You are more than welcome in Bulgaria! Stay positive! you can’t please everyone and you shouldn’t. I am thankful that you chose my country for your new home! It’s going to be perfect and beautiful when it’s done! Stay warm and healthy!
Paul. Beware of covering the floors with lino. Especially wood floors. Lino does not breathe and if there is any rising damp it will soon rot the wooden floors and you will have worse problems. Mould, maybe wet and dry rot.. Best to start fresh. If the wood floors are good, use them and cover with carpets that breathe. Or take them out and investigate what is underneath. Put in a plastic membrane on sand, then reinforced concrete. On top you can put what you like. Tiles, laminate, lino etc. Just my thoughts. 🙂
Tell your mate I buy my timber in 13m lengths, trouble is my van is only 4.2m but an old safety vest strapped to the back of 6.5m lengths has meant I ain't been stopped.....yet😀 Ytong blocks will suck moisture in like a sponge. You have enough room over the bathroom to put rafters and an onduline ( cheap) roof, the bitumen will only last a year or two, if you are lucky. I have an Irish passport, did all my immigration and car stuff myself, just takes patience, lots of it. Invest in some PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) and some PBE ( Play By Ear). 🙂
@@daven6626 i still have my flatcap on indoors bud . its -5 here this morning . the money some folk could save on heating alone would pay for a doer upper in bulgaria over a few years .
LOL @ The cow trespassers! Weather looks unbelievable, as usual! I have an Irish passport/Darren UK passport, but luckily we also had permanent residency cards from when we lived there before, so it was very easy for us. Love the bright red wheelbarrow. Look forward to more soon ;)
Hi again good channel, just remember that the wood needs to be seasoned for a year before burning, otherwise you could end up with a chimney fire, because of creosote,a mate of mine had one and had to get the fire brigade out,,you can buy eco blocks, made from crushed sunflower seeds,I burn them, give off a lot more heat than wood,,,4 cube is about 2 ton, depending on what the wood is ,oak is heavier, but good luck
Nice one, hope it all goes well for you, at least having 2 " houses" means you get the chance to do one properly whilst living in the other.( Nothing worse than having to live in a building site) Like your location, deffo 4wd , better than Manton quarry lol.
@Kaloyan128 no you don't need too at all the original double glassing was great iam hand stripping them down one by one and restoring them 😁 We don't want a new uk looking house we want a mix of traditional and add a touch of modern inside All windows are solid no rot at all all work perfectly just paint has dried up and needs stripping

Hi are u concerned about bulgaria joining the euro well it's supposed to be 1 st Jan 2025 concerning prices as I lived greece 12 years and euro came in destroyed it do u think this may happen there
It's all been rejected again now pushed to 2027 till Bulgaria can get there finances in order Yes things will go up but as living in UK is silly expensive we will still be living a nice life here in bg
Paul, you will need another truck load of wood. I usually get through 2 or 3 of those and the house is sealed. Get a second load before winter kicks in. You wont regret it 😁
@daven6626 yep getting another load end of the month I just need to make room and empty a shed out also getting more coal We only have 1 log burner going so it's not using much also iam chopping up all old wood on land and in buildings ready for next year
Can i ask a question as you have been through the buying process and im in bulgaria and have found a house. How did you pay for the house. The agent i am eith is saying i have to pay the seller direct and that worries me
@alisonsherlock7609 we went with Bulgariadirect.com and bought ours your seller sounds very fishy you must get notary to sign all paperwork or you don't own the house
The agent is bg.homes in bulgaria in popovo but they are saying to pay direct to the seller I'm so confused why I cant pay them and they pay the seller
@alisonsherlock7609 I've seen the company online but that does not sound right ? What is the agent doing for you ? Are they setting up a company for you to buy your house if your on uk passport?

@TheOffgridNomadUK I'm very sure you been warm welcome from Bulgarians but my very bad experience over 10 years all over the England wasn't like yours in Bulgaria....and this is a fact, im just very very frustrated how disgusting my family been treated from English people in England....guess they acting different ways to Bulgarians in Bulgaria....facts speaks very loud....also there is no compare between English and Bulgarians houses! Every English house is cover with black mold...I been to no one house but almost every where in England....the building of the houses are so poor quality in England and not every English can afford them that's why they buying in Bulgaria....I would like you to not talk with ironic about Bulgarians and Bulgaria!? I'm prepared to left England very soon because my experience here is very bad just because of the ways my family been treated from the English people! Cheers for your lovely comment keep watching and see the results only £5k spent on house 1 and nearly finished just waiting for new kitchen delivery on 16th Dec Local builder is English aswell been herec12 years fixing houses

Gypsum plaster is not good for bathrooms. Lime-cement plaster is better. A contact primer is also needed to better bond the old and new plaster.
