The purpose of the gun is the show moz that he cannot win against it. Moz doesn't want to die any more than they want to kill him, so he'll refrain from fighting back. The biggest issue people have with that argument is they don't account for people that want to fight. Those of us that don't want to fight, need to prepare for those that do otherwise the fighters will take control and we'll return to a barbaric time where the strong conquer the weak. It'd be ideal if people didn't want to constantly seize control over others, but it's inevitable.

The stonification heals everything. However, Kinro still needs glasses. Why doesn't it fix his eyesight? Also, this is the show of cliffhangers. Every episode ends with a cliffhanger. It's worse than Attack on Titan in that respect.
Petrification can't fix Kinro's nor Suika's bad eyesight because is something they were born with. Their bodies are naturally like that. So is more possible that if they get their eyesight fix and are petrified their bad eyesight will return when restored.
