- This is a biography of a Chinatown gangster from the late 1800s and early 1900s named Situ Meitang 司徒美堂. Situ was a tong leader & head of the Ghee Kung Tong aka Chinese Freemasons in America. He wasnt a typical gangster, he had friends at the highest of society Like FDR & Mao.
I like crime stories, I love Chinese culture and history. Politics are inherently necessary this boss was amazing. A unique individual. Chinese have always had a tough time, I'm glad he was able to live out his life through turbulent times and remain a significant character.

The man was part of a Chinese association that prides itself on protecting Chinese people during a century where Chinese people were treated like dogs. He was able to live through the Korean War and the revolution where the unequal treaties were revoked and China was able to stand up against Imperialism through armed force and came out on top. His nationalist dream was probably granted in his later years.
