I saw these brothers in Germany back in late 90’s…. Straight talent no auto tune…. RIP to all the members who have passed… Love is House is a classic also
I will never forget seeing them in person at a free concert in Jamaica, NY when I was a teen. Me and my best friend snuck to the back area where their trailers were so we got an up close look. They were all so handsome in person...esp Stevie D 🤩
I am so glad that I grew up around when force mds and other great artists around this time and got to go here concerts 80s were magical time with music.
I wore the cassette tape of thiss, OUTTTTTT! You played the short version of that song. My thing is, always look for the long versions. This whole album was good and so was the one with Tears on it. The other album was the one with Are You Really Real or Am I Dreamin. It had, Watching You, What’s The Name Of That Song, and How Is Your Love Life on there. And, they’re still making music now, with Zieme The Deam for their lead singer.
I knew you'd love them. They're from my home town, NYC. You need to check out Love Is A House, Couldn't Care Less, Let Me Love You, Here I Go Again, Itching For A Scratch, Tears, Walking On Air, and Sweet Dreams. What you may not know is that this group is the pioneer of mixing R&B with Hip-hop. They're actually a Doo-wop group that embraced R&B and infused it with syncopated beats from Hip-hop. They were on the top of the charts in the 80s, before Mary J Blige, Guy, Keith Sweat, Johnny Kemp, Blackstreet, Big Bub, and the whole New Jack Swing movement took the world by storm with Michael Jackson's hard-hitting contributions (Produced by Teddy Reilly of Guy, whos also from NYC) really drove it home. The world was set on fire by the combination of Hip-hop, R&B, Funk, and a touch of Go-Go that is New Jack Swing. But it had its roots with this group here. They even have a song that's entitled Force MDs Meets The Fat Boys! They also have a great cover of I Wanna Know Your Name, which is a Doo-wop throwback and homage to the era of Doo-wop.
A most forceful reaction! The Force MDs (Musical Diversity) are from Staten Island, NY. The group was originally called the LDs (Lundy & Daniels) and comprised of brothers TC Lundy, Stevie D Lundy, Rodney Khalil Lundy and their uncle Jessie D Daniels. They later added DJ Dr Rock (Roger Daniels) and close friend Charles 'Mercury' Nelson to the group and became: Dr Rock & The Force MCs. They used to perform all over NY and on the Staten Island Ferry. Radio legend Mr. Magic of WHBI and WBLS happened to see the group performing on the ferry one day and offered to take them to Tommy Boy records to meet the labels founder and CEO Tom Silverman. Trisco Pearson of the Staten Island R&B group The Cook Corporation happened to be on the ferry the day that the group was headed to Tommy Boy and he had just left The Cook Corporation. Because Trisco was close with TC they invited him to come with them to the audition. Khalil had just converted to Islam and was no longer interested in singing. The Tommy Boy records singing group line-up was TC, Stevie D, Mercury, Jessie D & Trisco. Three of the group's members died within five years of each other: Charles 'Mercury' Nelson suffered a fatal heart attack in 1995, former collaborator DJ Dr Rock died suddenly of natural causes in 1996 and Antoine 'TC' Lundy died of Lou Gehrig's disease in 1998. Also, Trisco Pearson died on September 16, 2016 at age 53 after a battle with stage 4 cancer while Jessie D Daniels died on January 4, 2022 at the age of 58. On September 9, 2015 they were featured on an episode of TV One's Unsung. The group still performs today as a trio with a line-up of Stevie D, Khalil and Zieme Capers. RIP... TC, Mercury, Jesse D, Trisco, DJ Dr Rock 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 Some more good Force MDs songs 🎶: Walking On Air, Here I Go Again, Float On, Take You Love Back, Couldn't Care Less, Forgive Me Girl, Uh Oh!, Let Me Love You, Force MD's Meet The Fat Boys, Itchin’ For A Scratch, Are You Really Real?, Your Love Drives Me Crazy, Sweet Dreams, One Plus One, I Wanna Know Your Name and Somebody's Crying. Fun Fact 😎: The Force MDs were among the very first groups along with UTFO, Whistle, New Edition, and The Sequence, to combine rapping with R&B singing on their songs. Forerunners of the New Jack Swing era and all the R&B singing with rapping we hear today in songs.
1987 winter time ' westside of Detroit'''' murphy middle school time''''' and then redford high' well a few years later'' the long version is out cold 'it has a keyboard'', solo to it''
RIP Jessie Lee Daniels, Trisco Pearson, Antoine Lundy & Roger Daniels. Antione is the one singing lead in falsetto. This is a up tempo banger. A lot of people slept on this group. Glad you didn't.
