Kite Trip Tips - Sri Lanka (Kalpitiya)

We've just spent one month in Sri Lanka, Kalpitiya without knowing that the World will turn upside down by the time we get back.
We really enjoyed our stay, our accommodation was right on the beach, close to the lagoon. The food made by locals was fresh and tasty every day and we had wind all the time.
Since all of us were keened on kitesurfing, we only dedicated a few days to sightseeing. Most of the sights were far, but we managed to visit: Dambulla, Sigiriya, the lagoon of Kalpitiya, the Magic Island and we spent most of our time on the ocean in front of Surfpoint.
Until only a few weeks ago we didn't expect that the freedom what we have while kitesurfing will not always be available.
In times like these we revaluate everything that we have, we have done so far and what we would like to do in the future. It is always good to look back on our previous trips, the beautiful places we've been at, but now it has more importance than ever before.
Thanks to kitesurfing we've met amazing people, we feel so fortunate. We wish everyone all the best, especially in these difficult times. Stay safe and hopefully see you soon in Sicily or somewhere around the Globe!
