Thank you for a very good video. I am building this pre after inspiration from Michael Beany's site where he is glowing in admiration of this. He points out that varying R1 can give you various output changes and he discusses these in some detail. To do his praise justice I upgraded some parts. I do not trust Chinese parts and have bought know caps and 1% resistors and opamp. I tested all the transistors to verify that they were in spec. So far so good.
Seems a decent bit of kit. Cool that you can "flavor" the tone with swappable op amps. Thanks for sharing your adventures, Elecifun. Have a great evening amigo. 🫡 🍻
Yes, I understand. That sounds like a fun fidget. Finding the perfect op amp for your musical taste would be an interesting leg of the tone quest journey. I imagine it's a bit like swapping tubes in a valve amp. Thanks for sharing your journey, amigo. 🫡 🍻
@decem_unosquattro9538 some do, you can buy or build tone boards with or without volume control. These days a lot of people myself included use music players as source and volume is built in. I don't like tone controls myself I like everything flat.
Hi, which preamp do you prefer based on sound and technical quality? - C3810M Accuphase - C3850 MoFi Accuphase - PM14A MoFi Marantz - NAC52Se Naim I know your opinion about sound, which is subjective (which is true), but still I am curious which preamp is the best performer (for a poweramp driver)?

@Sonic_Ox Its a way to adjust the overall 'flavor' different op amps do sound different.

That's a nice little preamp. Aren't they supposed to have volume, treble, and bass controls?

@@Elecifun oh okay. 🤔 Tone means, treble and bass right?
@decem_unosquattro9538 Yeah conventional tone controls would be for bass and treble.
Ive seen these with 3 inputs with relays and a knob switch for selecting inputs. I plan on ordering one of those.
I have the same kit and have some noise at input for class A PASS ACA i don't understand why
You didnt say ANY WORD how it SOUND? this is MOST important!
@yellow_noise3 sound is subjective as you know. I show the measurement. I can't determine how it will sound to you.

More fake Ali express components.
The components used here are NOT fakes, don't judge till you have built and tested it for yourself.
