZL1 got all the attention of people looking at it and even asking me to open my hood.👍🤗
This is awesome! I watched your review so many times before pulling the plug and getting one! It took a lot of work to get an allocation but it paid off and definitely well worth it.
There is secret modes, double click the traction control twice and press down on the modes. It will put you into a special mode when you can activate Possy and some of the other stuff.
Congrats on your new car topher!! Cant wait to see this on track and against the CT4V. Also, 19:10 very scary when you say you're going to be a menace to society LOL
As a fellow Camaro owner, thank you so much for making this video and truly showing the sheer joy of owning this car. Going on 5 years of ownership of my 2018 2SS Hot Wheels Edition Camaro and it just does not get old and ive put 45k miles on her (55k total). Congrats, bro!
Congratulations on your the purchase of the 2SS 1LE. I sold my Mach 1 and purchased a 2024 Camaro 2SS after your review on this car. Glad I got the Camaro and thanks for the great review. Enjoy the 1LE!
After driving the 2SS for quite awhile I felt it handled better, had better low end torque and the shifter was better. The 2SS I got is very close to a 1LE- magnaride, 6MT, copper free ZL1 brakes and the upgraded exhaust. Plus it is the Riptide Blue which was a 2024 only color. No regrets.
I just sold my Riverside Blue 2021 2SS 1LE... I really miss it man but I had a lot of time and miles with it! Ripping it through the tail of the dragon and the smoky mountains was the highlight of all the road trips. Enjoy the car its amazing!
Congrats, Chris!! I loved your video of you driving the 2013 SS 1LE on your channel. This is my favorite naturally aspirated Camaro SS ever! Great choice going with the 1LE pkg! I can't wait to watch all the videos you make of this incredible machine! Happy New Year! 🍻
Congratulations! 1LE ftw! Got a ‘23 and it’s the best car I’ve owned. It can more than hold its own on track and is comfortable on the road. I run stock brakes all around. Castrol SRF. Stock tires with -2.6 front and -1.5 rear. I’m happy with the life of the tires and brakes for the money.
Heck yeah man!!!! Savagegeese also just bought one! 2 of my favorite reviewers!! I have a 21 2SS 1LE, ALSO came from a FK8 Civic Type R, have no regrets what so ever!! In love
6th gen camaros still getting some love after it gets discontinued! Got my 2018 ZL1 6spd for sub 60k brand new and still havent modified it. After over 6 years, i still dont want to let it go! Had a 350z and modified subaru sti, gr86, and nb miata. This camaro is fun even at low speeds… cruises well and shines when pushed to its limits. Having my camaro zl1 and a miata together was just great!
I have the EXACT same car to the color, year, stick, everything. I have headers, Corsa exhaust and an E85 tune. The car is an absolute blast and I love it. I daily it but it's garage kept and I avoid cold temps and rain if I can. I live a few hours from the Tail of the Dragon and I have had it on there half a dozen times. It's at home there. I hope you enjoy the car as much as I have!
Many many years ago, my mother bought an RS that was loaded. It was luxurious for the times (I believe a 1995 Model). It was basically a base model, but with leather, t-tops, power everything, and a nice body kit. But it also had a really sweet Bose sound system. I have had all kinds of car stereos over my life, but that stereo, in that small space, is still my favorite of all time. I would imagine a 2023 version is even that much better.
Congrats! I have had a 18 SS 1LE M6 in summit white for 2 years now, put 15,000 miles on it. I haven't had any problems with it, I'm getting the itch to trade it in for a ZL1 but I have heard from some that the LT4 is to much powwah for the street
I’m from a completely different clan here - I have a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon with the 6 speed manual. Came to say I wish I had that auto rev match. It’s so satisfying. No hate to automatics, but nothing will match the experience of a manual transmission for those who enjoy it. Ignore any haters you come across. That is a lovely car you have there and may it last you 300,000 miles of joy.
Bought a 2023 6MT SS convertible a little over a year ago. Almost 1500 miles on it, so have not pushed it too hard. Options include magna ride, recaros dual mode exhaust, lots of alcantara. Definitely a fun car/drivers car. Also have a 2017 BMW M240i 6MT, a 2004 6MT GTO and a 1988 5MT Alfa Romeo Milano Verde.
I previously had a SS 1LE. Basically my favorite car. I sadly hydroplaned off the freeway into water… so that car was gone. I will say one thing about the car that NEEDED replacing were the Goodyear eagle f1 tires. They literally did not have grip unless it was a HOT day and the tires were warm after like 20 minutes of driving. Got Michelin pilot 4s and they were softer, quieter and way more grip all the time. Also the GY tires turned into ice below 45 degrees.
Congrats Topher! It's funny. I caught your video RIGHT after taking my 23' LT1 out for a drive. Had a bit of fun with a Mustang GT on the way home! Even though my Camaro is no SS1LE, I still love the hell out of the car. May your SS 11LE treat you well and bring you many moments of joy!
I own a 22 2SS 1LE M6 I was going for the same color you got but Chevy canceled my order so I have it in black after I found one with almost no miles. I think you will thoroughly enjoy it I love mine with every fiber in my body I am excited to hear your perspective on it the longer you own it. Congratulations on the new car I hope you love it as much as I do.
Beautiful car. I'm an owner of a 2024 2ss 1le and I genuinely don't see how cars can get any better and more fun. (unless its a zl1 1le). Hope you have a good and safe journey with this car.
Congrats! I have a '18 setup for autox and track. OEM wheels and SC3s are great for HPDEs, but you can fit 18x12 square if you want more. Get some Ferodo DS3.12 brake pads and Brembo HT64C fluid and send it! You can swap between oem pads (Ferodo HP`1000) and 3.12s without re-bedding. It's a great car, I also have an Elantra N for a dd though. Your car has way more of a burble tune, so I guess you can change it, but I wouldn't risk a warranty denial.
This and some version of the Ford Mustang with a manual transmission is really like the next best thing I would probably want. Higher horsepower, manual transmission cars in a rear-wheel drive format that is actually affordable for a normal person is definitely on the wish list. Hopefully some day.
Incredible cars. Loved every minute I've had my 17 2SS 6MT. Bought mine early 2021.Every option but a sunroof. Magride is so so good. Car makes anyone feel like a great driver. Over about 15000 miles in mine, over 4yrs, I've averaged 22mpg. On the highway, in hilly East TN even, it's quite easy to average 29-32 on the hwy. I'd say 34-36 is possible in the Midwest with some slight pedal maturity. Excellent car. The chassis is so good.
lol! been waiting to see this video for years now. Hoping to have one of these in my garage at some point, but I haven't been able to justify it since I don't really go to track days or anything. Always tempting though. Congrats on the new car! SS 1LE's are awesome, as you well know, and I hope it treats you well. Looks like a pretty perfect spec as well.
I have a Black 2021 2ss 1le A10...i love it!! Bought it brand new almost 4 years ago , the dealership gave me lifetime powertrain warranty, lifetime wheel alignment and lifetime oil changes , not one problem from it, it puts a smile on my face everytime i hop in it.. its an amazing handling car. You will enjoy it, i thought about selling it for a Zl1 but mine hits 130 so quick that i dont really think i need anything faster, and i really dont want to lose the warranty but the extra 200hp would be awesome!! Nice car! Enjoy!!
Congrats, gorgeous spec and perfection when it comes to a real driver's car. Amazing performance and looks, I got the first year of the comeback back in the day, 2010 2SS RS. Enjoy!!
As a 6th gen owner for nearly 8 years it’s criminal what GM did to the Camaro. Some tweaks to the practicality and it would be the perfect sports car. Unfortunately, Mary Barra gave up on cool cars outside of expensive Vettes.
Yes its too sad, the 6th gen Camaro was very close to perfection. Somewhere I read that they also let go of the 6th gen Camaro because they didn't want any competition for their newer more expensive Corvette C8. I consider this a BIG mistake by Mary Ibarra and GM because they lost their competition against Ford and Dodge in the Muscle car territory.😢👎
I've daily driven a Hyper Blue 2018 SS 1LE since new. Now has 62000 miles and dozens of track days and it hasn't missed a beat. Only major maintenance I've had to do besides usual consumables was replace the vinyl hood wrap earlier this year - too much UV damage from California sun. You're absolutely right that this is one of the best performance car bargains out there, especially in the 30-40k range. If my car got totaled tomorrow I'd probably just buy another one while I still can. With regards to the brake pads, unless you're running a dedicated track wheel/tire setup I don't think it's worth it to swap pads. The OE pads are honestly fine, especially if your car has the larger copper-free brake that was available on the 2022s onward (code BCD). On stock pads the pedal gets a little soft after many laps of the highest speed tracks, but it's still perfectly serviceable for normal track-day driving. Not worth the squealing and increased rotor wear that comes with track pads (a full OE rotor set is about $2000 in parts alone).
Been saying this for a couple years now. The Camaro SS is THE car to buy if you want cheap performance. The car is a brute. Never drove the 1LE, but the regular one alone has decent handling given the size, along with just BRUTAL sound and power. Easily the better choice over the Mustang/Mopars IMO.
Topher, i know you won’t see this, but you literally have my dream car. my girl just bought me a hoodie with the outlines of this exact spec (2SS 2023) and im neither jealous or envious… im DETERMINED to get this Camaro. this is the perfect spec for me too. i just need it to be yellow (like bumblebee) ;). i’m glad you bought this.
I remember when you said you were going to keep the CTR stock. You say the same thing about this. I'm calling it now - it won't remain stock :) lol. good purchase dude! PS: I'd love to hear commentary on CTR vs. this. They're VERY different cars and all but who cares I'd be interested in a comparison video because why not?
I recall test driving this and a C8 Corvette right after. I know Corvette fans will think this sacrilege but I was SHOCKED at how similar the 2SS 1LE drove compared to the C8 Corvette.
Congrats! I just picked up a 2020 Camaro SS 1LE with 27k miles a few weeks ago. Mine has summer tires in it so I haven't been driving it too much since it's been cold.
Very nice! I bought a '22 1LE last April I don't get to drive it much as I'm only home one week out the month but I enjoy it and its about to be paid off 🎉 Hope you enjoy the ride!
Awesomeness. 6 speed too! I have same color. Never get tired of the exhaust. Also, it's a Camaro tat love the whole RPM range. You don't need to shift before 2700 RPM's so you don’t need skip shift.
Randy Probst said it himself … this car is the darling of American pony cars. And the fact that the factory no longer produces these. I own both a blk SS 1LE. And a 24 ZL1. I love them. I will never rid of them unless chevy does a V8 7th gen!
Im far from having an SS but I've got a 2015 1LT w/ 6spd manual and it's such a great car! Yes it's a V6 but man does it put the power down and handles like no other car. Also has been to most reliable for me so I daily it in all weather conditions right now. Not a chevy guy by any means I just love the Camaro cause of bumble bee, but honestly has been the best car I've driven so far. Have yet to get my hands on other vehicles so that doesn't say too much.
My God. Congrats! I would never be able to go anywhere because I would give trying to decide which car to take! Looking forward to more Camaro Content!
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO When I saw you review one a while back I knew you had to get one. Haven’t driven one but just heard it’s peak sports car/muscle car. Dream car for me, can’t wait to see how you enjoy it man, congrats
Omg I’ve been wondering if you were going to get one. These things are FANTASTIC! Watched through; couple things: Even after 60k miles, the speed still really creeps up on you. Gears are too long which doesn’t help. And mine barely pops at all (pre-facelift 2018). Best setup for me remains traction & stability off, but I’ll use PTM wet in the dry (for the limiter cut noises) and PTM Race in the wet (fun + more limiter cut) sometimes. I’ve averaged 17.8 mpg over 64,000 miles, but I’ve seen over 30mpg multiple times if I really try on the highway.
This man has once again added one of my dream cars to his garage. Congrats, I'm not jealous at all.

Which is surprising cause Toyota and Hyundai and other brands with "track focused" cars are denying claims left and right for "improper use"
@WyFoster was the one that blew up an auto or manual?
@maziyarebrahimi997 Auto. Low oil pressure alarm. Took it to them, they said you need a new engine. Back a couple weeks later.
@WyFoster my brother has a '18 with over 200k miles now. The complete opposite of a car guy too super late oil changes hell probably skipped some and runs the cheapest oil a drive in lube service will give him. I managed to convince my uncle to buy a new Camaro SS 1LE as the ultimate track car for the money-and I even wrote a PDF outlining all the reasons why. Here’s the breakdown:
1. Incredible Value: The SS 1LE offers performance and features that rival much more expensive cars, making it the best bang-for-your-buck track car.
2. Manual Transmission: It still comes with a proper Tremec manual, which delivers an engaging, pure driving experience.

Nailed it! That pretty much sums it up for me 👍
best first comment I have ever seen
@@timothybracken1728 This is why I bought my 2018 in Garnet Red.
You would think with the Corvette going mid engine that the Camaro would’ve gained new life. Shame they discontinued it
they suck for discontinuing it.
Allergic to money
You can thank the woke left EPA for that and the destruction of the US car industry and it''s by design.
They didn’t do enough to keep new purchasers interested unfortunately. I’m never trading mine in though. Best car I’ve ever owned
You mean LT1, 1LT is a separate trim that offers 4 cyl or V6
Is that the root cause of the trunk leaks in the 6th Gens? I have an '18, never had it leak but I've seen the damage it can do if it does.
Now that's a top shelf tip.
If it’s been a few years of it being slightly corroded with no issues is it good or just a matter of time before the harness fails?
I never had that issue on my '16 Camaro SS2
lol GM
He has a carseat in the back! I need to show my wife this asap! Thank you!
Finally a v8 in the line up.
Now you can easily compare differences between 4,6 and 8 cylinders.
His GX was actually a V8 but this is his first American pushrod V8
Just bought one of these in winter of 2023 and it's a fantastic car! Drove from Ohio to New York for it and the thing sticks to the road like glue.
Got 86k miles on my ‘18 SS 1LE! Time and miles have flown by. Such a blast to drive.
I have a 2024 1SS 6MT. 10k miles and 22.9mpg. It’s an incredible car.
My father owns 2021 Camaro LT1 with the 10-speed auto and it absolutely bangs gear! Best American NA V8! He lets me drive it on the weekends.
Manual ss?
@@Moecean unfortunately not. The manual ones are tough to find and more pricey.
@JCP519 yeah they sure are. Saving my money and keeping my eye out for a gxp or a ss manual
I leased a 22’ LT1 with tech package, RS pkg and NPP exhaust with the manual
I had it for 18 months but needed a better winter vehicle so I sold it for $1750 over what I had on lease.
You need to drive one, for you to see the oustanding difference on driving performance
Imo 2020 and newer is the best version of the 6th Gen. I have a pair of late 6th gen Camaros, I named them Blade and Bleu.
I never understood why Randy Pobst went for a 4 cylinders 1LE instead of the V8 SS1LE 🤷
5:11 - Ooooh CT4-VBW and Elantra N comparison sounds delightful.
I need to stop slacking and get a baby seat for mine so I can take my daughter and wife to the car shows.
The car is gorgeous man, got myself a 2019 manual 1ss and it drives great… can’t imagine how good that 1LE drives!
Congratulations! Welcome to the Camaro family 👍🏻👍🏻
Buddy took me for a ride in one of these some time last year. Absolutely nuts how much balls and personality these have. Great colour too. Enjoy.
Congratulations on your the purchase of the 2SS 1LE. I sold my Mach 1 and purchased a 2024 Camaro 2SS after your review on this car. Glad I got the Camaro and thanks for the great review. Enjoy the 1LE!
You got a SS instead of the SS1LE after you let go of your Mach l?
What are you driving now
@@fzr1000981 I sold it because Im saving to buy a house, so Im driving a Kia K5 GT now. It does its job lol
@@TheAow4321But you would really miss your Camaro
@TheAow4321 that's a big step down haha
I'm driving a 2025 M2 but had an SS and ZL1
Congrats, Chris!! I loved your video of you driving the 2013 SS 1LE on your channel. This is my favorite naturally aspirated Camaro SS ever! Great choice going with the 1LE pkg! I can't wait to watch all the videos you make of this incredible machine! Happy New Year! 🍻
I've had my 2018 ss 1le for 6 years now and absolutely one of the best cars ever. Love everything about it
Congratulations!
The alpha platform is remarkable! Congrats on your new ride!
I have an A-10 2023 1LE in sharkskin. Its FBO with VMS wheels and has to go to sleep for winter atm. Been my fav car I have owned.
Congrats Topher! An amazing car! Sad to see it not being continued.
Congratulations!! This is an awesome spec and I know how long you’ve wanted one of these. These drive so well, this put a big smile on my face :)
A dealership near me just got a ZL1 1LE on trade in and I've wanted one for a while. I did not need this video to pop up in my feed today....
Great as a track warrior, but the ZL1 1LE would be too harsh to drive as a DD
@ I’d keep my F150 Raptor as my daily driver
Congrats Topher on the new purchase!
I sometimes fantasize about driving this car (or the ZL1) on the Autobahn flat out with U2's 'Bad Live' playing full blast….😁
Im a mustang guy at heart (5.0 owner) but man those 1LE Camaros are flat out awesome!!!!
I've been considering an SS 1LE too. I can't think of anything else that has a manual, V8, and handles well for the price
I cannot wait to see it!!!!
Beautiful car. I'm an owner of a 2024 2ss 1le and I genuinely don't see how cars can get any better and more fun. (unless its a zl1 1le). Hope you have a good and safe journey with this car.
I miss mine dearly. Had an 18 garnet red tintcoat 6 speed. Best car i ever owned.
Garnet is the best of the reds. Hands down.
Same here
Nice car! Enjoy!!
Lifetime warranty? I think you got an extended warranty
Gonna have my 2018 SS for a long time and upgrade to this body style in the future
Not a Camaro fanboy, but the SS 1LE is one of the bargains of the century. Nice pick!
This car (particularly the sound of its V8) makes me wanna stand up, salute and say "God bless America" (and im not even a Yank nor do i live there)😂
I remember when you said you were going to keep the CTR stock.
Probably yes and based on SavageGeese review the C7 Corvette GS performs better at the track compared to the newer ME C8 Z51
Congrats! I just picked up a 2020 Camaro SS 1LE with 27k miles a few weeks ago. Mine has summer tires in it so I haven't been driving it too much since it's been cold.
Welcome to the club! I have a ‘24 2SS convertible and love it, always puts a smile on my face, especially rowing through the gears.😁
I totally agree the Bose sound system is absolutely stunning in this car and a proud Camaro owner that's not afraid to drive his camaro in the winter.
Very nice! I bought a '22 1LE last April I don't get to drive it much as I'm only home one week out the month but I enjoy it and its about to be paid off 🎉
Hope you enjoy the ride!
Which one do you prefer, the ZL1 or the SS1LE? Both are oustanding performance sport cars👍
Topher I recommend you check out Cameron Hill’s tuned 2019 Camaro SS review. A badass and raw example of how wild these can be
No lifts included
Might not be the worst idea to use a radar for this one lol
Im far from having an SS but I've got a 2015 1LT w/ 6spd manual and it's such a great car! Yes it's a V6 but man does it put the power down and handles like no other car. Also has been to most reliable for me so I daily it in all weather conditions right now. Not a chevy guy by any means I just love the Camaro cause of bumble bee, but honestly has been the best car I've driven so far. Have yet to get my hands on other vehicles so that doesn't say too much.
Chris, I commend you for immediately taking this Camaro to Krown. 👍👍 Is this the first time you have owned a car made in Michigan? 🤔
Well its about time 😅 Ive had 2 and now ZL1. These are amazing cars. Your going to absolutely love it. The hardest part is keeping them under 100
I wish Chevy has not discontinued the production of Camaro, should havw improved its interior
Love the steering wheel and dash. Very nice interior overall, no annoying tech. Is there a manual parking brake or only electronic?
Only electronic parkingbrake
Those winter tires look like drag slicks 🤣 Love em
I wondered how Topher can afford such a lineup, but after watching 37 ads in order to complete this video...I think I know how
My God. Congrats! I would never be able to go anywhere because I would give trying to decide which car to take! Looking forward to more Camaro Content!
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOO
When I saw you review one a while back I knew you had to get one. Haven’t driven one but just heard it’s peak sports car/muscle car. Dream car for me, can’t wait to see how you enjoy it man, congrats
Omg I’ve been wondering if you were going to get one. These things are FANTASTIC!
Watched through; couple things:
Even after 60k miles, the speed still really creeps up on you.
I had a 2018 and no pops. I think they added that with the refresh from what I see.
Good job, Chris--I enjoy watching you catch those slides in a blink. Happy travels!
Great choice! I just picked up a 5th Gen 1LE a couple months ago. What a blast to drive these cars.
1LE are very special.
But the driving performance of 6th gen Camaro with its Alpha chassis with lighter weight is much better than the previous gen
