I always thought that verse in Song of Solomon about her describing herself as black and comely meant she was ashamed as she was tan from working outside? I know some cultures consider being tan as being poor bc they work outside with their hands. 🤔
People just cant stop worshiping people.Their favorite singers movie stars football players,the list goes on.When I was saved my posters of bands were the first to go.I no longer hold anyone on a pedestal.I show them the same respect as the next guy.When somebody told me she died I said so what,they said I should have more respect because she is a queen and above me.And you guessed it they were Catholic.Arent the royal families Protestant's or something?
The Bible says you will tell them by their fruits.

Song of Solomon 1:6 does not necessarily refer to ethnicity.
She says: "Do not look upon me because Iam dark. For the sun has tanned me.
My mother's son's were angry with me. They made me caretaker of their vineyards so that i could not take care of (myself)...my own vineyard."
The slaves and workers toiled over the lands and darkened skin was evidence of their lowly standing in society. She wasn't ashamed of her ethnicity she was ashamed of her forced social status indicated by her tanned skin common to the day laborers of that time. Whether pale or black the skin will become dark or darker when spending several hours daily,
unprotected by the beating sun.
This social distinction is seen through out all of history. Darkened skin, rough hands, very slim bodies due to hard labor and little food was NOT the presentation of the rich and powerful but the lowly.
The real Bible (King James) doesn’t say she was dark or tan it says she was black.

Hello Pastor Gene. For what I understand, the reason Solomon's brother, Adonijah, wanted to marry the Shunamite woman Abishag was that she was one of David's concubines, and by him marrying her, he could have a claim to the throne. Sort of like when Ruben slept with Milcah. That's why Solomon said to his mother if she was asking for the kingdom for his brother and the reason Solomon put him to death.
Her skin was darkened because of manual labor "Do not stare at me because I am dark, because I am darkened by the sun. My mother’s sons were angry with me and made me take care of the vineyards; my own vineyard I had to neglect." Song of Solomon 1:6 the queen of Sheba working in her own vineyard? It's highly unlikely.
Not sure what that quotation was from but it wasn’t a Bible. Stick with the King James.

I second the motion "I'm not convinced" No man she not saved by the grace of God (without offense) because this queen converted becoming Muslim before her death this past year or so.
i didn't follow Queen Elizabeth a lot but i never heard her professing JESUS CHRIST as her LORD and Savior - maybe she did . However she was Catholic so she would have prayed to MARY - not good. I DO SEE she was worshipped more than Christ by a lot of people .
