    Wisconsin dude here. The first time I went off-roading in Moab was 1996 (19yo at the time, in July, driving an 89 Dodge Raider with no AC). The scene and times have changed. The Pull-Pal was certainly a real product advertised and used in the 4wd magazines of the time. Rory is probably the best rock driver I have ever seen. I am amazed by the skill and knowledge that he has. This channel shows that "old tech" 4wd works really well and knowing of when to winch. I want the trails to stay open, but if no one remembers "Tread Lightly"(and lots $$$ wreaking the trails) that won't happen. Pick up your trash and anything resembling trash as you go. Don't make a new line without thinking about it, and how others may follow it. (sometimes it can't be helped... I get it).
    These are the amazing spaces, that we can enjoy forever if we are responsible...

    Another excellent video. I’ve wheeled in many a sand dune over the years. It all comes down to RPM and wheel speed to stay on top of the sand. And yes, with sand, it’s HP over torque.

      @donhappel9566 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, sand is one place where you can actually use HP and RPM. Mater is a rock creature - torque and low rpm are what it does best. Pretty sure that's the junk yard 454 he pulled out a few episodes back vs Paul has a built big block. Question is, can Paul lug down to 400 rpm with a load on the back?

      Yes. Saw stuff in both videos that were't in the other. Like Rory's shoe recovery for example. Small talk banter in each truck. Like the trucks, both were great and both were different.

    Years ago I blew out my water pump gasket at the Chaco Canyon Ruins in NW NM. no cell phone service. Ended up making new gaskets from a pair of leather work gloves. Worked great, got me home and I ran it for a few more days until correctly repaired.

    Great video and collab! Even though the camera doesn't pick up how steep things are, I think Mike does about the best job of being able to pick that up as best as possible.

    This was so fun to watch, especially TrailMater going up the shute backwards. Paul's GPASHERM did awesome until it didn't. Both versions of the day were great but I admit the "mater's version was a tad better. Luv you guys!🥰

    That was quite amazing! It's like every one was on various spots on the daisy chain. One that was at the front ended up at the back or somewhere in the middle. You guys were playing musical spots in line. Great fun watching Trail Mater and the "Shermanator" playing together. Hope Paul doesn't mine me referring to the Fab Rat Wrecker that way. I think that sand anchor is a necessity in that sand!
