Props on the release. I use my Penn Battle Spinner, I fish buzzards Bay. I use 3oz sinker than tie on 2 smelled eagle claw black fish hooks and green crabs. Never used a jig, wanna try that in October when they hit
I like the BULL BAY 7’6” REEL ANIMALS 8-17 lb test spinning rod VERY MUCH for both jigging tog and buck tailing fluke. Although my only complaint about it would be that it needs a slightly longer rod butt. Therefore, I may have mine extended 6”. And when I’m in need of another one, I’d have it built with a 6” butt extension.
Is that white grab illegal? Does it have to be certain size? Do you need permit for that? Got a few of them while attempt to trap green crabs but had throw it back because I thought it was illegal.
My god I would love to have a group of buddy's to travel to tog fish but I'm always alone...my buddies hate it..lol..someday we may fish together I hope
I’m coming out to ocean city from Maryland in April. Any tips on what kind of fish To expect around that time would be appreciated. Also what kind of gear and tackle works best in ocean city. It’s my first time fishing the east coast
Tautog. Boat fishing will be your best bet most likely. Maybe some fluke/ flounder closer to shore. It's hard to recommend equipment if I don't know exactly what type of trips you plan on doing. Shore or boat. April the water won't be too warm yet. Not too much biting most likely. Maybe some striped bass. But my strongest recommendation for success would be going on the party boat Morning Star.
why dont you let somebody else net the guys fish chief, your holding your rod while netting his fish, i wonder how you would feel if he did the same to you ?
Ok so you're criticizing me for netting our mate's fish one handed ( very capablely may I add ) while I'm a paying customer and I'm there to fish. Well I'm confident when it comes to netting fish because I've netted thousands of fish myself. If our mate and Captain drop down to fish " which they often do", that doesn't mean that suddenly I become the mate and I need to stop fishing. No sir. I'm a paying customer. I'm there to fish. And maybe you didn't notice our mate Kevin netting our Captain's fish ONE HANDED as well in an earlier segment of this video?
@@kenwesterfeldfishing2244 Ken not criticizing just stating if he lost that fish or possible pb because you didnt put your rod down to net it that would be bad and selfish is all bud,
Catch tons of the awesome fish in OC (check out our vids;) but never that size. Dang. But we stay inshore as well. Guess ya gotta get out to the wrecks for those monsters!! Awesome vid!!
“Football” is an understatement. Nice fish!
Nice pig, loving the fact that it was released
We can't release them all but we try our best.
Great vids, I'm from long island myself. I love going out of sheepshead bay for blackfish.

White crabs are not illegal no. you can pot your own yes. You can't keep under sized blue claws which are a different species entirely.
@@kenwesterfeldfishing2244 wow you reply to me right on time as I am about to trap them right now. Thank you for your confirmation!
@@vsonic86 very cool
Legal
That’s a nice bulldog and I’ve seen them bigger throwback the 12 15inch
size limit in Maryland is 16 inches strictly enforced

Hi Ken! I like your videos.Especially TOGZILA -4 part. I love blackfishing here in NY and wish to have more time to get to Ocean city Maryland. 👍
Hey what Rod you have again? I have nld2 lever drag. I'm looking to buy a Rod for it

@@ivanvejar7425 a wise choice I'm certain. Best of luck !
@@ivanvejar7425 oh and be sure to call and make reservation in advance.
great video, do you think having a colored sinker makes a difference with the bites. thanks
Not always. But I've seen evidence many times that I do believe that somehow it did improve the amount of bites that I received.
we've also experienced the same with jig colors at certain times.
@@kenwesterfeldfishing2244 thanks, love the content!

Hey Ken love your videos but no offense you talk more than skinner in your videos lol
