    I am a fan of Rane so I definetely prefer the 70 : sound quality, phono preamps, build quality, feeling of the pads, upfaders, overall design... But in the other hand, the S7 has more features. Not only the Bluetooth input and the exclusive loop midi features, but also the same 22 FX found on the S11 (the Pioneer ducking echo is much more usable that the one the Rane 70), the same pad modes found on the S11 including Cue Loop which is missing on the 70. The S7 also detects BPM on actual vinyls (the 70 doesn't, you need to tap). That being said, some S7 users are having problems with the upfaders after less than a year of use. The 70 is rock solid.

    I just got this mixer, DJM S7, and I calibrated the turntables inside the Serato software. But for some reason I can constantly hear the tone playing, no matter what functions I have it on. I can still hear it even when I play the music. Even when the music is not playing and the needle is still going around the control vinyl, I can still hear the tone nonstop! Is there a reason why this is???

    • @djliddiog3105

      I didn’t notice a difference when connected properly the Rane is definitely not suited for a RCA setup you lose sound quality by not using the main out which is XLR but the s7 gives you that ability to use RCA as a main out and maintains sound quality

      @@djliddiog3105 not quite. The soundcard in the Rane 70 and 72 mixers is the same as the MP2015 and that is one of the best sounding mixers on the planet. So tired of what feels like companies trying hard to limit equipment to force you to buy most expensive. All have minor flaws that is just on purpose. s7 got crap line faders, s5 got single input per channel, rane is huge since they re-used 72 casing, elite got no hardware effects, rane use plastic encoders, pioneer cheaped out on ria-amps, s7 no instant doubles button etc. I don´t want s11 with pointless screen. But feel like i need to buy it to not get punished and even then I still get budget ria-amps. God damnit.

  • @willthomas1819
    @willthomas1819 ปีที่แล้ว

    I love the Rane 70. Some cons though. For one thing, the session out and the booth don't have as much power in its output like the master out. Fortunately, you don't need it to serve it's purpose. Session out is enough to run thru pc input for streaming. And boot is enough for what it's meant for. If you need more inputs for a sub, just link up with your 15's like you're supposed to. Problem solved.
    Second con, the Rane 70 will crash if you have your Serato master levels too high. Fix that, and you're golden.
