Love the insight, Michael! Totally agree with the part about being thrust into a new environment and having to develop skills to talk to strangers and make new friends - there are pros & cons there and it may not be fun at the time but I think you'll find the skills you developed there to be valuable, especially after college.

The one about your friends completely reflect something that my parents told me when I was a child.Show me who your friends are.And I can tell you all about yourself

Very much relate to the whole being forced to build skills in meeting new people due to going to a different college than many others in high school

    Oooo so interesting!
I went to Lowell in San Francisco for HS, graduated in 2009 and almost all my peers were Asian
This public hs requires a resume in 8th grade to get imminence the school.
But I didn’t feel academic pressure to get into top schools nor my classmates.
Many went to Davis, UCSD, couple went to Cal, and 1/3 went to community college
One friend went to Northwestern, Vanderbilt
And valedictorian went to Stanford. I only knew about good schools researching while in college

Hey man, I just got accepted to cmu some how as a civil engineer and now I’m debating between cmu and georgie tech. I know cmu specializes in cs but is engineering just as strong and do you know if the job offers are just as good? I would appreciate some help because I’m lost rn
