Hi, we both recently played through Astro Bot and now are feeling very nostalgic for our retro PlayStation games, so we dug up the entire collection to show it to you. There are a lot of gems in here and it's such a great reminder that PlayStation has some incredible games. This collection includes our PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and PSP games, as well as one mystery platform. Let's take a trip down memory lane!

Krysta - "worth some money maybe?" lol, TONS!! your sealed Tekken may be worth a car!!! there are none on ebay and last sealed sold for 19K(check pricecharting). Heritage sold one(no rips) for 55K. DEFINITELY get it graded!!! and congrats!!
The old era of Playstation really was amazing at the variety and depth of its library. Like how two different people could've each had a library of 20 to 30 games with minimal overlap but they both got to experience an amazing era of console gaming.
I have a lot of fondness for PS1 and PS2 in particular and it was really cool to see your game collection! It made me think of games I've never played that you showed that I should check out more than a couple times. haha
Vigilante 8 on and BattleTanx on the N64 were some of my favorite multiplayers as a kid.

To be honest, when it comes to the playstation, I have lots of vague memories, put my strongest memories when it comes to PlayStation, is the PS2 era, I remember playing Tenchu, Tony hawk pro skater 4, okami, Viewtiful Joe 2, I remember playing Katamari Damacy, I can't remember if I planted on PlayStation 2 or not single GameCube, and I can't recall, if I played the game, we love Katamari. More games that I remember playing, soul edge, final fantasy tactics, but I vaguely remember playing final fantasy four.
Dark Cloud is such an amazing series. I really thought it was gonna blow up as a franchise at the time.
The forst game had procedurally generated dungeons and some fun gameplay twists, but the second really nailed the formula.
Now I'm gonna go play them again.
The number of racing games in this library warms my heart. But Klonoa on the PS1 will always be special to me, and while I loved all the variety I built up on the PS2, it did eventually just become my racing game machine. lol
I really don't get getting rid of your old consoles just because a new one is coming.

Alot of bangers in this collection,was very happy to see Tenchu because I felt like it was a bit underrated back in the day and I have very fond memories with alot of these games! Awesome video👍
Tekken, Castlevania, Mega Man, Hulk, Dark Cloud, Metal Gear Solid, Final Fantasy, and Sonic (PS5) all are my favorites on Play Station.
to be fair about symphony of the night: as someone who remembers 1997- that winter here in Europe we got final fantasy 7, tomb raider 2, crash bandicoot 2, time crisis , nhl 98 (very popular in Sweden), Abes Odyssey, Mega Man 8, parappa the rapper - it wasnt as much as people protesting in the age of 3D gaming a 2D game but there was just so much new to play. many missed that game at launch.

my favorite was the ps2, granted that was my first console. played gta vice city san andreas, need for speed underground, bloody roar 4, zone of the enders 2, dbz budokai tenkaichi, taito memories, kingdom hearts, ff10, ff12 and many others. an era where we played together as siblings, fun memorable moments

In Heavy Rain one of the cringe moments is that there’s a rare glitch that constantly activates a functionality where you have to press the X button for Ethan to keep shouting “SHAUN!”.
This was a really fun video! I forgot MS Saga was ever a thing, but the premise is intriguing. The screenshots on Google look slightly familiar.
I'm curious if you have any Sega games or consoles like Genesis up to pretty much Dreamcast

When I think about retro PlayStation games I feel: the PS1 was the story mode era, the PS2 was the split screen era, and the PS3 was the online era. In my opinion, I consider single player campaigns in video games like the first season of an anime series (as good as it gets, downhill from here). When comparing single player series that launched on the PS1 to series that started on the PS4 or PS5 I think the remakes of the PS1 games end up being better than the newer series made for the PS4 / PS5 AND the sequels that came from the PS1 game. An example of this would be the upcoming remake of 'Valkyria Chronicles' because series newbies usually like to start the story from the beginning (unlike Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven, which still looks great).
Also, I would definitely welcome the chance to experience 'Bushido Blade' modernly in a remake because it was the foundation for games like 'Way of the Samurai'.
What's funny with some of the VIP bots in Astro Bot is they aren't even PlayStation characters, such as Ryu and Ken, several of the games were on Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo long before the PlayStation was even a thing. It makes no sense.

I played so much co-op dynasty warriors with my cuz back in the day, specifically 3 and 4: Xtreme Legends. I have really great memories of those games 😄

It’s interesting how my favorite franchise of all time (Danganronpa) started on the PSP of all things. Those games are amazing!
I can only relate to the PS3 stuff, because that's when I jumped into the Playstation ecosphere going forward despite being well aware of PSX and PS2 since it came out.

I use to have about 10.000 ps1 games when i was a teen but let friends bought them buy as a abult i have like 10 ps1 but i have about 80 ps2 games and about 60 ps3 games and about 168 ps4 games and about 7 ps5 games
I don't even remember the last time I had my PS2 or PS3 plugged in, but I was honestly embarrassed by how little I recognised in Astro Bot!
Also, we didn't get Katamari Damacy in the UK. I remember watching a let's play of it and being bitterly disappointed! We did get the rerelease though...which I've never got around to completing...
The lack of Socom is saddening. It was synonymous with the PS2 brand anyways 😂❤

I've noticed that when it comes to Japanese games, I've noticed the following, number one, people and things are very cute, number three, people and things are young and sexy, even if you are a old man or woman, you look sexy, and you look young. Number three, the characters in the world, is both, both sexy and cute simultaneously, number four, no matter what's going on, every so often, Japanese developers want to make something silly and or Goofy. Games, that make you question, what in the drugs is this? Do Japanese people, take drugs, while making this silly game? If Japanese developers don't make a goofy game, then they will make a weird hentai game or hentai adjacent game, those are the type of games, that I've noticed.
PS3 is definitely retro now.

What's wild is that GTA5 was natively on PS3 and Xbox 360. That also means it could have been ported to Switch, but Rockstar chose not to for whatever reason.
At the point of 6:08, Ace combat, I vaguely remember playing that game, that aside, I will like for the people who made Ace combat, have that company makes Star Fox, just outsource Star Fox, to the people who make Ace combat, and if not them, a company that also made a Ace combat adjacent game, I will also outsource F-Zero to a company, that made f-zero like games, when it comes to Old franchises, that's Nintendo don't know what to do with them, outsource it to people, have them come up with things.
I could of got a psp but nintendo 3ds was better

I'm curious, Kit, what about Dynasty Warriors 3 and 5 make them your favorites as opposed to later (or earlier) entries? I'm always interested in hearing why people like particular entries in long-running franchises.
It's too bad you dislike God of War 3 so much though. That's my favorite in the franchise to this day. And I've played all of them except Ascension.
