You are absolutely correct on the mortality here in ocean city. We are not killing the vast majority of schoolie rocks. Maybe some where’s else, but the little guys here rarely get hurt on my boat. They are a blast! Great show partner!
Since MD the circle hook law in place in the Chesapeake, I am pretty were most released fish survive. They need to allow 20 inchers to be kept on the Atlantic side, and protect the big cows.
If they would let us keep a 22 incher once in a while my trips would be cut short on those days sparing the 10 percent mortality. I sometimes catch and release 40 fish in a couple of hours and never come close to a keeper size.
I doubt youll see this comment since this vid has been up for a while now but I'd be willing to bet that the marks on those bass are dolphin/porpoise bites
