Professor Madhav Gadgil ഈ പാനലിന്റെ ചെയർമാനായി നിയമിതനായി. അതു കൊണ്ടാണ് നമ്മൾ ഈ പാനലിനെ ഗാഡ്ഗിൽ കമ്മിറ്റി എന്ന് വിളിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ പാനൽ പശ്ചിമഘട്ടത്തെ കുറിച്ച് പഠിക്കുകയും അതിനെ സംരക്ഷിക്കാൻ വേണ്ട നിർദ്ദേശങ്ങളടങ്ങിയ റിപ്പോർട്ട് 2011 September ൽ കേന്ദ്ര ഗവൺമെന്റിന് സമർപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഈ റിപ്പോർട്ടാണ് നമ്മൾ ഗാഡ്ഗിൽ കമ്മിറ്റി റിപ്പോർട്ട് എന്ന് അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. ഗാഡ്ഗിൽ റിപ്പോർട്ടിനെ കുറിച്ചും അതിലെ നിർദ്ദേശങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചുമാണ് നമ്മൾ ഇന്നത്തെ വീഡിയോയിൽ ചർച്ച ചെയ്യുന്നത്.

In 2010, the Indian government established the Western Ghats Ecology Expert Panel to provide recommendations for the conservation of the Western Ghats. Professor Madhav Gadgil was appointed as the chairman of this panel, which is why it is often referred to as the Gadgil Committee. The panel studied the Western Ghats extensively and submitted a report to the central government in September 2011, outlining recommendations for its protection.
