@terryliliana despite your frustration, it doesn't apply to the masses. As far as origin story goes, it is for the best that this became non Canon due to the fact that it made no sense once you tie it in with the rest of the series. Lament of innocence had a better origin story that fit well and if you haven't played that one I strongly recommend it. Legends was a fun game to play, but the overall story didn't fit in with the rest
I actually made a guitar cover of one of the tracks, because I liked the overall soundtrack. But it seems this game in the Castlevania series is some kind of underdog. Not sure why. It had Castlevania in the title and wasn't confusing like "Demon's Crest" (SNES), which was named "Gargoyle's Quest" on the GB before. So I still don't see why it went under.
I may hazard that coming out when the original Game Boy was going out after its long shelf life may have not helped. In the west it came out several months after SOTN so I can see many perceiving it as too dated by then. Konami themselves may have not advertised it too much.
So, this Japanese version is very different from the USA. The looks and weapons... Here, she's using a sword, while the American uses the Whip. And the looks...god so different... Alucard looks like the early version from Castlevania 3, same as Dracula. But the fight against Alucard, what the hell...he looks like he's kicking you in a funny way.
This is actually a rom hack for Akumajou Dracula: Shikkoku Taru Zensokyoku that seemingly altered the game a bit, gave Sonia a sword instead of the Vampire Killer and altered the mug shots for Alucard and Dracula making them look like in Akumajou Densetsu/Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse.
this is a romhack that alters graphics and portraits, don't mind it that much, although I wanted for Alucard and Dracula to have their SOTN portraits and appearances instead.
While that did annoy fans that’s not the reason IGA removed it from the canon. It really was just the fact that he didn’t like a female Belmont holding the vampire killer whip. That was it
@@Linklex7 At no point was that ever a reason. The reason was always that it conflicted with the plot of the mainline games and the good ending of _Legends_ is proof of that.
@@Linklex7you say that like IGA didn't value and respect women in the gaming world, cuz he worked with his wife on Tokimeki Memorial AND the top music composer and artist during his tenure as leading man of the series are, well, women. Prick
Clearly you’ve never played Dracula X, Castlevania 64, Lords of Shadow 2, or Haunted Castle. Hell. Legends isn’t even the worst Castlevania on Gameboy. That dubious honor goes to Castlevania The Adventure. If I had to pick which was the worst of these games it’d probably would be Haunted Castle for the arcade
Boss list:
00:14 01 Creature Bat
02:08 02 Zombie Dragon
04:48 03 Flying Dragon
05:40 04 Grim Reaper
07:57 05 Medusa
08:45 06 Alucard
10:41 07 Jumping Demon
11:15 08 Executioner
12:58 Final Boss - Dracula
16:22 Ending
ROM hacks are cool.
And the Flying Dragon miniboss actually is a wyvern because it does have lower legs and wings but not upper legs.
This is After the "Symphony of the night" time line.
Alucard's main attack consisting of him kicking you in such a goofy pose is hilarious.
If only we saw Sonia Belmont in future Castlevania games.
Resurrection was nothing, but a attempt of this.
@@simiroth9461 Yes…
@@simiroth9461Too bad that died with the Dreamcast.
Considering IGA isn’t at Konami anymore and he didn’t even create the series I’d say it’s time to being back Sonia
@@Linklex7 I agree.
This game has some of my favorite music in the series. Even the title jingle is so memorable.
As far as Dracula second phases go, this one had a cool design. Pity Sonia was rendered non-canon though.
Igarashi considers her non canon, HOWEVER and for the las fudging time, he did not create the series, so his word is not final.
@@terryliliana My apologizes, I did not realise this was a such a loaded subject. I did not mean to cause offense.

@terryliliana you're telling me you prefer this story over Lament of Innocence's? Lmao

Awesome Game, Music is Great & Sonia is a great character.

Because the game itself is bad

Alucard looks so goofy doing the stanky leg kick.
That last boss looked really annoying. Great vid 👌🏾
Happy Halloween 🎃🎃🎃
Beatiful 😁🤩👍🎮
Nice game. :D
Wait ,The physical version I bought is the Japanese version, and the character pictures of alucard and sonia and dracula are completely different.

I don't lie, gd's version of bloody tears is too cool
Alucard fights like Mr. Game n Watch. What the fuck, man?
Wolfenstein + Castlevania = Panzervania???
🤔🤨
Apparently Sonia and Alucard getting it on and having a child was too conflicting to the canon, which is why Sonia no longer exists.
