I thought it got much deeper closer to land off Panama City area. I’ve fished all my life off Tarpon Springs. I’m thinking of moving to the Pan Handle. Do you have a pro or con between offshore fishing Tampa compared to Panama City areas..???
I started fishing a few years ago. Never understood why right-handed people use right-hand retrieves.... seems counter-intuitive to me. But I guess people create muscle memory.
Descending devices are definitely safer for the fish and angler in most scenarios and we prefer to use them. There are a few situations where venting can be preferred and help improve survival so we try to teach anglers the proper way to vent so they aren't doing more harm than good with the venting tool!

80-90 miles off shore. Phew! I'd hate to see the fuel bills. But I guess once in a while, it would be worth it.
Brent maybe you should shift over to a left-hand retrieve reels.
