I have a X100s and been wishing I had the X70 as its partner for ages.. They've gone up massively in price...2nd hand market is crazy. So... my wish list has another camera on it... 👍
He is an actor/employee/sponsored puppet paid by FUJI, which is why you haven't heard of him. He is employed/sponsored to say nice things about FUJI cameras and make it look like as if he was an independent reviewer (which he is not). Look at his recent video where he goes to Havana, you can tell he didn't pay for that trip, it was all paid for by FUJI. This guy has "ex-camera salesman" written all over his face.
World Traveller that would be a problem if he lied about the camera, saying that it was better than it was. He never did that. I own one of these now, and his review was thorough and accurate. So your comment is irrelevant and stupid frankly. Did he hurt your feelings or something? Leave him alone and stop talkin smack for no reason haha
You need to educate yourself. The federal trade commision has very strict rules regarding declaring sponsored content for vloggers, TH-camrs etc, as they can be misleading for consumers. Just google FTC Social Media Guidelines 2016 and you'll find all the info. You can also read TH-cam's policy here: support.google.com/youtube/answer/154235?hl=en It's not about lying, it's about not being transparent with viewers. He misleads viewers by not admitting that the product was free / promotional / sponsored and therefore the information he presents (whether true or not) is biased. In the TH-cam creator section, there is an option that uploaders need to click if the video contains sponsored content. Just be honest with yourself and admit that you bought an expensive camera because an advertisement (ie. a blog / youtube video that you weren't aware of) told you nice things about it.
World Traveller just be honest with myself? I didn't buy a camera because this guy liked it. I bought the camera because it was a fuji. And frankly I have far better things to do with my time than be upset by someone online. I promise you it'll be ok. The world isn't going to explode if this guy broke some rules. Besides, everything youre saying is speculation as far as I'm concerned, and I couldn't care less
Decent review. I shoot with a Fuji X30 when I want to be dslr free. The X30 is a much smaller sensor in a larger body that holds the EVF and zoom lens, and definitely not pocketable. Would have like to know more about the low light and depth of field performance on the X70, regardless of how much this is designed for street photog. The fact that that you can't take a shot just using the touch screen is a no go for me. If Fuji could have bridged more smartphone camera functions in the touch screen it would be great; so guess that could be in the next release, unless they can add this via software upgrade.
Hi I have very important question to ask you: since focal length of x70 lens at eq.28, 35, 50mm is electronic and not native/real as eq.35 in x100 (and eq.28, 50 wcl/tcl), are the quality of result photos (jpeg and raw both) same for printing and exhibition presentation? at least i would like to be sure, eq.28 in x70 quality is the same as eq.35 in x100t, then i will be able to crop what i want in photoshop! pls advise.
That's a Gordys strap. Dark brown leather with black wrapping. Tell them you head it from me when you order! I don't get a kickback but I love their straps and always love sending them new customers!!
Great overview of a unique X camera. As a shooter at 35mm focal length have you tried the in-camera 35mm and 50mm crops? I don't think you mentioned them in the review. Thanks. - An XQ2 shooter.
+John McCormack I'm not a fan of in camera cropping to simulate other focal lengths. Too much of a sacrifice in resolution for my tastes. Plus it's just a crop so the depth perception of the scene stays at 18.5 mm even if the "field of view" is cropped. Not really a simulation at all... I say let the camera do what it's designed to do - it's quite an excellent little 28mm (equivalent) shooter!
Screen is pretty good in bright light. I generally kept the screen brightness set to +3 or +4 and rarely had problem seeing what I was shooting. Depends on the situation though!
It’s quite a bit heavier and harder to hold compared to the Ricoh gr. It focuses slow, really quite slow. It’s rather expensive, not to a gr2 but to a gr. it lacks an external evf.
I managed to find a thumb grip to fit the X70 and still use the articulating screen - This is the one if anyone is interested - www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01ESVKHCM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
To each their own, but having owned X-series Fujis the X70 doesn't cut it. I have the X70 and X100S on my desk as I type and I keep picking them up to compare and the X100S wins hands down. Smaller is not always better. I have a Nikon the size of a deck of cards that'll blow the doors off either camera for travel/snapshot pictures, but it's a pain to use. Thumb down X70. I'll keep my X100S.
Truly pocketable? If you're wearing some crazy baggy cargo military pants maybe... The thing that bugged me above all else with the X70 is the left button on the D pad... Far too close to the screen and awkward to press. Still, nice review vid.
the reason not to buy it price. it so over priced, that nobody buy living in NYC I never ever see it in the hand. I see once Ricoh, like 5 x100 in the year 4 japan and one russian tourists))) even medium format Leica, but never ever x70. let's be honest fuji not want to publish numbers. it seems to me it mo reviewers than people that buy it. for mee camera is perfect if it will cost $100 . a year before i bout samsung galaxy prime.for $29.99 w/o contract with 5" HD screen and lot of features. this is today price for electronics and this is why no one will buy x70
i think its cuz Sony has cut the production of the old 16mp sensor, Fuji was caught in surprise and has to stop producing all the cameras using the same sensor including x-pro1...xt1...and x70 soon which has been released only for a while. Sony is nearly monopoly in this area, Fuji has no choice
This guy is an actor/employee/sponsored puppet being paid by FUJI. For people who are gullible and don't see what's happening here, this guy (and this channel) is paid by FUJI to say nice things about FUJI cameras. Just look at this other videos, there is hardly any content, and every video praises FUJI products. If you check his website, at first glance it appears to be a street photography blog, but look deeper, and you'll see its just a platform to push yet more FUJI products and bad mouth the competition. Very sneaky. This channel and videos should have a disclaimer in the description admitting that it's a promotional / paid / endorsed content.
Great review and all still so relevant. Glad that you focused on the ergonomics, as many don't. Cheers.
Thanks! 👍
Your reviews are always fantastic and you always make me laugh! Thank you :)
I have a X100s and been wishing I had the X70 as its partner for ages..
They've gone up massively in price...2nd hand market is crazy.
So... my wish list has another camera on it... 👍
ive been looking at the X70 for a while and cant get my hands on one. Reckon prices will reduce in the near future?
@@AlexDale9 we can hope.... 👍
I don't see prices going down tbh. They're not made anymore so it's really supply and demand...
"if you don't love the fuji colors... you're gonna get em in this camera." I LOLed! Very helpful review, thank you :)
Thanks for the review! Really enjoyed it and learned a lot. Good work
ive been sitting on this one. this may have solidified it for me.
You are awesome my friend, thank you.
Great video!
Just subscribed. No clue who you are. But that was a great video. Funny and excellent. 👍
Thanks Captain, glad you liked!

Solid review, thanks!
is quality high enough of fuji x70 for photostocks?

The X70 has a touch to shoot function. Although it is kinda slow, it works if you need it to.
x70 better
You are a delight to watch, great video!

Do you notice the lens being a little soft?
is worth buying it for 700 cad today?
Can't really answer that. If the camera works for you and you can afford it then I'd say go for it! :)
ID on the leather wrist strap? Thanks.
That's a Gordys strap. Dark brown leather with black wrapping. Tell them you head it from me when you order! I don't get a kickback but I love their straps and always love sending them new customers!!
Thank you my friend! Much Appreciated!
Where could I get the leather strap? Thanks.
That's a gordy's hand strap. Great straps, excellent company!

great review mate :) how is the screen in bright light? Thanks
Screen is pretty good in bright light. I generally kept the screen brightness set to +3 or +4 and rarely had problem seeing what I was shooting. Depends on the situation though!
Nice one buddy. Thanks for replying :)
does increasing the brightness on the screen throw you off with your exposures?

I find it quite pocketable. Definitely not like a smartphone, but I've never had issues without in and out of my front pant pockets.
Fuji, make this interchangeable lens. With a number of pancake lenses. Do that with X100 series too.
Focus ring the size of a human hair......funny
"kinda weird at feerst" lol

XY Zhou
M.B you are right.but ricoh have same story
Shlomo Levi lol not exactly the same, Ricoh couldn't care less about its camera line, different story for fuji
XY Zhou
i talk about sales, not technical side. p.s nobody BTW remember nikon coolpixA that was first in this line
Shlomo Levi aha don't be too sure about that, my main Street camera is coolpix a along with a bunch of film rfs lol
Expensive for someone who is not pro.
