Holy crap, that looks like it was rendered in at LEAST an NES emulator. The music sounds legit as well. Which means that this whole video was put together manually using 6502 assembly code.
Someone...if anyone is out there, please make this a game with an interesting plot! I can't even begin to imagine what that would be or the controls! I do see Konata, Kagami, Tsukasa, and Miyuki as the playable characters, though.
I like that they recreated the sprite limit effect. Or perhaps this is actually from an actual .nes file that someone made. Either way, it's a cool animation.
Well, it's hard to tell a module from a real NES unless you're been working with NES sound for ages, so it could be a module. What they could hve done was program the video in the NES (not a very difficult task, really), and then made the music using a module, and put them together. That would be the easier way of doing it.
Why do people keep saying this sounds like SNES, it doesn't. It's supposed to sound like NES. SNES is 16-bit, NES is 8-bit. The name of the video makes it super obvious.
@markthewhalekiller See midiman10's cover in the related videos (or watch?v=lb9vyOlY6qk)-- it uses glissandos and pulse modulation to imitate the talking bits, and is utterly awesome. (And he even includes an .NSF file of it!)
I just completed my own version of Lucky Star 8-bit when, before I think of uploading it, I realized today that NicoNico Video is more than 2 years ahead of me. That's incredible! xD ★★★★★
Uh, no. I have an SNES. That's not what they sound like. Also, I've heard songs on SNES games that aren't out of key. You don't even know what "out of key" means, do you? Hell, you don't even know what a SNES sounds like
Wha it does look and sound like a real NES the sprite even do that flicker thing though programming an NES is fairly difficult only 2K working ram. Could be a C64 or MSX machine too easier to program though a real c64 would sound a lot better and it wasn't as popular in Japan so likely an MSX.
... no me gusta ... this just isnt a good song to 8-bit remix, dosent have enough tracks so it sounds a bit empty and has parts where people sing at an indefinite note (like just talking). anyway, the 8-bit images were good but to sum it up, this vid is not that great compared to HareHare Yukai Megaman
I love how you made it look all glichy at the cheerleading part, it looked like a real SNES game. =3
This 8 bit remix being so convoluted just makes me notice how instrumentally dense this OP is.

Definitely looks like something Konata would play! XD
Man, imagine if this was a real game...
I'd play it.

There is a lucky star game for the ds
何だろう、、、ファミコンへの大いなる愛を感じる
it would be really cool if they made a PRESS START screen for this

Damn, you even got the Patricia jiggle effect in. :3

Dude! That was awesome!! ... How the hell did you make that?!

Awsome!! just like the NES... or maybe the gameboy color?... anyway it's awsome!
Yep... everything is better when you make it 8-bit

You see this is a real game for the Famicon disk system, the Japanese doesnt want to share this game.
@cupninja They didn't make it, it's from Nico Nico Douga, read the description. .-.

Konata would be proud!
that was freaking sweet! =D
@markthewhalekiller
You know, 8-bitizing the song does work. Look up Rockman Lucky Star in TH-cam for an epic one.
I grew up with an SNES, thank-you very much.
i luv this so much i will watch this 4ever
That's how it should be. It's meant to be for a very old system like the SNES.
AMAZING!
Lol they've even got the flashing! Awesome!
完成度たけーな、おい!

Someone should make a rom hack for Lucky Star!
@Eldin4122 Oh the hypocrite that I am. >.< Thanks for pointing that out.
Famicon? it's look more like a Game Boy Color game.
Now do other 8-bit consoles.
I hear super mario bros underground at 0:31
@AYF91 Or gameboy color. I love it!!
Hmm.. Wouldnt be NES would be GBC, I have a pirated Digimon game with Graphics somewhat like this, and the music is also done in the same style. ">_>

Well, that was out of key, and poorly made
