  • Coming from a renowned fighting clan, Umar Nurmagomedov exhibits a completely different “style of smashing” in the cage. He has already burst into the bantamweight top-15 and is triumphantly following in the footsteps of his big brother, Khabib. Today we break down the career arc of the undefeated Dagestani prospect, who may soon become a rightful challenger for the UFC title.

I can’t find a way to send you a PM so although this comment section is about Umar (loved the video!) I would love to suggest Ramon Dekkers or Kaman, or possibly a shared video with the two Dutch kickboxers. I love your style and depth of investigation, your narration and editing and I’m dying to find out how a tribute to both of them would look like!

Wrestling has been their traditional national sport for centuries. It back-fired on the UFC giving wrestlers an advantage with the rule set. (they did this to give Americans an advantage as wrestling is popular in America, much more common than striking, and top strikers in America do boxing) Now the Dagestan's etc have rounded out their game with strong striking to add to the elite wrestling base. There have always been many Olympic gold medal wrestlers from this region, despite it's relatively low population.

They don't flaunt there success or go out drinking, partying. This is the true meaning of MMA martial arts 🥋. Not like Connor McGregor too loud, arrogant, his former team mate the Russian Hammer is suing him. What an example for the kids who are watching 👀 and want to be an MMA fighter. On the feet, their main assets are incredibly fast reflexes, speed and fight iq. Which are basically the 3 most important things you need in the striking.
