@@fatimarodrigues6499 if i recall correctly, Medusa was raped by Poseidon in Athena's temple, she was one of her temple maids, sworn to chastity and all that. Well, Athena, instead of dealing with Poseidon, punished Medusa, by placing a curse on her. The curse being that no man could look upon her without being turned to stone.

I remember watching the original at the cinema as a young kid, the Medusa scene was terrifying, and I shut my eyes.
Is modern remake did it justice, even though the ‘critics’ said it was shite.
Really she is innocent woman. Medusa was devoted worshiper of Goddess Athena. She was beautiful lady. She served Godess Athena but the Goddess became jealous of beauty and admiration Medusa get for her beautiful hair and her elegance. When The Sea God forcefully sexually assaulted her then Goddesses Athena got a chance to defile her and cursed Medusa that she will be a Ogress and her beautiful hair will turne into snakes and if she look at anyone she or he will be converted into stone statue and after this curse Medusa began to live in a room of the temple of Athena hiding herself so that no one can come to her but one day her beloved friend came to meet her and when he came near him before she could forbid him then he turned into stone and after this incident all the kings and queens started to kill Medusa without anyone wrong done by her and finally Medusa was killed without any justification and good judgement for nothing. She was an innocent woman but had to bear all kinds of tortures and persecutions in her by others. Really tragically extremely sad thing. I feel extremely sadness for Medusa. Really heart touching story of Medusa. 1/11/23/.

Fantastic and sadly, the last masterful sequence created by Ray Harryhausen. Nearly all agree, this sequence is perhaps the greatest in the picture (which is only remembered for the awesome effects work). I'm happy Ray went out on a triumphant note!
Ray Harryhausen had no involvement with this remake. He retired back in 1981 after finishing the original. The original is much better than this one.

How many warriors to take down a Medusa? It's one of those 'wishful' thinking myths. No army can take down a Medusa. If she turns herself to stone, a Medusa is part basilisk. It would make her MORE beautiful. Then it would take Hercules and maybe Odysseus or Achilles to try to ruffle her feathers. In 2023, no one knows what a Medusa is. She probably don't know either, but she don't need much reminding. Course. Then every female would claim to be one. This movie really did awesome job on her snake appearance.

Very slow quality comparating the vintage movies.
