That means the house is well insulated. The heat is not escaping through the ceiling/roof, melting the snow on the roof.

We are getting snow today in southwest Virginia. Broke a record high earlier in the week...now we are back into winter with cold, snow and wind..lol. I'm like you Shaun, I love snow. I have accomplished nothing today but staring out the window. The dogs are beautiful! Your parents' house is looking great! It's so hard to live in a home while a large remodel is going on, but they will be so proud when it is finished. I have a request. I am watching The Crown and wondered if you could take us to Balmoral Castle, and any other sites that may relate to Diana and her time with us. When the house gets done, it will be pretty much the way your folks wanted it. Then they can say 'How do you like our 'labor of love?". If you want something done right, do it yourself. So it took some time. So what. In many instances, slow but steady wins the race. The drone shots of the snow in the Highlands was just breathtaking. Keep up the good work. ❤
Shaun, Hello from your distant cousins here in the US (SCOTTISH) , a Facebook friend of mine from Scotland said awhile back that they were getting a bit of bad weather also. Give it time for winter weather like we remember will come back, mother nature doesn't ask permission from the "experts". Come back to the states soon.
I think the glittery snow is either stars from heaven or diamonds. Love the pup. More than one? That is THEIR weather! If you can find an icicle from a maple tree, grab it. It should taste a little like maple syrup. Measure the depth of the snow on the little table between the chairs & you'll get a rough estimate of how much snow you have gotten. Just get a ruler, or meter stick, push it straight down to the table, read the number that you see that is level with the top of the snow. So pretty. The 'hoarfrost' effect on the top of the snow is beautiful!

When I was younger we got more snow in 47 and I live in South Carolina, we use to get it once a year sometimes more but last few years we got less than a inch

I wouldn't like living in a place with the same weather year round like California or Florida. Looks like you are in the U.P. of Michigan or the upper area of the lower peninsula, really across most of the northern states. You should visit the city of Marquette in Michigan, beautiful in both the winter and summer.
