The first thing that killed this movie for me was realizing that it wasn’t a prequel, when I saw the iPhone and realized they were driving a smart car I was done, and then it just repeated the plot of the first movie and it was just dead several times over. I swear, if the next one takes place in a trailer park I’m gonna be even more disappointed 😅
I am a big fan of The Strangers 2008, didn’t like the sequel, but I was excited for this one. Thinking it was a prequel. I was soooo confused when I started to notice it was practically the same as the first one. I ended up a little frustrated and the more I think about it, the more the disappointment and annoyance increase.

So I saw this opening night and my thoughts are the exact same thoughts as yours. It was a beat for beat retelling of the 2008 film except not having the same impact that film did. I truly went into this film, pretty excited even though the 2008 film traumatized me. I was looking forward to seeing what new things this film will give us.
This movie is an inversion... from the perspective of the strangers... to empathize w their villainy... to show how the whole town is in on it... a woke movie for the mentally disturbed (instead of a horror film) cus this was a complete dumpster fire seen any other way 🍿🤯🤣🔥
I'm glad you bring up the acting, because I thought the male lead was really awful, and the girl is just okay but I don't think she's good or great by any means, her screams and emotion are not super impressive or effective, just okay.
I can't stand shot for shot remakes. (The omen, psycho redone with vince vaughn of all people! LOL and cabin fever...) such a waste. What does it accomplish? Nothing! Also, i really hate slashers where the main people have to be soooo incredibly dumb in order to make the movie progress! Why can't we get "smart slashers" where the final girl/guy is super smart and creative (think Violent Night 2022). Anyways, thanks for the warning and the review!
Huh I think prey at night was better than the original movie to be very honest I thought the original strangers movie was boring but prey at night was a lot better

I enjoy the movie for a completely different reason. I have lost count of so many dumb decisions the characters made throughout the movie. Pathetic but laughable. This movie should be a lessons of the things you should never do. I wonder would this movie rank in your top 10 worse this year. How are you doing today?

I may have some nostalgia for the first one. I do think a movie should be able to stand on its own though, even if the story is part of a trilogy and incomplete. Hoping the next two are better!
Sounds like vacancy to me just like original which came first strangers or vacancy almost exactly the same thing lol the sounds seeing people what did they do they stayed too actually trying to ignore them and not be scared would be smarter approach vs freaking out being scared that's what they want you to do
Get out of there the strangers are running around you don't stay here run get out of there course the strangers are around so if you try to run away they'll get you but f it lets get it over with its like the antagonist is outside do you stay outside with him or locked yourself in a place but yoh can't do that they're out there you gotta run outside where they are lol if rather wake up and see collage in bed with me especially the one in other movies she was hot lol I love the original so if this one is the same then yeah ill love this one lol its like if I love a Adam sandler movie then I see another one I must hate it cause he does the same thing in every movie lol all the Friday the13th movie sequels are doing the same thing as original I guess those are horrible even same scenes like instead of Jason jumping out of way mom is jumping out of water omg why aren't they being more creative lol
I'm holding you to that they better release the next one in a month on streaming I wanna know what happens in the next one and third one lol love the original always wanted more strangers finally getting more lol always wanted to learn more about them finally getting to lol they keep saying we gotta wait til October I don't want to like you said release it in a month and lets see what happened next lol
Their car was messed up they couldn't leave so if staying was dum I guess the smart decision would be to hike out of there and be walking in the woods in the middle of the night not to me is that smart I wouldn't feel sympathy for you lol
