Talk about bringing back old memories from 40 years ago...our high school had a large dance teams like this one and oh my those high kicks!!! Thanks for the memories
Awesome!!! When I was in my junior high, high school, and college drill teams we did kicks, formations, and splits. Jump splits were my favorite. I wish the schools would go back to that. Loved your uniforms also!!
Think that they did one hell of a job, very good coordination and timing,as well as keeping things in line,to bad the camera never zoomed in on any of it throughout the performance
Eh... Disagree. The best thing about this type of routine is watching the dancers move as a whole unit, no zoom was needed imo. (Also they likely recorded on a cell phone, im betting.)
A couple of years ago, one night, I was about to propose to my girlfriend when my roommate Joseph barged into the room out of nowhere, tripped and fell over, breaking a glass table with his face. Totally ruined the mood. Now, I didn't know Joseph THAT well, don't even remember where he was from, but let' just say I put my plans on hold to help him through his injuries.Joseph had gotten a big glass shard in his eye, making him completely blind in that eye. He was walking around with one of those cotton pads on his eye for a couple of months. Then suddenly, he disappeared, along with my girlfriendApparently they'd bonded during the time after his injuries, and eloped together , left me behind without as much as a note. I tried to track them down, but never could. In conclusion, if it hadn't been for cotton eye Joe, I'd have been married a long time ago. Where did you come from, where did you go? Where did you come from, cotton eye Joe?
Fun facts about cotton eye Joe: the song was sung by a Swedish band trying to stereotype hillbilly Americans. Cotton eye Joe is slang in southern states for sexually transmitted diseases The most common school dance song is this song.
@@chimpanzee341 just because it is used that way in some areas by some people doesn't mean "that's what it means" . The song and term predate that use by probably a 100+ years
This SONG has such Special Memories FOR ME As It Was Always PLAYED AT OUR ICE HOCKEY ARENA IN SHEFFIELD ENGLAND. AND IT BECAME A DANCE I USED TO DO WITH MY THEN YOUNG GRANDDAUGHTER. SHE IS NOW 18.YRS OLD. AND GORGEOUS.
It's refreshing to see a well choreographed dance routine. When I was in high school, the cheerleaders tried too hard to dance trashy to the "hip hop" music at that time
Very impressedvwith these young dancers! Such energy and talent, dedication and long hours of practice to get it just right-these kids will go far in life, I feel certain!
First time I’ve seen or heard the term ‘Kick line” before, even my phone’s autocorrect was trying to change it to something about chickens. Cool term, I’d like to see more of it.
Really nice routine. I loved the jump over. The only thing is the stand still adjustments. Alignments should be made in the last few steps of the movement. Adjustments in motion are less likely to be noticed. Great job ladies
They don't look like children.. and women and teenage girls have been dancing, performing like this in the last hundred years all over the world, not just in a French Caberet. Cheerleaders and dance teams have performed like this in the last 50 or 60 years, just the skirts are a lot shorter now. So, this kind of dancing has been going on since 100 years ago. But why are you comparing a Caberet dance to this dance team..Caberet dancing is more seductive and sexual. These young ladies are doing no such thing. If they were, their parents would take them out of the team and complain to the school principal. But luckily it's all innocent and fun.
I've known that song from my childhood even tho I have nothing to do with English country's. Know that I've learned English I finally understand all the jokes. LoL
Lots of practice and patience went into that, plus the parents, dishing out the money for their uniforms, and all the gas and time spent, getting their daughters to practice and picking them up
POGGG I wanna be able to do this This looks so cool, and I can safely say there is nothing like the experience of country line dancing to a song with many many people dancing along with you, it’s fun and you feel so connected. Would recommend
This is not a american dance. its EXTREMLY inspired by the traditional german dance "gardetanz" so americans don't be to patriotic about this its not your tradition ;) And no its not only about doing the kicks. Also for the dude that comented and then delted it. Yes. Yes there are people feeling patriotic about this
Crazy to think this huge dance group was likely choreographed by just one or two instructors...bravo whoever taught them, that was badass
Yeah great reply to this
badass?

That brought back memories circa 1978 to 1982, St Gerard High School, Blue Bells dance team.
A great kick line is always a crowd pleaser! Great job!
Elaine Williams you have to check out the German carnival "garde tanz" it's like this but better.

Really, Way to chose a intresting song. Cotton eyed Joe by Rednex. originally a 1939 recording of a folksong from 1861.
I know right they could of picked a different song but they picked a good song
Why do I enjoy watching this this is my fav song btw
cool, its a mesh up of can can, river dance and a drill team
A hundred years ago such a routine could only be seen in a French cabaret and today children perform it at school.

LOMAOL! how did the black girls and families feel about dancing to C E J? Loved it though
Definitely see some moves attempted like the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders leg lift on each other's back. Magnificent chin height kicks
Very nicely done ladies!!!
The Best coreography that i ever seen
Crikey, that sideways-leg-circle take-a-bow thing was awesome. My hips don't allow that.
They are beyond awesome great job.
Awesome job !!!
They need to be in compensation .. I'm sure they would win ...
I love it but if I ever tried what they're doing I hurt myself and fall down.
Absolutely Fantastic!! Well done!! 👍❤️

I never did like this song. However seening someone do something interesting with it has swayed my opinion slightly. Nicely done ladies.
Lots of practice and patience went into that, plus the parents, dishing out the money for their uniforms, and all the gas and time spent, getting their daughters to practice and picking them up
Anyone else who was reminded of DCC when you saw it?
Back again. This is still great. WTG girls.

not my cup of tea but I have to hand it too them they are good. If I did that routine I would spend the next two weeks in hospital.
