It's a nice concept, but I feel like they should have made the weapon a staff that launches the the grenades instead, especially if they were the sticky variant that Infected Wolf Spiders use as mines.
Yeah but then they would need to make a new staff model and come up with a charged version of the shot instead of just plopping a re-used explosive fungus model into the existing Huck animation... 😅
@@literatemax the animation could be the same as the red staff, staff model is easy and doesn't really take that much time, and for the charged version you could have it do more damage

I wonder if the armor works better with bomb arrows. Maybe a ranged bombardment build. Perhaps it might affect turrets too. The broodmother bomb looks like it's more useful as a tool than a weapon. No more red ant egg farming. Dropping it under the tree stump to clear all the clay faster. Volatile Fang is okay I guess, but a trinket that added explosive damage type to all weapons would be more useful.
cool thing about the weapon is that you can block spam, shoot the weapon, aka the second you throw a nade, u block for a split second n then throw again, n u can toss quite a few before u run out of stamina
Ive noticed that the best way to use the new set is to use an unarmed build with unarmed master, spore lord, truffle tussle and the power droplet or, if you dont want to use that, use the volatile fang. Naturally youll still want a shield so you can parry and keep those bonuses from unarmed master up as long as possible. EDIT: Her weapon is useful for harvesting literally anything. The fact that the boss has never killed me but the weapon has killed me over 20 times. The damn thing needs to be sticky.
what they should do is make it so you are immune to your own explosions and if the bomb hits an enemy it sticks to them but if it hits the ground it will just bounce like normal
The new Mutation you get from killing the Infected Broodmother, Spore Lord, has a chance to give you stacking explosive damage resistance until the combat ends. It can also increase your explosive damage, movement speed, and health regen. These all fade once combat ends but stack exponentially.
I was able to easily kill a black widow with this set without cheeseing it, I used natural explorer for the speed to run, and it is now my favorite build in the game
imo the apex predator mutation should also apply to weapons you can only obtain via killing a boss, big one in my mind is the sour battle axe, as far as i can tell its pretty pointless as a tool and a weapon since nearly every enemy is neutral or resistant to sour, so having it have a buff with the mutation would be nice
if you're playing on custom turning off player damage disables you dying to your own explosives same for mild honestly, i feel like it needs a rework or buffs.
I dont know if he knows this but, usually when you die, the items you have equipped lose durability. It really makes the things he's using look bad when he dies and talks about how its lost that much durability since he started.
I feel like the moldy matriarch armor would work better with Truffle Tussle, lil fists, and the power droplet trinket, becoming some kinda crazy exploding monk build. Personally I'd treat the grenade more as just free splat bursts for farming things rather than combat purposes
Apex predator didnt do anything for the wasp queen bow until it came out of the testing branch, i assume it will be a couple weeks before they decide what the bombs do with it.
It's only food on a custom world with friends you can just huck it in there while a friend takes all the hits from like the black widow and stuff because it will help kill all of the widowlings

Also, it looks like you have to wait for the first one to explode before throwing the second, so no grenade spam? Looks straight up worse than just rocking a fire staff+wittle wizard and whatever armor you want. Also you keep bringing up durability, but you were wrong, you forgot you died twice and that wrecks durability
So to answer your question with clarity: no it's not worth it 😁 or not until they change it to be sticky bombs or exploding on impact with no damage to you 😁
Meh, lil fists rank3 + assassin and truffle with droplet trinket melts this boss. I just did it now. It was so fast kinda insane. Got also mantis trinket
Trinkets from the bosses are super easy to get since they added the stealing trinket, mutations and the stuffed mounts. I've got 7 infected Broodmother trinkets already and I've only killed her 4 times so far. The other bosses i have a bunch already too. It's crazy. I still need mint and sour trinkets then my trinket collection will be complete.
they either released this to be a weapon in which case its terrible and they need to add sticky + explosion resistance to the armor. OR they entirely released this as a tool in that case where is the broodmother boss weapon? is it the first boss to just give a tool? also as a tool its underwhelming because of its terrible durability. they nerfed it to the ground BEFORE release lmao

The trinket says you give your summons a 25 chance to explode for 70 damage on hit that also damages you. Can you show me where you are summoning minions plZ 😊
When you said the durability goes down quickly, just wanna point out you've blasted yourself with a high damage weapon multiple times and died multiple times

Id say this thing is best used against certain bosses and utility use for clearing areas quickly
The sleek effect should do something to prevent explosive damage done to you otherwise it feels useless compared to the other boss armors

When harvesting weed stems with this weapon it only drops 1-2 for me

The charm makes minion (spiderlings mant, wasp) do mini explosives

I repaired it before the Mantis fight. I didn't die to the Mantis. The weapon was at 40% durability after the Mantis fight.
