306 GTI-6 - One of the most beautiful hatchbacks ever made IMO.
I loved my GTI-6 which I bought in 1999! The insurance was a killer though! Brilliant performance and a great car 😀
As a GTi6 owner, I'll pretend I didn't see this.
He forgot to say the Audi suspension and seats are made out of granit, the interior have all the joy and hapiness of the death corridor and you'll get as much sensation out of it as in a bus
It's also unreliable crap.
I've owned a Gti6 and can confirm you'd be in a different post code before the Audi driver knew what had happened
Both great cars....that 306 is still my favourite in gti6 mode. 😈🚘😃👍

The Peugeot has aged well in the looks department. Clean, sleek lines unlike the Audi that is frumpy, fat and has as much appeal as a fresh dog turd. What an absolute odd comparison of cars completely of the opposite spectrum.

23 years later, Audi is a GREAT value for money!! you can pick a nice A3 diesel for 200 or 300€. Meanwhile, you cannot find a decent 306 Gti below 10,000 €. Closer to 15k € for a nicer one :(

The A3 failed MOT in 2009 and had not been heard of since
The Peugeot was last registered in 2012
I think they are both scrapped by now

the gti is still the king of hothatches and the best handlling car trought all test. its a gocart , the audi isnt. a slow comfort cruiser.

for hammond who is 1,7 m tall, the driving position is ok, but for tall people is awful....

Feels like unfair comparison.
Its Audi for me , you can get a 130 hp tdi version and chip it to 170 hp and have a lot of GTI fun for much more miles than Peugeot... or you simply get an s3
I've got that 130bhp tdi with a 6 speed gearbox in my much lighter mk4 ibiza but yet to get it chipped
***** one of my friend has both a3 tdi for the commuting and the 306 gti for the weekend. Day and night difference he says.

+Milos Ilic In general the Audi is the better car. Ours is the 110hp ,16 years, the only thing we've fixed on it is one of the brake lights, pump windsheild wiper fluid and the battery.
but it's torqueless in comparesing
