Today, the state had their witness (Ms. Porter, crime scene technician) start detailing a 2014 shooting at Blue Flame. In the Operation Planters Powerpoint, the slide with Antravia Smith, Antonio Sledge (Mounk Tounk), and Kelvin Watts (Shell Kell) and the 1/28/2015 shooting incident mentions a ballistics match to a Harwell Rd shooting. Blue Flame is located on Harwell road.
Love tries to argue that this should be admissible for 20 minutes. The judge sustains and does NOT change her mind.
The witness doesn't return to the stand, and the jury is instructed to disregard everything they heard from that witness.
Crazy!

Was this case indicted by a grand jury? I don’t understand how they could bring this case to trial with no evidence!!

Now that you’ve asked. Whatever they did to get a indictment helped them but the trial itself is showing they did not have enough evidence to charge anyone
Because the grand jury only hears evidence that is presented by the Prosecution. They don't get a whole story. As we have seen during this trial, the prosecution isn't exactly forthcoming with credible evidence and have stretched the truth to extreme.
The previous DA, Paul Howard, refused to bring this case to trial for lack of evidence. Fani Willis won the election and here we are.

They're trying to connect two shootings based on a gun being in an area. There's no evidence saying the person involved was part of ysl, that the two shootings were even related or that the person firing the gun was the same person in both incidents. In short there's no way connect this shooting to ysl at all other than love trying to create a fact pattern of violence around a club. But she has nothing but that the shooting happened within a 1 mile area of the club. That's a pretty big area that could apply to a lot of crimes not even remotely related to the club.

I thought that the prosecution should have ALL the "investigations" completed, seeing as we are at the trial phase. Shouldn't the state be presenting the EVIDENCE that they showed the grand jury for the indictment, and anything that may have been found out between indictment and trial..... don't they have to prove beyond reasonable doubt, for indictment?
If this turns out to be a multi-million dollar trial, based on circumstantial evidence.... IF I was a taxpayer there, I'd have a fit.
