@@coffeepandacat Sounds good! :)
I've loved Philly every time I've been there. Maybe someday I'll move there. 🤞
Do you see many Californians there?
Yes a bunch!
@@lillianogugua I hear a lot about people being ummmmm, "less than enthusiastic" about Californians when we move to some regions. How do you feel the general vibe is there about California transplants?
@@MattCouzensMusic lol I don’t think that’s the case. From my experience.
girl there is no "right side" of gentrification, what a terrible take you have on that. How is being on the right side joining in and further displacing and exploiting poor people?? just cruel.
Sorry you feel that way! If we own, then we don’t displace our place at all. If we don’t own, then we have no control. Maybe we can agree to disagree. Best wishes tho!
I would point out all the terrible things done to black aka aboriginals people behind the scenes gentrification is just a small part of it but if people don’t know by now or even care enough about our people our kids to get educated to even be able to hold yourself accountable or to see what we really up against then I feel sorry for them it’s like fighting a war you can’t see and most of our people are in a coward stage instead of trying to build our own we run and blame ourselves
@Myles Brown so are you saying african Americans don’t have the capacity to afford market rent rates? Maybe we should focus on ways to increase our incomes instead of trying to figure out ways to remain in financially vulnerable situations
I wanna move here to attend temple bye bye San Diego 🙂
I’m looking in moving in the few years so I’m looking at possibilities now. What is your take on multicultural families moving in (I’m a single white with 3 preschool AA children) and being safe
No one should be moving to Philly . They should be running away in horror.
🎯
The only thing that i hate about philadelphia is all the crime, it has gotten so bad over the years. Philadelphia can really improve this but doesnt, mayor doesnt do anything about gun control and the governor does nothing with infastructure which is neeeded
It's improving slowly but surely!
No it's not.. stop telling ppl that! My city is dying
Are there any safe parts of Philly? All I hear about is the crime smh
@@Christopher-tr1xu Safe parts are becoming harder to fine sadly, northwest philly is okay right now but they are starting to get more dirty, congested with traffic, and overpopulation. The best near philly is definently Jersey or surrounding counties
@@jonathan-py1nf forgive me, but who are all these white ppl telling me that those areas (chestnut hill, Roxborough-Manayunk) are safe? Do the degenerates only target their own people?
Thank you for this video moving to Philly for law school. Hope it’s easy to meet people lol
I’m sure it will be. When are you moving?
@@lillianogugua I will be out there in the middle of next month!
@@sevenintheam Oh great! Welcome! Let me know if you need help finding a place to rent or buy 😊
Even if you own you want more ya people to be able to buy and re development instead of allowing to much outsiders
This was 2 years ago. Has your views changed?
Nope 😅
You throw your trash in the trash and you take out your trash once a week the trash people will never pick it up and the rats and alley cats will have your trash all over the front yard.
No pros. Moving to this cesspool was the worst mistake
Great info cause im looking to move to Philly in the summer. Parking so ass though!
Facts! Catch me on a bike lol
I've seen videos of trash laying around in Philly people always wanna "rep" their city but wont help keep it clean smh
Yea that’s definitely a frustrating part of it. All you can do is hold yourself accountable so I never litter
You only been here for a year
Sorry if you feel nobody can give their opinion. Thought it was a free country. Be blessed tho
I agree with you on gentrification! Instead of us complaining get on train ride. Gentrification improves neighborhoods whether we like it on not. Look at Fishtown for example.
Soon after I attained my degree I left killadelphia for good! Its a shame temple university and the other good universities are located in the ghetto slums. Anyways I’ve been so much happier now!
It’s getting better!
It’s like that in a lot of cities even where I’m from I worked in phili for two years and lived in LA New Orleans Houston San Diego and they all have schools in really messed up areas it’s a shame cause kids have to go through this LA doesn’t look like it’s rough but they have a major gang problem you have to watch what colors you wear and hats and shoes belong to some kind of gang and all they do is set trip and ride around killing even innocent people and even elderly
No Philly have murders everyday 500 murders already an the year is not out yet
@@tdavis6635I live in Los Angeles now and the culture is so diverse. California has more job opportunities in my field and best of luck if you plan to live in Philly.
If your black with a degree you might make out well in Philly as an African American. Philly is not a easy place to live in I've lived here all my life and I'm tryna get out .Food is good here , interesting ppl here ,housing is a mf tho .
I understand what you’re saying. In certain areas it is not easy to live just like anywhere else in the world but as you know many successful people have come from Philly. Things are getting better!
Your Video was very informative and you have a nice Aura about you however your view on gentrification is Off!!. I have lived in Philadelphia all of my life and I do have Much love for it. Philadelphia has become an extremely dangerous place to live. I didn't really feel this until last year😢. There is lots of historical places and Activities to do in Philly but You may get caught in Crossfire doing them or Carjacked on your way to the Event🔫. There are lots of Rodents in Philly also. Drugs and Opioids are problematic. I live on the Outskirts of Philly and enjoy it because Its still close to home. 🏠
Thanks for your input. In my opinion, Philly is getting much better
Gentrification as a pro is crazy
It is not. It is a pro. It makes neighborhoods better
A lot of people do own there homes in Philadelphia
But gentrification there taxes and other fees go up
And they have to sell
Taxes go up everywhere
Question for you ,what kind of cheese goes on a real Philly cheese steak ??? I'll wait 😆
Vegan cheese for me 😁😂
LOVE 215 but DO NOT MOVE TO PHILLY
Please hoop to do business
Thank you so much for your video, and also your view on gentrification!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching 😊
You can’t be Nigerian-American and African-American unless you’re mixed sister. The gentrification comment wouldn’t be said by a Black/African American.
There is no Affordable housing in Philly . Not for Black women with children. If you're a black woman with children Philly is not the place for you
Get a better paying job or go to the suburbs
Your take on gentrification is kinda shocking. Like, how is someone supposed to just flip from renting to owning? Don’t you think if they were in the position to buy real estate they would?
Begging every for your own safety don't move to Philly
Are there any safe places in Philly?
Facts...too dangerous now
@@Christopher-tr1xu no.. even the "nice" neighborhoods aren't safe anymore
@@mysharona6754 this applies to Chestnut Hill, Roxborough-Manayunk, Bustleton?
@@Christopher-tr1xu yes
You’re take on gentrification is correct. Just because we are minorities we are expected to live in underdeveloped areas. But if we buy when the area is crappy we can win!!
Glad you understand!
My thing is how do we buy when things are so expensive?
Yo wtf was that gentrification comment. Jesus christ.
@@Dfizzleshizzle1 what did Jesus do to you?
Philly has gotten worse. The most depressed city to live in. The people here don’t care about the city, hence all the trash on the street. Crime!!?? You could be barbecuing on your porch and get shot by a stray bullet in the afternoon.. I get why you like the city though. Coming from S Jersey is a change. I’m from N Jersey and moved here in 2012 and leaving this year. Yeah, Real Estate investing is great but not to live.
Lol I understand. It’s a big city and with any big city there are great areas and poverty stricken areas. You have to know which parts to live in
