We want to apologize to all listeners struggling to fully enjoy this episode through headphones. This was our first emergency broadcast, and things got jumbled on the technical end, resulting in a stereo export rather than a proper dual mono. Please pardon this inconvenience and we’re so excited to cover Episode 4 of Talk Tuah next week!
@@TalkingTalkTuah honestly you guys tackled this challenge like pros. Dropping an emergency podcast on such short notice is auspicious of the trajectory of the podcast. We appreciate the apology though
I am in sheer awe at the length of this episode in comparison to earlier ones. I think it is a testament to your quality as hosts that the longer format has facilitated a greater depth and scope of analysis - as opposed to making you fall into the trap of rambling about unimportant details. Thank you for the refreshing watch! ❤
This is easily the best episode of the companion so far. I much prefer the energy of the dark window so we can just focus on what's important, the episode and not what is going on outside. And I think it really reflects in the added quality of the discussion.
loved all of the thought experiments this ep., a much deeper analysis than we've seen before. that's what makes you guys are the number one talk tuah discussion pod.
This is 2 straight hours of some of the funniest bits/improv I've ever seen. I don't know how you guys can stay so nonchalant but I was basically crying at times. Please keep it up you guys are so great
i listened to talk tuah on a whim on a long bike ride, now i cant stop. nearly every time im on my vigorous hour long 2,000 foot climb listening to haileys musings always makes it so much easier. thank you guys for covering this masterpiece
really appreciate that some of the wildest stuff is briefly mentioned but then fully uncommented on after, e.g. grandpa living in a shack in grandma’s backyard (????)
This episode is even longer than the episode under analysis! This clearly demonstrates that these two gentlemen are the perfect hosts for the official Talk Tuah companion podcast. I’m in awe of the depth of analysis presented here (especially by Peter). For instance, when Cam introduces the day-after-Thanksgiving scenario (cf. 1:01:38), Peter wisely refuses to engage until Cam provides a sufficient level of detail. After all, how could anyone predict the outcome of a meeting between a pure soul like Hailey Welch and a wretched, skinwalker-like creature such as Pookie’s ex? To Cam’s credit, he does provide the necessary details, setting up a compelling scenario. What intrigued me most was the fact that, in this scenario, Hailey encounters the degenerate oaf that is Pookie’s ex while potentially running on an almost empty stomach, having ordered only an iced latte from Dunkin’ Donuts. Would this be detrimental to the outcome? This is exactly what makes this podcast so good. Even after being presented with such incredible insights about the Talk Tuah podcast, I’m left with even more unanswered questions, which leaves me wanting more in hopes of having them answered. P.S. Cam really needs to stop with the Matt Rife stuff. Yes, he’s extremely talented and funny, but Hailey is with Pookie now (and let’s face it, probably indefinitely). Honestly, I feel like he’s not respecting Hailey’s traditional values when he keeps trying to inject Matt Rife into her love life.
Really excellent analysis as always. I'm only 18 minutes in so my apologies if you address this later in the episode: do you watch Talk Tuah together? In your discussion about the second big reveal this episode (this is a spoiler free comment) you mention you could "cut the air between us [sic]", implying you were together watching the episode for the first time. Also how many times do you usually watch an episode of Talk Tuah when writing an episode of Talking Talk Tuah?
First off, we’re roommates so we watch every episode together. We remain mostly silent through this preliminary watch through in order to keep our feelings as raw as possible. We’ll revisit certain stretches if anything felt too opaque. Thank you for your support, we’re looking forward to covering Hailey’s podcast endeavors together 🎉
I really like how you guys hilight the dichotomy between Pookie and Haliey. I don't know your names but I'm in the same camp as the brown hair guy i really can't see Haliey and Matt Rice "going the distance" so to speak. Hailey and Matt Rice just don't give me the same sense of balance, peace, and harmony that Pookie and Haliey do. Also consider: you have Pookie using his hands to repair and lay pipes (no pun intended let's be adults), and now you have Haliey making a living with her pipes through podcasting as a linguist. There could not be a better match in my opinion.
Look, I think that Haley and Chelsea would be a sapphic powerhouse and Pookie is self conscious about that. However I don’t think we should discount the thought that Pookie and Haley could open up the relationship and potentially include Matt Rife, which would really create waves within the LA social sphere.
Shoutout JoJo Siwa and DaBaby, very topical in relation to pookie ''Kelby Blackwell" and how he's extorting the far right demographic of Hailey's viewers (gooners in my humble yet conservative opinion).
Something about that chick becoming famous just pissed me off. I don’t care if she is a good person or any of that. We can’t make people famous because they said they suck dick ina a funny way while on someone’s livestream. Like what? And there is something about y’all making a satirical shadow of it is hilarious. I appreciate this, and I would actually approve of y’all becoming famous over this! There is a big difference, y’all are being creative about it! Too many influencers and creators put zero effort towards creatively the past year. The quality and level of content out there is soooo idk it’s just a wild free for all. I can’t comprehend how some stuff isn’t even popular or how some accounts even grow followers because the Ai generated nonsense they post is ridiculous.
On a serious note….haliey is the same every episode and has the same responses over and over and you never learn anything interesting about her guests. They were totally right when they (I dunno who they is) said that she would get old soon. I think she’ll always have some job opportunities but I don’t think it’s gonna be the gravy train she thinks for long
Matt Rife is probably one of the worst stand ups I have ever seen. His crowd work is good but his act is bad. I’m sorry but if you find Matt rife to be funny you’re most likely a teenager - and I’m not hating on that. I’m just saying, the joke structure, the concepts, the delivery, it’s all so elementary. It’s not even his fault. Netflix gave him a special too early.
I love how this is in stereo so it’s like I’m sitting in the middle of two modern day philosophers
Bro this is killing me right now😂
That's so weird.

I thought it was a intentional decision - it is honestly a very novel podcast audio experience. Maybe keep it. I like it.

The funniest thing of all time would be if this podcast gets more viewers than the actual one, praying for it
Couldn’t sleep all night thinking about the pookie dilemma and then you come at the perfect time with an in-depth analysis. Thanks for this.
Shaykh Muhammad, you have truly expressed the gratitude I had felt in my soul. May Allah reward you and guide Pookie and Hailey.
