I was here to like mock what I was about to see. That was the stupid me .. that little cruelty in me me. These guys are amazing. Obviously a great deal of work and talent went into this. More people should see it. Bravo!
The song they are clogging to is bei mir bistu shein, translation by me you are pretty. It's a Yiddish song from 1932. Cover of this was done by The Andrew Sisters, Barry Sisters, among others. This reminds me of my youth, I'm 72 and one of the languages I spoke as a child was Yiddish.
That's so special. My father taught German in high school. And took our family to visit Europe and live in Spain when I was only 8 years old. I learned how much fun the different cultures were and the museums and castles fascinated me. Both my parents got into clogging when I was in high school. And I've been wanting to get back into it myself. Hopefully I will find a place to learn again here in California. 😊
I wonder if anyone remembers the tune playing, which was a jazz hit song, I believe, from the 1940's, entitled "Ba Mir Bistu Shein" (please let me know if I spelled this incorrectly, thank you). I think it is Yiddish, but could be German.
They were all fabulous! When they came out with the luggage I thought they were going to do,”Shuffle Off to Buffalo”! When I heard “My Dear Mr. Shane”, I was very surprised but delighted! 👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I did a tour in the 90s with a bluegrass band called James King! And met a lovely lady named Mia! In the group! Tell her that Adam says hello and salmearka
Not just an American thing, it was practised in the North of England too. According to my Dad my Granddad - a blacksmith at Vickers in Newcastle at the turn of the 20th century - won prizes.
What I have watched during the pandemic has been truly entertaining. This group was spot on and they all seemed to be enjoying it. Now if they are practicing I would think masks would be mandated and good luck with that.
What a great troop and the song is beyond excellent!! .. the Andrews sisters -Bei Mir Bist Du Schon (means you're grand). You should use the Andrews sisters recording because it has everything that this recording lacks .. you could speed it up like they do on the little gear here on youtube. My favorite feature. The most perfect cloggers I've ever seen. I think the sound person for the stage speakers just didnt have the sound up loud enough.
You can match the Andrews Sisters version of this song to the dancers beat .. Song on 1.25 in one tab and watch this at normal speed while playing their dance with no sound.
They're clogging shoes. Tap shoes only have one tap on each toe and one on each heel. These have two nailed together so they make a more jingly sound when they dance.
gjm1953 The shoes they have are clogs, which are like taps, but are loose to make louder sounds and a larger variety of sounds. Do a search online and others explain the difference between clogging and tap dance better than me.
I have no experience whatsoever aside from watching youtube videos, but I'd say, that tap uses more of a jumping step, like the Irish, the cloggers move their knees more and use more space I think. There's a "battle" video somewhere, where Tap, Clogging and Irish Side Step is compared, watch that for a real explanation :D
I've been a clogger for several years. We dance on the downbeat and tap and Irish dancers - well, dance on the UPbeat of a song. We have softer taps that are doubled in the front to make more sound. Taps on tap shoes make a clear, hard sound compared to clogging taps. We also have taps on the front of the toe and on the heel. Cloggers have their own steps but sometimes tap and clog steps do run into each other. We also have Irish steps that are slightly different than pure Irish steps but look similar. Hope this helps!
I love clogging, it can be hard work. I didn’t like all the fiddling around with luggage racks, etc. it distracted from the dancing. But to each his own.
Just adorable. All of 'em! That took a lot of practice & work. Whoever did their costumes did a great job, too.
Bravo!! You guys hit thqt strange out of the park! I hope you all won because you were fantastic!!! Great job 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Certainly enjoyable watching these folks dance. They are totally awesome!

This is marvelous! Truly charming!
I love clogging, flat footin' and tap dancing. Just folk dancing in general.
They were all fabulous! When they came out with the luggage I thought they were going to do,”Shuffle Off to Buffalo”! When I heard “My Dear Mr. Shane”, I was very surprised but delighted! 👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Tap Dance, reminds me of Shirley Temple; great dancers, lots of fun to watch.
They are amazing!!! I dance tap and saw the Geico commercial that has clogging in it and wanted to see what it was.
Great to see this dancing making a come back.
Beautiful routine, and well done. Love the outfits also.

I’m auditioning for a clogging team that’s real close to lagoon. Hopefully, we’ll get to compete in these.
This is AMAZING! GO Jillian and the rest of the team!! Nicely done!
That's pretty damned good I love it.
Thank you so much for watching! I love all the feedback. Clogging is such a passion of mine! Let me know if you have any questions.
Where can we see more from this team please?

Great job from Las Vegas. I’m beyond impressed.
Had never heard of clogging. Look like fun and lots.of practice.

Absolutely brilliant!
I love to watch clogging and I'm a city boy. I just think it's fun.

Ahaha i dont know why but this is hella relaxing to watch
Was Cheyenne Danner there? One of the greatest clogger's of the 2000's
fabulous!
Talk about cultural fusion -- clogging to a Jewish song written in Yiddish!
And using several taps Irish style.
In other words...it means they’re grand 😁🙃
I actually had to learn to clog in physical education lol. I thought Alabama was torturing us but it was actually fun
............. FANTASTIC ...Well done !! :-) :-) .......................
Where are the clogging shoes? Were they wearing tap shoes?
They're clogging shoes. Tap shoes only have one tap on each toe and one on each heel. These have two nailed together so they make a more jingly sound when they dance.
THAT DANCING IS SO COOL
Talented❤
Muito lindo, amei. Parabens a todos.🇧🇷👏👏👏🇧🇷

How is this any different from tapdancing?

gjm1953 well, these guys appear to be wearing....erm....clogs and not tap shoes 🤪
they have a lot of tap moves in their routine

Way cool
Lol, my legs would be burning after two clogs...fun to watch 'em though 😅
👍
This is like the Olympics for this type of dancing. You can see why they won the gold. People would pay to see this level of performance.
Whats the name of that darn music PLEASE!!!!
My Dear Mr. Shane
MY BIR MIST DU SHANE
"Bei Mir Bist du Schon" it means "To Me, You Are Beautiful"
joellen hamilton thank you so much. I am using for my 50th bday slideshow 😊
who is the artist?
Looks more like a tap dance routine. I like old school.
yes, this is contemporary clogging
Agreed. This is so far removed from the traditonal. The old school puts a smile on your face and makes your heart beat faster just watching.
me too the music is too loud and isn't folksy at all,
Bei Mir Bistu Shein ?
Da
@@WorldClassClogging cool
I miss clogging :(
Very talented
why does it always take the soundman forever to start the music? they leave the performers standing there forever.
why do they always take soooo long to start the music???
❤❤👏👏👏
How in the hell did I end up on this😅
Same got no clue
I love clogging, it can be hard work. I didn’t like all the fiddling around with luggage racks, etc. it distracted from the dancing. But to each his own.
Love Tap Dancing..
cwb0051 it’s clogging bud
Whatever..
Way awesome!
How about some bluegrass music for this type dancing? The squawking from the soprano doesn’t go with the type of dance or music selection.
just wow!
Great dancing.
You need to change the title. This is not clogging. I grew up clogging and this is not it. What I saw was a cross between Irish River Dance and tap.
In the southern part of America this style of dance is called clogging. Major difference between tap and Irish river dancing.
how is this clogging v tap? Seems lie tap
Why oh why does the audience have to squel
That’s what I call multiculturalism at its best
классный степ)))
But ... where are the clogs?
Ok, so no idea how the hell I got here but surprisingly entertaining if somewhat daggy...😀
Good dance
We call it buck dancing. I was a clogger for 21 years. There is a difference in steps.
yes, this is clogging. I don't know why you say it isn't
@@CornerLotLife experience.
Genial !
Tap dancing !
THE MUSIC IS SO LOUD THAT THEY ARE BANGING THEIR FEET JUST TO HEAR THE TAPPING!!! BETTER THEN MOST THOUGH!!
They are not tapping harder over the music!
very well done
Imagine how good if they practiced! 😂
Brilliant
Come on..get that mountain music going!
Very similar to Irish dancing a lot of the same movements and steps
American clogging comes from Irish clogging, so that makes sense!
Very good. Love.🌅🎶🎶🌹💃💃🕺🕺💕💕💕.
this is wired but i do dance and for my Christmas parade we had the same costumes
