Love watching your films on the big TV screen but always make sure I go back to the computer to give it a like and make a comment. I do appreciate the replies too. Cheers, Marty from Perth
Thank you Marty for taking the time to go back to your computer to give it a like and comment, it really helps us and means a lot! We need more subscribers like you 😄 We really appreciate you following along for such a long time.
Loved this K'gari adventure and Bowser is just a beast, being effortless through those trails. I think you guys have a great power to weight ratio and did a phenomenal job on the build. Thoroughly enjoyed this series. Cheers from India✌
Australia has the mist beautiful and diverse landscapes and throw-in the incredible wildlife and Jurassic fauna. Those rainforest look like something out of a movie set.
We spent an entire month on K'gari last December in our Unimog U5023, we had a fantastic time and absolutely loved Awinya Creek. The track across was narrow in places added thousands of scratches and inadvertently collected a truck load of firewood on the roof.
It is nice to see you being more confident with the way you drive the mog now. That soft sand and the last episode river crossing would be very difficult with a more standard 4x4 but now it appears that you seem to think "this can be done, no problem".
Thanks so much! My confidence offroad has definitely improved and I seem to understand a little better what Bowser wants in certain situations in terms of input. I understand now why the Australian army spent so much time and money training the soldiers on how to use these beasts offroad - certainly different than a usual 4x4. Always room for a lot more improvement from me though :)
Last few videos I've been thinking "hmm why is Ang's accent getting thicker?". Realised my player is on 1.75x playback speed 😂 The island looks like a great place to visit!
Looks like a Hoop Pine. Many on Fraser. You will see hoops in the bark. Close together. Other huge trees with a spiral bark are Satinay. Will see many in Pile Valley. You probably have read that hundreds of Satiny were felled for timber to rebuild the whaves in London after WW2. Also lining the Suez Canal. I have a photo of a Satiny stump with 23 people standing on it and room for another 23. Just for interest there is a Tallowwood over 1000yo
As always a pleasant watch. Hey Chris, have you thought about what would happen if for some reason you could not drive? Would be good to see Ange doing some of the difficult stuff, something I am getting my better half to do……and she does enjoy it too so a win all round. Might inspire some of the macho’s to hand the wheel over and share the fun if they saw Ange having a crack.
I just don't see Ange getting a truck licence. She knows how to put it in gear and drive it but she doesn't enjoy it and it intimidates her. It's definitely something I would like her to do more practice on at some point. She loves driving a standard-sized 4x4
We bought some earmuffs in NZ but we forgot them there and had to re-order some in Aus but they didn't arrive on time for Fraser Island. We tried them since then but he didn't like them so he is wearing Chris' ones and sleep like a rock with them 🙌
Awesome video as usual, love my backyard. Pretty sure the tree was a Kauri Pine. Bowser is so capable, shows exactly why the army chose them, their only downfall is their overall height and sometimes their width. Keep up the awesome work
You build a BEAST !!!! At the start of the vid the way that the music change when the Mog dives in to the river was cool. The baby will be a spoter or a driver ? :):) Every episode of your tour is better and better... P.s. If you don' t mind, i would like to see some night shots with the roof bar lights on !!! Please... Be safe and happy as you are ! Respect from Greece
Nearly didn't start too well learning about that handbrake :) I came out in a new Ranger 2 days after you at night towing nearly 3 tonnes (canvas camper fully loaded) - and did it in a couple of hours and a bit without any big issue - it was s o f t. It is a tough track at times (more so in summer), but most issues come down to the driver rather than the vehicle and the Ranger (with a bit of extra tyre height) did the same holes with towing. You had a long day - I came across you 3 heading back West near the Eastern entrance and wondered if you'd taken a day to get across. The Raptor is more than capable of doing it easy too with same clearance.
@The OutFit the better under-body wash is at Tewantin however I'm not sure if the Mog would fit. Also, 2 years ago I was doing the Fraser Island clean up and we saw a guy going for a night run on the main beach just after nightfall. We drove past him and about 500m further on there were 2 dingos tracking him. We did a snappy turn around and picked him up and drove him back to his camp. Just be cautious mate..
I loved the video. I'm really interested if the Mog has any drawbacks so far in soft sand. The clearance no doubt stops underbelly drag and bogging down where conventional 4x4s with relatively narrow tyres dig in pretty fast. What are the Fraser Is drawbacks?
I think it's nemesis is going up really soft sand dunes. If we didn't have a camper on then you could do a big run-up and just send it but in our situation we need to protect our home so we have to keep speed low. Perhaps a larger turbo could help with that
@@TheOutFit Thank you for the response. Yes, the Mog's motor sounds like a slower revving 'lugging' energy, not that a turbo would speed it up, but as you inferred, give it more holding capacity rather than bogging down in soft sand. I look forward to your next videos.
Another great episode guys. I dont think Ive ever noticed you drop tyre pressures on the Mog. Is that something thats not required for this type of vehicle?
CHRIS,AND ANGE,HELLO,OAKLEY,is doing well, nice trip, but that soft sand,I wondered about, anyhow, you await your ferry back,,BOWSER will need a good fresh water wash, anyhow, take great care, GOD BLESS,,,till next time, 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇺🇸🇺🇸
He wears my earmuffs now. Unfortunately we didn't have any for Fraser. I left a pair specifically for babies in NZ by mistake. So we bought another pair and they didnt really fit while he was in his seat. All solved now 👍
Hi guys have you tasted the fresh water ? Check it out,it’s meant to be the cleanest water on Earth,I did but I will leave it up to you to make up your minds ,it really is unbelievable places an the fishing,a lot of shark on east coast,an stinger on west coast, it’s my favourite time of year for Fraser best weather in winter hahahaha winter take care I no you do thank you 🇦🇺🙂✌️🕊️
I have them wherever I can fit them really. Quite a bit of fluids in one rear tool box; my tool roll and engine oil in the garage and spare parts and fittings stashed in lots of nooks and crannies
How come you can fly your drone in a National Park ? Clearly against the rules that we are supposed to follow, how to get permission as I would like to do the same ?
Hey guys, have followed you for a while. I REALLY HOPE you will answer this. What do you think is cheaper - Your type Mog, or an Isuzu NPS 300?. How much do you think it costs to have the Mog rebuilt to your build standard ( minus the canopy)?.....
Glad to see you guys getting more comfortable with the softer tracks. Bowser ate it up. Monster!!!!!
Love the drone shot with the inset in this video
Thanks Frank for the nice feedback!
5 deg overnight here in Sydney. Nice to be transported out of it for a few minutes watching you. Thank you.
We remember the cold winters in Sydney! Hopefully you still get nice sunny and dry days :) hope you enjoy our next episodes and sunny locations!
As I said to you guys on your first outing, that beast will go anyway! And don't forget the driver and navigator!
Thank you so much Joseph for following along!
Thanks again fora great vid. You really did show of the island and gave me anew perspective of what it has to offer. Go the MOG 😊
Thank you Peter for watching and commenting, great to hear you enjoyed the episode!

Thanks a lot for the nice feedback!

incredible guys! love how you captured the natural sounds of the bush! and you got lake Mac on a good day, insane!!

Chris you now have Oakley learning spotting skills with Moms assistance.
The MOG is a torque monster. Deep loose sand ain’t nothing for it… Power-On 🤜
Teach them young 😄 thanks for watching Lou!
Love how your little co pilot is so cozy sleeping while you drive those tracks, awesome ❤
We were amazed he slept through the whole thing! Thanks for watching Kath :)
Great drive guys. I have been to Fraser many times, but never been over to the west coast, will definitely give it a go next time.
Thanks a lot Rob for watching and commenting! We are glad to hear we've encouraged you to explore this side of the island next time :)
Hey Guys, was nice to meet you in Kununurra. Hope you enjoy the Gibb. The little one is very cute by the way.
Last few videos I've been thinking "hmm why is Ang's accent getting thicker?". Realised my player is on 1.75x playback speed 😂 The island looks like a great place to visit!

Thanks Garry! A Hoop Pine.
We saw the Satinay's - has bark kind of like a Sequioa. Very cool!
Go the MOG!!! Great seeing you guys explore my fav place in Aus. Making me want to come back haha.
Great navigation, ❤😮😊 have to put that on a wish list, 😄

I was going to say i think that tree is Hoop Pine Tree. Great video !!!
Loving having you back into making videos! What pots & pan sets do you have?!
How do you think the babies ears are going with the noise in the cab from the engine 🤔 concerned for little Oakkly ❤
We bought some earmuffs in NZ but we forgot them there and had to re-order some in Aus but they didn't arrive on time for Fraser Island. We tried them since then but he didn't like them so he is wearing Chris' ones and sleep like a rock with them 🙌
@@TheOutFit so happy with that, thanks so much for your reply , 😊 great vid guy's happy travelling 😀

I think you're right regarding the Kauri Pine. I should have known that, they are in NZ too. Cheers!
Pretty sure the tree you are asking about is a hoop pine, Araucaria cunninghamii.
Looking at the bark and leaves its a norfolk island pine (Araucaria evergreen). Very nice video guys!

Thanks once again for this post, excellent
Passed a mog today that had the same box as you guys , unpainted and same series as your mog , very cool
What a weapon indeed! ...and well driven too! Just curious what tire pressures you ran through that soft stuff? It looked just right 👌
Thanks a lot! We dropped to 30 psi at the front and 35 psi at the rear, with the ability to drop further if need be.
Go the MOG 👍u would think the 80series would make it through there in the tractor mode tho 🤔

Nice vid on channel keep up the good vids thanks lee
Take every opportunity on Fraser to give the vehicle a bit of a fresh water bath.
Exactly! And a thorough clean back on the mainland :)

Jog with the dingoes. They just wanted to keep you company 🙄. They were waiting for you to get distracted to eat you.
Another great episode guys. I dont think Ive ever noticed you drop tyre pressures on the Mog. Is that something thats not required for this type of vehicle?
Thanks a lot! If you watch the first Fraser episode the first clip is Chris dropping tyre pressure :)
The location was just before Forbes N.S.W 😉

Hey nice work guys, how has your experience been with the height of your vehicle? Also how high is the Unimog with the camperbox?
Did you have the workgroup transmission on your Unimog? And did you use it on the sands at all?
No we haven't done the working group upgrade. Yes we've driven on sand plenty of times, check out our channel and other videos 👍
Chris think they are huen pines not shure 😮😮
Hoop pine at lake Allom
Does bub need earmuffs in the mog, or is it quiet enough?
He wears my earmuffs now. Unfortunately we didn't have any for Fraser. I left a pair specifically for babies in NZ by mistake. So we bought another pair and they didnt really fit while he was in his seat. All solved now 👍
hope it's rust proof or driving upstream into fresh water? great spotting, "give it a crack" u aussie maateee

I have them wherever I can fit them really. Quite a bit of fluids in one rear tool box; my tool roll and engine oil in the garage and spare parts and fittings stashed in lots of nooks and crannies
That tree looks the same as what we have in South Africa, it might be called a Monkey Puzzle. Not indigenous to us though. Enjoy!!!
😊💕
🇿🇦♥️♥️💙

I wished you only filmed the scenes and your journey without much talk to us viewers..
TH-cam isn't for you then, you should probably stick to Instagram reels
Hey guys, have followed you for a while. I REALLY HOPE you will answer this. What do you think is cheaper - Your type Mog, or an Isuzu NPS 300?. How much do you think it costs to have the Mog rebuilt to your build standard ( minus the canopy)?.....
What year Isuzu?
And do you mean built by a 3rd party or done diy by yourself?
Guys I recommend you do the bunya mountains ⛰️
