Nice and beef innards, based on a Swiss professional amp from 1990 (?) and as far as I can tell the original design was XLR input only, no phono input. Things are OK for aspirational audiophiles on a tight budget.
It doesn't have the famous input module (big black box) responsible for balanced to unbalanced (they are not fully balanced) mode. Without this it loses the extreme signal to noise level of the original FM. Circuit board is also different so not close to FM but there are much better clones all doe more expensive on Ali. Very good for the money but not a real FM clone.
Which pre amp can I use with it? Need one for turntable, DAC and headphone amp. The pre amp must ha e like my normaö amp,eg tape in and out for the DAC. All pre amp I see have not enough connections
Dartzeel is not fully balanced what they wanted was a fast musical amp with a limited amount of components in the signal path for best sound (not possible with balanced amp). If you want the best signal to noise and low thd (much negative Feedback) then Dartzeel is not for you. It is closer in construction to a tube amp and closer in sound without the drawback of a tube amp! Balanced is not a silver Bullitt or best sound and it is expensive to make.

I just looked up images of the genuine FM801 at this clone is a far better looking amp. The genuine one has an industrial look about it and is pretty ugly IMO.
Yes, it's a rare thing to see shielded transformer in power amps. My Cambridge Audio 851W monsters also have them unshielded. I think Accu clones are the only ones I saw with shielding.
I don't like the many fuses. My amplifier uses only one, which if you consider that fuses do influence the sound it's only making it worse and good fuses are VERY expensive. this is my commend for now. 🙂 I think it's well build but not so smart, balanced and than not really for example. I wonder if the synergy between the FM255 preamp and this amp is better than with the Dartzeel D5. I hope you include this in your upcoming review.

Just bought the Dartzeel NHB 108. Do you know if that one is true balanced? Probably the same as this I suppose. Keep up the good work man!

Easy to swap a sheilded one in.
