    Picking one of these up very soon and will be doing short runs on Motorways so great to see it can cope. Just have to accept your going to be overtaken often, Thanks for the great video. Cheers

    I had a Suzuki gs 125 and it would do 70 redlined but you knew you were killing the engine. I used to just get behind a truck on the a roads and just relax at a nice sedate 56 mph😄👍😎

    I've had earlier CB125F and this version really is slow. These sound strained above 45mph but economy is amazingly good.

      I had a 2013 model and have a 2021 now. The 2013 was definitely tuned to hit a higher top speed far more easily, however it didn't have anywhere near as much low-end grunt. It would stall far more easily than the 2021. I'm very happy to drop a few mph at the top end for a gruntier launcher experience out of traffic lights, much more preferable for me :)

      @@Therealchrist that's really interesting to hear. The engine in the latest model is not just 'retuned' but a completely different design and is even more undersquare (where the bore is smaller than the stroke) at 50mm x 63.1mm as opposed to 52.4mm x 57.8mm in the old engine. This will give more bottom end power and economy at the expense of top end power which is exactly what you're seeing. It's basically a Grom / MSX / Monkey engine with the horizontal cylinder made vertical.

      @@BikingChap cool, thanks for the explanation, wasn't aware how it all worked 🙂

      @@Therealchrist you’re welcome. There’s lots of other factors at play but generally speaking if you’re looking for economy you’ll design an engine with a relatively small bore and longer stroke, and if you’re going after performance then a bigger bore and shorter stroke are usually used.

      feather the clutch while giving a bit of gas and use the back break
      also dont turn too sharp, use as much of the road as you can

    Shift down gain rpm then shift back to fifth gear it can easily get 60-67 sometimes depending on road conditions if you going a little bit downhill and try to stay down you can get 70 very easy tbh it a amazing bike and very economics a full tank can bring you around 300 miles

    Is that a quad lock your using there?, I bought a new cb125f and was about to get a quad lock mount for it but saw a review saying it doesn't fit the handlebars on the cb125f.

    • @taydan04
      @taydan04  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nah it’s just a generic cheep phone mount from Amazon. Seems to get the job done though! I would think it odd for Quadlocks mounts to not fit, the handlebars aren’t a particularly unusual thickness as far as I’m aware. They do also offer a really wide variety of mounting options so I’m sure they’d have something that fits. :)

    I seem to recall the rev limiter cutting fuel *at* 70mph. Can't be good for the engine lol
    That said, she sat happily at 55-60 on all the dual carriageways I went down. Never felt like I'd be happy going on a proper motorway though. Not on a ~10bhp 125.

    • @JDMz
      @JDMz 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The rev limiter doesn't cut fuel. Its just a limiter. If it was fuel cutting it would happen anywhere in the rev range. Lol

      @@AndreaSali-gp1up yeah from my understanding when the CBF125 changed to the CB125F they redesigned the engine to have more low end torque at the expense of top end power. I suppose it’s to further increase fuel efficiency and how easy it is to ride. Was very difficult to stall.

      It does depend heavily on how heavy the rider is. Especially with low powered bikes like these. I’m a fairly big guy at 6’3” 18st so I’m probably the biggest factor stopping her from reaching any higher than 60. I have gotten up to 68 with a decent downhill stretch.

      The CB125R has more BHP. If the rider is is heavy, best to buy one of those instead.
