I messed up at first and started my switch journey as digital, but as soon as the Mario 3D all stars came out I had to buy it physical and that ignited my physical collection itch and now I have a very solid physical collection going even if I have rebought a lot of the games I bought digital at first. Worth it.
Woooo Let’s Go! I had a great time with it too. I think it might be my favourite way to experience Kanto. I didn’t know that you enjoyed platformers so much. You should check out Yoku’s Island Express. It’s a 2D pinball platformer, which sounds crazy, but the pinball elements are just how you navigate the world. You’ll be going along your adventure and coming upon screens with a bunch of flippers and bumpers set up. You basically solve those miniature pinball sections as if they were puzzles, and off you go on your adventure again. If you’re curious, I had it as an honourable mention towards the end of my Top 10 Pinball Games video, but I hadn’t beaten it at the time. It’s more of an adventure game than anything else!
The Switch is a colossus! It's so incredible and my favorite console to collect for now that I'm done with 3DS. Fantastic collection and my favorite game from my collection for switch... probably a toss up between Xeno 3 CE and Zelda TotK CE.
Video just came across my feed, I started to collect NSW games last year. And I archive them digitaly as well. Since it seems companies don't care. At least I have a working backup along with the hard copy of the game. I got a nice collection going so far. I try to get around 2 or 3 games every week. I wish I had more money haha. I do what you do make videos of unboxings and such as well, along with other random stuff. Good Luck with everything.
Good video Paige, you covered a lot of ground in a short period of time and generally had something to say about each game, even if you haven't quite gotten to playing it yet. With the Switch library being both incredibly massive and quite splintered in terms of physical releases, I feel like every Switch collection video I watch offers something different; like, we may own a similar number of games, but the overlap is only like 10-25%. I love that it is possible to play the vast majority of the classic FFs on Switch (even if I only have the Pixel Remasters snd 9 myself)! Final Fantasy 12 is worth playing for sure. It isn't very hard (most of the time) and offers a lot of unique elements. If you take it as its own thing (and accept that the main character is bleh because he was an afterthought) you can have a lot of fun. I really appreciate how you approach games that you don't particularly enjoy; one of the greatest things about video games is that they offer something for anyone, so it is really nice to hear "It is not for me" rather than "This game is garbage!" My wife and I both bounced off of Breath of the Wild too, that doesn't make it less of a great game though.
Yeah i hate how the common populace now think they are expert on videogame and act as if their opinion is objective. Our relation to art pieces are always subjective so we should always say: this game was not for me, i didnt enjoy this element of the game or this character, etc.
A very nice collection Despite being predominantly a digital purchaser I have somehow ended up with about 70 physical games split fairly equally between RPG's and visual novels As a result I can completely recommend Collar X Malice as a great game
So nice to see Theatrhythm getting some love - I agree it's the best Rhythm Game ever! Spend around 60 hours in it and enjoyed every single second of it, so it's definitely in my TOP20 games of 2023.

Finally! Someone who shares my opinion of Zelda BOTW. I mean don't get me wrong, it's not a bad game but i also wasnt wow'ed by it. People talk about it like it's god's gift or something. I will eventually pick up Tears of the Kingdom but it's far from the top of my list of games to get. I have over 100 games but over half of those are backlogged. I love games but with my busy schedule it can be hard to find the time. Yea yea i should probably get through the games i have before buying more but i enjoy buying games ok.
OMG tears of the kingdom is so good! I didn’t play around with the crafting very much, it’s really not necessary if it’s not you’re thing. You could still have a really fun time!
@@femtrooper they could be super overwhelming so that’s totally valid. And sometimes the story suffers cuz of how open ended they are. There’s something about exploration though that’s just so fun! But sometimes it’s nice to have some set goals to work towards 😊 I would just look up the TOTK cutscenes to see everything that happens, any Zelda fan would surely enjoy the epicness 😤
I actually started Pokémon Shield last week, just past the third gym. And... I have to agree with you. My first Pokémon game was Blue version all the way back in 2000 and have been playing ever since so I've been playing Pokémon for a good long while now. Anyway, I could get used to the open-world view but my main gripe with the game are the characters and the fact that's so much dialogue text to get through with said characters that you can't just explore the game on your own. I liked that in the older games you were largely left to your own devices and could explore the map without much trouble beyond the use of HMs outside of battle (like not be able to use Surf early on). Like in RBY, you go to Viridian City to get a parcel for Professor Oak. You return to Pallet Town and deliver it. He gives you and your rival the PokéDex. After that you return to Viridian City and could explore the game from then for the rest of the game. You could turn left to Route 22 to battle your rival again and it's completely optional. The game wisely rewards players for exploring the map by themselves. Afterwards the rival appears only occasionally (S.S. Anne, Route 22 again, etc) until the Pokémon League when you face him as the champion. Whereas in Shield, characters (especially the rival) show up everywhere and you can't just explore the game map largely by yourself. Like your rival shows up everywhere and doesn't even have much personality, if any at all. We liked the rival from RBY and Gary from the cartoon because he was something of a jerk to the player (as well as Ash) and had a personality. This new rival is just bland all around. Same with the other characters, the early gym leaders had personalities. The newer ones don't. They're just there to move the story/game along. Anyway, sorry for the rant.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like jerk rivals are coming back. I recall an interview when they said they made Blue's personality that way because of the lack of expressions in character sprites; so in order to make it clear that he's your rival he had to be as much of a jerk as possible.
I love seeing your physical collection videos. I personally grew up with physical games and don’t like buying game digitally. You lose that connection with the game and it gets lost in the mix of everything else.
I have a pretty big collection but never seem to get around to playing them. The answer lies somewhere between not being as a big of a gamer as an adult, but also my inability to push myself to play new games and go out of my comfort zone. Could be related to my autism. But I always enjoy your reviews and videos of games

Interesting! I reviewed Arceus a few years ago and I didn’t like it actually! You can check it out if you want! Wasn’t for me since it’s main focus was on catching Pokémon and not gyms or going from town to town (which I love!).
I have so many games that it would take me centuries to list them all. And I've only been able to play 20% of the games in my collection. As for my favorites thus far: Yoshi's Crafted World, DKC Tropical Freeze, Grapple Dog, Kaze and the Wild Masks, Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Link's Awakening, Collection of Mana, Tales of Symphonia, Vengeful Guardian, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Metroid Dread, Super Mario Odyssey, and god only knows what I'm forgetting.
What a quality collection! I'd do a collection video for my Switch games, but I'm pushing 300 and 60& of them haven't been played yet, lol. It's just an easy system to collect for. Love the Switch.
If you weren't so nice, smart, and sweet, I would be "upset" at the BOTW and TOTK slander. 😂😂 Also, Xenoblade 2 is my favorite of the Xeno games. I also adore Link's Awakening. I love the art style, puzzles, and story.

The switch is my favorite console also! I currently have 209 physical and ruffly another 200 digital games. My favorite games currently are Animal Crossing New Horizons, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Tetris 99. I have so many favorites though so it's hard to choose and I'd probably say something different depending on the day. I love seeing your collection 😍
Definitely give FF12 a try. I’m finally trying to get into the series after not really liking the OG FF7 and FF 10-2 back in the day. I got reinterested in the series after playing the FF7 remake last year. Now I’m working on FF13. It isn’t Ys or Trails for me, but I think the series has some solid entries. FF 9, 12, and 16 are all on the to-play list for me.
final fantasy 12 is one of the best final fantasys honestly, there are a few systems in the game you need to get used to but once you do its top tier, when it first came out on ps2 i hated it but after i beat dq11 on ps4 i gave ff12 another try and fell in love.
Cool video, it’s always a pleasure seeing others switch games❤ and hearing about theirs stories etc. Was just counting my physical switch games ( not a digital person 😈 let’s face it at the end of the day you don’t own digital content) I currently have about 60 games! Most of the being JRPGS. Just started Harvestella yesterday, OMG I’m so enjoying it❤ kinda wish their was not a limit to time personally as I like to take my time in my games.. however I’m still really enjoying in it. ( it was my fist look into farming games) Also currently playing star ocean the second story R witch I’m also loving ❤ Atelier Ryza and Atelier Sophie 2 being some of my favorites in my collection. Fallowed by Xenoblade chronicles 2 ( it’s actually my fave in the series despite its quirks 😂) And the the legend of heroes games❤ highly recommend if you like JRPGS. ( trails from zero would actually be a good starting point on the switch) Was quite surprised at how excellent a port crisis core was❤❤ having played the original psp game it was a joy to play it again ((Has anyone played a game called Haven? Have it in my collection however I have not played it yet)) Personal note regarding Kaze and the wild masks! It’s definitely a fun and challenging platformer❤ definitely get those old school donkey Kong country vibes❤❤ ( on that topic why is their no new donkey Kong game on the switch? Or even a physical port of DKC and DKC2) Top 10 fave’s on the switch being Atelier Ryza Harvestella Shantae and the pirates curse Nights of Azure 2 bride of a new moon The legend of heroes trails from zero Xenoblade chronicles 2 Death end re;Quest Empire of angels 4 Fairy fencer F: Advent dark force Dragon star varnir
Tbh I despise the look of the DQ collection due to its mismatch of pixel sizes for characters in the overworld, the originals looked way better. I've never played them. so it ain't nostalgia talking, heh. On the bright side, they're getting yet another remake, so I'm definitely keeping my eye on those.
Interesting thoughts regarding the Zeldas. Refreshing to hear critique of otherwise universally praised titles. Tears of the Kingdom is an enormous game. I haven’t even done the first dungeon yet despite buying the game at launch. I’ve put over thirty hours into it. I don’t play games as much as I used to as I’m so busy with work but it is an astonishing achievement. It took me a few years of back-and-forth to complete its predecessor. These titles are far from perfect and I’d never consider either on my best games list, but they are very enjoyable experiences worth dipping in and out of when there’s time.
The Switch is my secondary console and I still have around 45 games for it lol. We collect similar games but our opinions differs alittle bit, I could also not get into Octopath Traveler and I might try the sequel if I can get it for cheap one day. Was very disappointed with Fire Emblem Engage for Its story and characters. Xenoblade 3, Metroid Dread and Triangle Strategy are probably my favorites games on the Switch. New Super Lucky's Tale is such a gem, more people need to play that. I have it on PS4 for better FPS and resolution.
Love your collection and I'm with you on the zelda games. I really tried to like them I did. I love all the old ones tho. And you need to make time for ff12! It's different but really fun once you get it going!!!
Loved seeing your collection. I have only a few games that I don't have that you showed. I see why I love your content so much. Astral Chain and Bayonetta are both Platinum Games and wonderful combat but I feel the same. I can't really connect with them as well. I wanted to suggest getting Danganronpa physical as it has all the games. Raincode is awesome. I played in it parts as well. I'm with you on Link's Awakening. It's my favorite Zelda on Switch. I understand about physical games but Chained Echoes is very fun. I get so many games cheaply on eshop. Thank you for Dragonball Kakarot. Got it on eshop for so cheap because of your review and I love it. Hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday.
Big reason is the portability - it’s both! It’s a console on my TV or in bed or at the park. It helps a lot as a parent and the fact that you can have each joy con in each hand allows me to play and run on the treadmill. Also, the selection is just phenomenal! So many great games. It’s just the best console!
Great collection! Some games for me to check out and many of the ones you have on Switch I have on either PS4 or PS5. I have Octopath 2 on PS4 but still haven't got around to it. I tried to get into the first game, but yes so much grinding. I heard to many great things with the 2nd though so hopefully I'll get around to it more at some point. I have way too many 100+ hour games to still get through. My collection is I would say medium sized. 65 games currently. I actually just did a collection video for my Switch like 2 days ago myself lol. My favorite Switch game currently is Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Absolutely loved it and currently getting around to the first Xenoblade game now
I totally agree that DKC: Tropical Freeze is a really good game, but it doesn't have the same feel as the original trilogy which are some of my all time favorites. I wish we could get a new game that feels like those. 😭
The Switch is indeed a great console, a very interesting choice of games that you like and don’t like as much (I couldn’t pinpoint a pattern 🤣). But 1000 gold stars for mentioning New Super Lucky’s Tale 😊
I’m so with you on Octopath. I finished the first game (and did like it!) but have been dragging my heels on getting the second because I feel like I’m just in for another world of unbearable grinding, even if the story is awesome lol I hate for my games to feel like work!
RE: The Outbound Ghost. I actually also own it on Switch physically though I haven't played it either. The channel Slope's Game Room did a video earlier this year that summarizes what happened well (including game footage of the issues), but the short version is that the console port versions of the game are very buggy with the Switch version being the worst affected.* I believe there was a patch released, but I don't know how much it fixed since I didn't download it and I'm not sure if it's even accessible now since the game has been delisted from the eShop while the developer and publisher are suing each other over the game's treatment. The only way to even have the game on Switch now is to find the physical version. *Tangentially since you showed off Tales of Symphonia, I love that on Gamecube 20 years ago, but apparently the Switch "Remaster" was also very buggy and at least at launch was considered the worst way to play that game in the 20 years of re-releases it has had. There was a patch but I don't know how much it fixed there either since I haven't played it on Switch. Anyway, my Switch collection is over 100 games, if not maybe over 150 at this point. I didn't intend to become a "Switch Game Collector." It sort of just....~happened?~ over the course of owning the console for near 6 years. Like I mainly just see something on discount or a sale or whatever and am like "Eh, why not? Guess I'll buy that since it's on sale right now." Like even this past weekend there was a temporary Buy2Get1Free promotion at a store that even applied to preorders so I thought "Well, if I was thinking about buying these 3 games in the future anyway I may as well get one locked in for free now." The result is a wild mixture of various genres - visual novels, platformers, puzzle games, RPGs, strategy games, and whatever. My favorite Switch game to play though, is Splatoon 3. I don't even like multiplayer shooters in general but something about the Splatoon games is consistently appealing to me and keeps me playing almost daily.
Thank you for the recommendation for that video! I’m definitely going to watch it! I may have to just open it up and give it a try and see how buggy it is. My experience with Tales actually wasn’t too bad! Just didn’t care for it overall.
The guy behind The Outbound Ghost has a youtube channel (conradical) and i remember he did a few videos of the struggles he was facing with the publisher. I honestly feel bad for the guy, he wants to fix it but the publisher seems to be a massive turd.

I bought the physical for outbound ghost as well since it looked amazing tobme. and it's also still wrapped in plastic because of what I heard. That and another experience really soured my desire to buy from LRG and Super rare but I prefer physical copies over digital so I just feel caught in limbo

I felt the same way about Wonder and Odyssey. I remember leaving the SNES on overnight to save the 99 lives so my buddy and I could play World all weekend. I remember waking up from a dream about Mario 64, looking around my room and thinking "how do I get this star?" They just didn't make me feel like that . . .
@TheDneaves True. Mario 64 was one of the first 3D games I played. I would argue Super Mario World is still a better game than Wonder. There's also so many more other games I've played since then, so there's a lot more competition. But I am definitely old, too.
Really nice collection!! I currently have 93 physical Switch games and I am still looking for more to add. I just love the variety of games that have come out for this platform. It reminds me of the excitement I had for the plethora of games that released for the DS. I totally understand the need for physical games but I do love the convenience of getting some digitally because some are getting really hard to find. I am glad I own a physical copy of Torna since that is going up in value but I still need to get Xenoblade 2 let alone start the trilogy. I'm especially excited to add Super Mario RPG to the collection this Friday and the Another Code remake collection. :D As for my favorite Switch games, I love Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, Super Mario Odyssey, Metroid Dread, and NEO: The World Ends With You.
My favorite Switch games are Skyrim and Hades...though to be fair those are up there among my all time favorite games and I generally play those on other platforms. As far as Switch exclusives I'm partial to the Hyrule Warriors games. From what little I've played of it Super Mario Bros Wonder is giving me that same sense of...well, wonder as playing Super Mario World did for 10 year old me back in the day and I could see myself spending hours upon hours on that game.
Both Forgotten Land and Return to Dream Land are the Top 2 best Kirby games ever made. Return to Dream Land in particular is one of my favorite video games of all time. What really holds the Deluxe version back for me though is the fact that there's no online multiplayer at all nor option to remove the character outlines to make it look more like the original version, which is so stupid and keeps this from being the definitive version of the game IMO. If it weren't for those things holding it back, Return to Dream Land Deluxe would very easily be the greatest game you could possibly get on the Switch, no question. Also that's interesting to hear about you refunding Tears of the Kingdom. I've only played through half of the game so far, and from what I've played, it's pretty much better than Breath of the Wild in every single way. Btw you broke my heart when talking about Sonic Mania. Lol, that's another one of my all-time favorite video games. It's easily the best Sonic game without question. I can see why Sonic in general isn't for everyone though. One last thing I want to say. Whoever you've heard mixed things about Sunshine from is lying. 🙂 Sunshine is by far the best 3D Mario there is, and no that's not an exaggeration.
I’ll give Sunshine a try at some point! And I haven’t even tried TOTK lol it’s not my game and because I didn’t care for BOTW I don’t care to bother. Just not my kind of game but that’s ok!
My favorite game I have on Switch is Rune Factory 4 Special, which I highly assume you would hate. I also like Café Enchanté, Cupid Parasite, and Fire Emblem Three Houses.
Oh my goshhhh, CTR Nitro Fueled is my favorite racing game of all time! I think it's so INCREDIBLY superior to every Mario Kart in almost every way. 😭 I hope one day you go back to it and can see the light (ha)!

FFXII: TZA is one of my favorite games of all time, and from what I know about your taste… I don’t think you will love it as much as I do, tbh. But in terms of the difficulty, it is like most FF games in that the main story is not very difficult and the challenges are in the optional content (the later hunts and optional espers). I think my taste is similar to your husband’s! BOTW is my favorite LoZ game but TOTK just did not click with me.
Oh my goodness, get Collar X Malice! It's my favourite otome game and the sequel is not a fan disk, it really takes the initial story into a different, very dark, direction. The music is also wonderful.
I picked this up a couple of days ago. I have all three now. You are right, there is something lost with a lack of stylus control. I loved Curtain Call more than this due to stylus use, but this one is still wonderful. Between this newest one and Kingfom Hearts: Melody of Memories, I like KH better. It is obviously a Theatrythm game. I like KH's quests better and the gameplay makes me forget all about stylus control.
@femtrooper Well, it literally should Have been called Theatrythm. It is only difference is the 3D perspective. Just ad there is Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior ones, this one is Kingdom Hearts You said in this video that you don't have to be a Final Fantasy fan to enjoy the game. The Kingdom hearts one probably is a great place to get a quick rundown on the series. I highly recommend it!
You definitely should play Final Fantasy XII. I played a little bit on PS2 but I didn’t like the battle system and the aesthetic. I dropped it. Then, I got the Switch version maybe 2,3 years ago and played it again, I love it!
You almost gave me a heart attack not liking Astral chain or Bayonetta. You should try Cereza and the lost demon, same world of Bayo. Gameplay is way different, very very underrated game.
Please please please give Bayonetta 2 a shot there's a big upgrade to the visuals, colors and gameplay and I even consider it being better than Bayo 3. It is a masterpiece imo.
Bayonetta 2 and 3 are different beasts compared to the first one which actually is a remake of the PS3 original. Especially Bayonetta 3 blew me away. I would recommand you to at least try the 2nd one. It is also much more colourful and les nasty. Imo one of the best Switch series. And Crash Team Racing is the second best racer after Mario Kart, infact there is not a better alternative to MK8 out there.
I followed you on Twitter because you loved Fire Emblem Engage the best! I did NOT like Three houses! And your TASTE is similar to mine! Dragon Quest XI - is top Tier! I love the fact you are honest with your taste and don't care what others say.. Final Fantasy 12 is great! It's addicting and takes some time getting use and cleared it! The ending was not great...

The Switch is a colossus! It's so incredible and my favorite console to collect for now that I'm done with 3DS. Fantastic collection and my favorite game from my collection for switch... probably a toss up between Xeno 3 CE and Zelda TotK CE.

Video just came across my feed, I started to collect NSW games last year. And I archive them digitaly as well. Since it seems companies don't care. At least I have a working backup along with the hard copy of the game. I got a nice collection going so far. I try to get around 2 or 3 games every week. I wish I had more money haha. I do what you do make videos of unboxings and such as well, along with other random stuff. Good Luck with everything.

Good video Paige, you covered a lot of ground in a short period of time and generally had something to say about each game, even if you haven't quite gotten to playing it yet.
With the Switch library being both incredibly massive and quite splintered in terms of physical releases, I feel like every Switch collection video I watch offers something different; like, we may own a similar number of games, but the overlap is only like 10-25%.
I love that it is possible to play the vast majority of the classic FFs on Switch (even if I only have the Pixel Remasters snd 9 myself)!
Final Fantasy 12 is worth playing for sure. It isn't very hard (most of the time) and offers a lot of unique elements. If you take it as its own thing (and accept that the main character is bleh because he was an afterthought) you can have a lot of fun.
I really appreciate how you approach games that you don't particularly enjoy; one of the greatest things about video games is that they offer something for anyone, so it is really nice to hear "It is not for me" rather than "This game is garbage!" My wife and I both bounced off of Breath of the Wild too, that doesn't make it less of a great game though.

Yeah i hate how the common populace now think they are expert on videogame and act as if their opinion is objective. Our relation to art pieces are always subjective so we should always say: this game was not for me, i didnt enjoy this element of the game or this character, etc.

Despite being predominantly a digital purchaser I have somehow ended up with about 70 physical games split fairly equally between RPG's and visual novels
As a result I can completely recommend Collar X Malice as a great game

So nice to see Theatrhythm getting some love - I agree it's the best Rhythm Game ever! Spend around 60 hours in it and enjoyed every single second of it, so it's definitely in my TOP20 games of 2023.

Finally! Someone who shares my opinion of Zelda BOTW. I mean don't get me wrong, it's not a bad game but i also wasnt wow'ed by it. People talk about it like it's god's gift or something. I will eventually pick up Tears of the Kingdom but it's far from the top of my list of games to get.
I have over 100 games but over half of those are backlogged. I love games but with my busy schedule it can be hard to find the time. Yea yea i should probably get through the games i have before buying more but i enjoy buying games ok.

@@femtrooper they could be super overwhelming so that’s totally valid. And sometimes the story suffers cuz of how open ended they are. There’s something about exploration though that’s just so fun! But sometimes it’s nice to have some set goals to work towards 😊 I would just look up the TOTK cutscenes to see everything that happens, any Zelda fan would surely enjoy the epicness 😤
I actually started Pokémon Shield last week, just past the third gym. And... I have to agree with you. My first Pokémon game was Blue version all the way back in 2000 and have been playing ever since so I've been playing Pokémon for a good long while now.
Anyway, I could get used to the open-world view but my main gripe with the game are the characters and the fact that's so much dialogue text to get through with said characters that you can't just explore the game on your own. I liked that in the older games you were largely left to your own devices and could explore the map without much trouble beyond the use of HMs outside of battle (like not be able to use Surf early on).
Like in RBY, you go to Viridian City to get a parcel for Professor Oak. You return to Pallet Town and deliver it. He gives you and your rival the PokéDex. After that you return to Viridian City and could explore the game from then for the rest of the game. You could turn left to Route 22 to battle your rival again and it's completely optional. The game wisely rewards players for exploring the map by themselves. Afterwards the rival appears only occasionally (S.S. Anne, Route 22 again, etc) until the Pokémon League when you face him as the champion.
Whereas in Shield, characters (especially the rival) show up everywhere and you can't just explore the game map largely by yourself. Like your rival shows up everywhere and doesn't even have much personality, if any at all. We liked the rival from RBY and Gary from the cartoon because he was something of a jerk to the player (as well as Ash) and had a personality. This new rival is just bland all around. Same with the other characters, the early gym leaders had personalities. The newer ones don't. They're just there to move the story/game along.
Anyway, sorry for the rant.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like jerk rivals are coming back.
I recall an interview when they said they made Blue's personality that way because of the lack of expressions in character sprites; so in order to make it clear that he's your rival he had to be as much of a jerk as possible.
I feel you. I've played a few of the newer games and I don't really like them, except for Arceus. I had lots of fun with that one.

I love seeing your physical collection videos. I personally grew up with physical games and don’t like buying game digitally. You lose that connection with the game and it gets lost in the mix of everything else.

Interesting! I reviewed Arceus a few years ago and I didn’t like it actually! You can check it out if you want! Wasn’t for me since it’s main focus was on catching Pokémon and not gyms or going from town to town (which I love!).

I have so many games that it would take me centuries to list them all. And I've only been able to play 20% of the games in my collection. As for my favorites thus far: Yoshi's Crafted World, DKC Tropical Freeze, Grapple Dog, Kaze and the Wild Masks, Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom, Link's Awakening, Collection of Mana, Tales of Symphonia, Vengeful Guardian, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Metroid Dread, Super Mario Odyssey, and god only knows what I'm forgetting.

The switch is my favorite console also! I currently have 209 physical and ruffly another 200 digital games. My favorite games currently are Animal Crossing New Horizons, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Tetris 99. I have so many favorites though so it's hard to choose and I'd probably say something different depending on the day.

I got reinterested in the series after playing the FF7 remake last year. Now I’m working on FF13. It isn’t Ys or Trails for me, but I think the series has some solid entries. FF 9, 12, and 16 are all on the to-play list for me.

final fantasy 12 is one of the best final fantasys honestly, there are a few systems in the game you need to get used to but once you do its top tier, when it first came out on ps2 i hated it but after i beat dq11 on ps4 i gave ff12 another try and fell in love.

Tbh I despise the look of the DQ collection due to its mismatch of pixel sizes for characters in the overworld, the originals looked way better. I've never played them. so it ain't nostalgia talking, heh. On the bright side, they're getting yet another remake, so I'm definitely keeping my eye on those.

Tears of the Kingdom is an enormous game. I haven’t even done the first dungeon yet despite buying the game at launch. I’ve put over thirty hours into it. I don’t play games as much as I used to as I’m so busy with work but it is an astonishing achievement.
It took me a few years of back-and-forth to complete its predecessor. These titles are far from perfect and I’d never consider either on my best games list, but they are very enjoyable experiences worth dipping in and out of when there’s time.
Oh, I respect the heck out of them! They just aren’t a genre that I’m into but I still like some Zelda titles! I’m the odd one out for sure!

The Switch is my secondary console and I still have around 45 games for it lol. We collect similar games but our opinions differs alittle bit, I could also not get into Octopath Traveler and I might try the sequel if I can get it for cheap one day. Was very disappointed with Fire Emblem Engage for Its story and characters. Xenoblade 3, Metroid Dread and Triangle Strategy are probably my favorites games on the Switch. New Super Lucky's Tale is such a gem, more people need to play that. I have it on PS4 for better FPS and resolution.

Big reason is the portability - it’s both! It’s a console on my TV or in bed or at the park. It helps a lot as a parent and the fact that you can have each joy con in each hand allows me to play and run on the treadmill. Also, the selection is just phenomenal! So many great games. It’s just the best console!

Great collection! Some games for me to check out and many of the ones you have on Switch I have on either PS4 or PS5. I have Octopath 2 on PS4 but still haven't got around to it. I tried to get into the first game, but yes so much grinding. I heard to many great things with the 2nd though so hopefully I'll get around to it more at some point. I have way too many 100+ hour games to still get through.
My collection is I would say medium sized. 65 games currently. I actually just did a collection video for my Switch like 2 days ago myself lol. My favorite Switch game currently is Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Absolutely loved it and currently getting around to the first Xenoblade game now

I totally agree that DKC: Tropical Freeze is a really good game, but it doesn't have the same feel as the original trilogy which are some of my all time favorites. I wish we could get a new game that feels like those. 😭

I’m so with you on Octopath. I finished the first game (and did like it!) but have been dragging my heels on getting the second because I feel like I’m just in for another world of unbearable grinding, even if the story is awesome lol

If you explore everwhere you dont have to grind per say because of the random encounters which can be halved with a skill from the Scholar class
RE: The Outbound Ghost. I actually also own it on Switch physically though I haven't played it either. The channel Slope's Game Room did a video earlier this year that summarizes what happened well (including game footage of the issues), but the short version is that the console port versions of the game are very buggy with the Switch version being the worst affected.* I believe there was a patch released, but I don't know how much it fixed since I didn't download it and I'm not sure if it's even accessible now since the game has been delisted from the eShop while the developer and publisher are suing each other over the game's treatment. The only way to even have the game on Switch now is to find the physical version.
*Tangentially since you showed off Tales of Symphonia, I love that on Gamecube 20 years ago, but apparently the Switch "Remaster" was also very buggy and at least at launch was considered the worst way to play that game in the 20 years of re-releases it has had. There was a patch but I don't know how much it fixed there either since I haven't played it on Switch.
Anyway, my Switch collection is over 100 games, if not maybe over 150 at this point. I didn't intend to become a "Switch Game Collector." It sort of just....~happened?~ over the course of owning the console for near 6 years. Like I mainly just see something on discount or a sale or whatever and am like "Eh, why not? Guess I'll buy that since it's on sale right now." Like even this past weekend there was a temporary Buy2Get1Free promotion at a store that even applied to preorders so I thought "Well, if I was thinking about buying these 3 games in the future anyway I may as well get one locked in for free now." The result is a wild mixture of various genres - visual novels, platformers, puzzle games, RPGs, strategy games, and whatever. My favorite Switch game to play though, is Splatoon 3. I don't even like multiplayer shooters in general but something about the Splatoon games is consistently appealing to me and keeps me playing almost daily.

The guy behind The Outbound Ghost has a youtube channel (conradical) and i remember he did a few videos of the struggles he was facing with the publisher. I honestly feel bad for the guy, he wants to fix it but the publisher seems to be a massive turd.

I bought the physical for outbound ghost as well since it looked amazing tobme. and it's also still wrapped in plastic because of what I heard. That and another experience really soured my desire to buy from LRG and Super rare but I prefer physical copies over digital so I just feel caught in limbo

I felt the same way about Wonder and Odyssey. I remember leaving the SNES on overnight to save the 99 lives so my buddy and I could play World all weekend. I remember waking up from a dream about Mario 64, looking around my room and thinking "how do I get this star?" They just didn't make me feel like that . . .

@TheDneaves True. Mario 64 was one of the first 3D games I played. I would argue Super Mario World is still a better game than Wonder. There's also so many more other games I've played since then, so there's a lot more competition. But I am definitely old, too.
Really nice collection!! I currently have 93 physical Switch games and I am still looking for more to add. I just love the variety of games that have come out for this platform. It reminds me of the excitement I had for the plethora of games that released for the DS. I totally understand the need for physical games but I do love the convenience of getting some digitally because some are getting really hard to find. I am glad I own a physical copy of Torna since that is going up in value but I still need to get Xenoblade 2 let alone start the trilogy. I'm especially excited to add Super Mario RPG to the collection this Friday and the Another Code remake collection. :D As for my favorite Switch games, I love Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, Super Mario Odyssey, Metroid Dread, and NEO: The World Ends With You.

My favorite Switch games are Skyrim and Hades...though to be fair those are up there among my all time favorite games and I generally play those on other platforms.
As far as Switch exclusives I'm partial to the Hyrule Warriors games. From what little I've played of it Super Mario Bros Wonder is giving me that same sense of...well, wonder as playing Super Mario World did for 10 year old me back in the day and I could see myself spending hours upon hours on that game.

Both Forgotten Land and Return to Dream Land are the Top 2 best Kirby games ever made. Return to Dream Land in particular is one of my favorite video games of all time. What really holds the Deluxe version back for me though is the fact that there's no online multiplayer at all nor option to remove the character outlines to make it look more like the original version, which is so stupid and keeps this from being the definitive version of the game IMO. If it weren't for those things holding it back, Return to Dream Land Deluxe would very easily be the greatest game you could possibly get on the Switch, no question.
Also that's interesting to hear about you refunding Tears of the Kingdom. I've only played through half of the game so far, and from what I've played, it's pretty much better than Breath of the Wild in every single way.
Btw you broke my heart when talking about Sonic Mania. Lol, that's another one of my all-time favorite video games. It's easily the best Sonic game without question. I can see why Sonic in general isn't for everyone though.
One last thing I want to say. Whoever you've heard mixed things about Sunshine from is lying. 🙂 Sunshine is by far the best 3D Mario there is, and no that's not an exaggeration.

My favorite game I have on Switch is Rune Factory 4 Special, which I highly assume you would hate. I also like Café Enchanté, Cupid Parasite, and Fire Emblem Three Houses.

Oh my goshhhh, CTR Nitro Fueled is my favorite racing game of all time! I think it's so INCREDIBLY superior to every Mario Kart in almost every way. 😭 I hope one day you go back to it and can see the light (ha)!
I will! I think it literally came out when my son was like a week old so my brain just wasn’t feeling it. I’m sure it would be different now!

FFXII: TZA is one of my favorite games of all time, and from what I know about your taste… I don’t think you will love it as much as I do, tbh. But in terms of the difficulty, it is like most FF games in that the main story is not very difficult and the challenges are in the optional content (the later hunts and optional espers).
I think my taste is similar to your husband’s! BOTW is my favorite LoZ game but TOTK just did not click with me.

Oh my goodness, get Collar X Malice! It's my favourite otome game and the sequel is not a fan disk, it really takes the initial story into a different, very dark, direction. The music is also wonderful.

You are right, there is something lost with a lack of stylus control.
I loved Curtain Call more than this due to stylus use, but this one is still wonderful.
Between this newest one and Kingfom Hearts: Melody of Memories, I like KH better. It is obviously a Theatrythm game.
I like KH's quests better and the gameplay makes me forget all about stylus control.

@femtrooper Well, it literally should Have been called Theatrythm. It is only difference is the 3D perspective. Just ad there is Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior ones, this one is Kingdom Hearts
You said in this video that you don't have to be a Final Fantasy fan to enjoy the game.
The Kingdom hearts one probably is a great place to get a quick rundown on the series. I highly recommend it!

You definitely should play Final Fantasy XII. I played a little bit on PS2 but I didn’t like the battle system and the aesthetic. I dropped it. Then, I got the Switch version maybe 2,3 years ago and played it again, I love it!

You should try Cereza and the lost demon, same world of Bayo. Gameplay is way different, very very underrated game.
Yeah, I thought the demo was kinda neat so maybe one day I’d check it out. I liked Astral Chain and Bayonetta but I’ll admit they aren’t favourites.
I only collect physical games for Nintendo Switch. I enjoy them. My favorites are Fire Emblem games, musou, visual novels, and jrpgs.

Please please please give Bayonetta 2 a shot there's a big upgrade to the visuals, colors and gameplay and I even consider it being better than Bayo 3. It is a masterpiece imo.

Bayonetta 2 and 3 are different beasts compared to the first one which actually is a remake of the PS3 original. Especially Bayonetta 3 blew me away. I would recommand you to at least try the 2nd one. It is also much more colourful and les nasty. Imo one of the best Switch series. And Crash Team Racing is the second best racer after Mario Kart, infact there is not a better alternative to MK8 out there.

Final Fantasy 12 is great! It's addicting and takes some time getting use and cleared it! The ending was not great...
