- Rockstar Games will never give you another dlc like undead nightmare for red dead redemption. Undead Nightmare on the PS5 will be the closest we'll ever get to rockstar games ever making a proper zombie game.

Rockstar literally had the ground work for a RDR2 paranormal bounty hunting style DLC. Notice how each region of the map teased certain monsters, a werewolf/wolf man in Annesburg, a witch in the grizzlies, a zombie voodoo cult in lemoyne, a vampire clan in Saint Denis, ghost, Yeti/Big foot, Giants/Nephilim. They could’ve easily added a literal Skin Walker to hunt in the New Austin región and maybe a wendigo near the Wapiti reservation.

It’s almost like the developers had planned one or at least, wanted to do one and then the guys above them just said no :/ It’s really weird to have all that build up for nothing
it's really just a big letdown when rdr2 came out i thought it was an amazing game because i was certain there was gonna be a dlc since there was so much groundwork already laid for one now it pains me to say that rdr2 is just good. There's much more weariness attached to rdr2 because of the limited content.

I’ve never heard anyone refer to undead nightmare as “lazy” hell I’ve never even heard a slightly negative word on this DLC, it’s highly regarded as one of if not the best DLC ever made.
I remember a few people kinda disregarded it as just another attempt to milk on the Zombie craze. Hence why it probably wasn't as popular as it should've. Though yeah, it was very critically acclaimed and one of the most common compliments it got was being robust enough to stand on its own as a full game.
The only complaint i have with undead nightmare is the bugs and glitches that make the game unplayable like unsaveable towns and unkillable enemies but other then that it was great
Rdr undead nightmare made ma actually a lot more like the John and characters from rdr 1 and the rdr 1 itself I enjoyed the story but gameplay and all other things make me almost regret playing I don’t know why and how but rdr undead nightmare made it two times better

This, Nazi Zombie Army, Festival of Blood and TF2 at Halloween are all proof that adding spooky shit to good games makes for incredible amounts of fun.
Not having undead nightmare 2 is like having a jelly sandwich with no peanut butter. It is bearable. But it is not right! It is not correct!

i loved how the fire horse has the lighting on the horse when its running it just looks so cool to me
i used to hope they would do like a cowboy's and aliens thing for RDR2. they could keep the green theme for that but where undead nightmare was supernatural in nature the cowboys and aliens could lean into scifi elements. imagine having a mechanical horse that never runs out of stamina. or ray guns and laser guns.
I can see that happening due to the robot stranger mission they really could have incorporated something similar

Alright. Watch me save you 14 or so minutes. Ready? The reason why rockstar won't give you another Undead Nightmare... or any single player DLC for that matter..... Is because that involves putting in EFFORT! And rockstar ain't all about that. Rockstar is all about dishing out that slop and expecting money for less than the minimum, barring GTA 6.

Theres no reason to improve the singleplayer experience when all the money comes from addicts buying monopoly money for a quick access to the content.
The answer is very easy.No matter how epic,cool game will Rockstar Games create,they will waste tons of money only on GTA.Same story with different characters....

Undead nightmare was such a blast in 2010-2011 how awsome it was growing up with it rdr is forever my favorite game of all time even have my yt name as it the unicorn and the apocalypse horses chupacabra and big foot herbet moons rant seeing all the story and side misson characters come from the grave even showing us peter who the old lady asked us to find in rdr1 and then we find his grave and in undead nightmare having him rise up was mind-blowing the game came out when the whole zombie movie craze was still happening then we have undead john which is just the icing on the masterpiece cake
i'm replaying rdr1 and undead nightmare as the last time i completed them was on 360, so my memory is very rusty lol but it's as i remember, epic but sluggish at times! in a way i'm glad they just ported the original, after the gta trilogy disaster, it's best they don't touch anything anymore. r* used to drop banger after banger, even if it was taking longer with some bigger games but after gta5 this company has become obsessed with greed.
Rockstar didn't even remaster the trilogy they gave it to mobile developers and rushed development 😂

The real reason why they won't make another one is because it'll be way too difficult to keep a model's head after you kill the NPC with that model at a close range
It would be an awesome dlc. Id buy it as soon as it came out. Only being able to survive through trading items with npcs, looting, or hunting, but animals are harder to find. They could add some new items like gunpowder and casings and the ability to craft your own ammo, arrows, and knives. Gatherings materials to fortify your camp, just like they do in the story with decorating your camp. Rescuing random encounter npcs to live in your camps and arming them and feeding them. For the camp they could use the same system for the single player campaign where you have to keep your camp happy by doing chores and donating food. Taming wild horses for the people in your camp to use. Zombie wolves, cougar, bear, and giant gators. The night folk and murphy brood are creepy as hell, so throw more of them in the game. I could go on and on
Would have loved an Undead Nightmare Zombie game to L.A. Noire - Cole and all his partners.

Imagine if there was a DLC case like that. They uncover a zombie plague beneath LA, but it gets covered up.
I think if Arthur was in a room with other video game characters ala Wreck It Ralph, he would say something like this: "It's like the whole gaming world is changing. People don't want to make games like ours no more."
With the exception of games like Baulders Gate 3, it really comes down to how much money a game can squeeze out, like GTA Online and Fortnite. This of course wouldn't be so bad if they invest them into developing engaging stories and unforgettable experiences, maybe even experiment to take gaming to the next level. But no, most publishers are simply pocketing it and pay a small portion of the profit to get licensed characters for their game or to help generate more from the same game they're making bank on. I'm not hating multiplayer games, but we have quite a lot of them and not as much story driven single player games with the same amount of love and dedication like back in to 90s, 00s, and even games like Red Dead Redemption 2 as of recent. Remakes aren't bad, I think the best example we've seen was Final Fantasy 7. Even then, it's kinda recycling games rather than making new ones.
So the long story short of it, Undead Nightmare was an experimental game where spin offs reuse the assets from the main game it's based on and tweaking it to provide a different, stand alone experience that wouldn't work as a DLC for the game. UN was one of the best of the bunch for sure, so much it can be argued it's a game on it's own. The industry ultimately moved away from doing stand alone games giving players a little taste of the maIn title with a different flavor profile, I think the last one we've had was Saints Row Gat Out Of Hell, but if anyone knows of a more recent spin off, feel free to let me know.
Online gaming is the most profitable, Undead Nightmare isn't for that reason, and Take Two would rather put money towards more GTA Online content and GTA 6 rather than giving us Bully 2, Undead Nightmare 2, and left RDO for the vultures when it failed to generate anywhere near their cash cow makes.
Honestly the only reason they made a zombie version of red dead was because of the zombie craze at the time with black ops, the walking dead etc it wasnt talked about much when it came out wouldnt make sense to make another one

@@CarvedStonesI think it was mentioned in the video about the zombie heads disappearing after too many fast kills or close quarters. Also I haven’t seen this issue brought up much anywhere else by all of my horses just drop dead after like 5 minutes of riding
@@litt1efoot95 you can fix it whenever it appears, just reload your save and it'll fix it but be aware you can't save if the bug happens due to your game freezing

First reason why GTA 6 second reason GTA online third reason they abandoned rdo for shark cards nearly two years ago to work on GTA 6 they are not the company we new rdr3 never going to happen and if it does don’t grind the online they will just abandon it again. Dutch we just need more money rockstars famous last words.
I feel like an Undead Nightmare 2 would be really hard to write for, as if it was done in the same way as in RDR1 then Arthur would still be sick and the gang would still be falling apart. You'd need to somehow balance the narrative of the collapse of the gang with the new narrative of zombies, while also contending with the fact that your main character is constantly getting sicker and sicker. It's possible, and it may even be interesting to see the gang coming together a bit more due to this new threat, but again it would be VERY difficult and I don't blame Rockstar for not wanting to take on that writing challenge.
It could have also started at the beginning of the game, after they escape the blizzard and go back into society they realize everyone has turned

I think they make big money on GTA 6 and possibly RDR3 but I think it's over after that.
Losing their primary visionaries right before they launch the 6 entry of a series that always poked fun at the types of people investors are absolutely terrified of us a good sign to me that GTA6 probably won't have much bite to it and will lose all its charm.
Maybe the new generation won't miss the OG humor though, it's been 15 years since GTA 4 even dropped.
Simple: GTA online, Shark cards, fools expending a lot of money in shallow content. Why would they bother to make something meaningfull like a single player dlc with character development and new mechanics/enemy types along with all the new mocap and etc.
because rockstar doesn't give a shit about the red dead franchise. they still think gta is the superior product.
gta is more easily monetized in the cash shop (nobody wants to pay real money for a horse appearance skin).
