What gear should I use to kill her...
Minty toenail sword with the sword mutation so she deals less damage
Brood venom gives new armor
Defense badge and mite hat sleek for stamina, koi legs and chest with a ladybug shield and lil fist with truffle tussel to heal her (so you get more lil fist stacks for phase 2 and 3) then for phase 2 and 3 use full sleek mantis gear a fire ant shield the power droplet with chopper and smasher
Note: getting hit will delete your lil fist stacks so either block or parry I'd recommend re loading a save if you get hit
A boss sauce, liquid rage and spider slider is optional but recommended If you want it faster

I never thought I’d see a 3-phase fight in grounded. Awesome
Technically most of the fights are 3 phases but there's no visual cue and just added attacks.
@@samstark568 but that’s through a single health bar. Each phase HAS MORE HEALTH and its attack get faster and more unpredictable so no this one is very very different from the others 👍
Not to mention each of its three lives has their own phases

If you don't want to farm the food to spawn the infected broodmother you can dupe it in the oak lab. It will save you a lot of farming.
Or you can just dupe the moldy hogie

Cade a new Broodmother set is now out. Also the Infected broodmother has a 90% poison damage reduction, venom immune and 60% bleed reduction. So yeah, use a crit/lifesteal build.
Really my assassin build seemed fine from when I fought her didn't seem like it was reduced
Lifesteal has been nerfed now as well

Here’s a comment with everything Cade needs to keep in mind for builds and combat. Feel free to like it and add anything to this comment if I miss anything or mess information up. Okay, so: poison ended up getting several buffs. The duration is doubled, each tick of poison does more damage and both the Widow and Spider armor give even more poison damage than they did before. In addition, Mom Genes also has a poison damage increase along with it’s effect. The Broodmother now has a chestpiece and leggings for armor, with the whole set giving poison coating and venom coating if you Sleek upgrade it. It still has the Poison Nova effect it had before, but now it’s the set bonus instead of the Sleek upgrade for the mask, so keep that in mind if you want your Nova’s back. Punching is now viable again because both Lil Fist and the Power Droplet received damage buffs, with Lil Fist also getting an increased stun on punch attacks. The Mastery for Lil Fist now guarantees that for every punch you land, a second hit is guaranteed. The enemy gets control by the second hit though, so a good idea is two punches into a parry to have as much stun time as possible. Wasps in general are now easier to kill and fewer spawn in base attacks. Wasps are also now susceptible to poison, which plays in well with what I stated earlier. If you use Apex Predator with the Bard’s Bow, the Wasps that get summoned now do bleed damage on top of their poison. I know I’m missing a good bit, so feel free to add information to this comment for Cade to see so we can all watch him destroy the entire backyard. Full sleek broodmother armor or full sleek fire ant armor helps a ton against infected broodmother, also fresh scimitar and fungal trinket if you get lucky enough for the 1% drop rate. Unarmed power droplet build is also good against her just dont use truffle tussle because she heals from explosions
On the contrary, using Truffle Tussle on the first phase is an excellent way to build stacks of Lil Fist. Healing her during the easier first phase lets you build the stack for later phases.

The concept of this boss is terrifying and shows how much this fungus actually affects bigger bugs. AND THE FACT THAT IT REVIVES ITSELF... TWICE, WHAT IS THIS FUNGUS. IMAGINE IF THE OTHER BOSSES GOT THEIR HANDS ON IT. INFECTED WASP QUEEN COULD EXIST.
Infected mantis with a ground pound that makes a line of explosions. I want explosive crits.
I believe it’s cordyceps which affects the nervous system and brain (I think). Dr Wendell Tully talks about it during the hedge lab

Use a fresh toenail scimitar instead of a widow dagger/mint club, it helps SO MUCH. Also, corporate kickback bypasses the healing debuffs.
Nevermind, as of the current 1.2.3 patch realeased today corporate kickback no longer bypasses the health debuffs. Nevertheless, it should still be a massive help.
Shocking dismissal buff is actually pretty decent with toenail scim, the few seconds of stun you get is a lifesaver
If blitz and intern can’t beat her together it shows that Cade truly is our last hope to beat her
To be fair the game scales the more people you have. So it isn't super easy.

figured id give you a heads up since i have a similar base, if you get a flying enemy raid just reload your last save and move somewhere else before the raid restarts. they will just attack the bottom of your base and its pretty hard to deal with
Learnung the fight is so much more satisfying then a broken build, and even then, youll need immense skill. As a big dark souls/bloodborne/elden ring fan, this was easily my favorite boss. Gives me such good memories of the adrenaline rush of souls games

You should use the shield solidifier for the last phase, and you should have upgraded the toenail cimitar to FRESH instead of mighty.
hey I beat it. here are some tips.
1. Make the widow dagger fresh. The infected broodmother is weak to fresh. Use the sleek broodmother mask, sleek assassins chestplate, and bulky broodmother greaves (they're in the game now). have the suspicious mint cap for extra mint damage.
2. For mutations, use coup de grass, assassin, meat shield, mithridatism, and corporate kickback
3. drink every smoothie imaginable
4. use the red ant shield and really practice parries, as they will allow you to heal with corporate kickback.
5. you can parry a lot of the attacks, like the scream, but run away from the spore attacks and the gnat attacks.
6. listen to cool music
absolutely amazing I've been waiting since I saw the update. can't wait to see you beat it!

I may have not watched this fight before but for some reason I had the feeling that she would revive herself and go to a second stage it really surprised me it's a strange sensation it's like I knew she would revive but at the same time I didn't was that just me or did anyone else felt the same?
Okay, I didn't expected her to revive a second time. Also that "you've gotta be kidding me" when she revived the second time was amazing and funny as well as fitting for the situation it really conveys the disbelief in Cade's voice

if you haven't already, for your poison build make sure to equip "Mom Genes", they made it have increased poison damage
Recommendation for equipment:
1. Full max level sleek Mother Demon Armor (set bonus = Poison Nova)
2. Level 9 (Mighty) Bone Dagger (for chance of stun)
3. Trinket = Wittle Widowling (for summons)
Mutations:
1. Mithridasism (to Minimize received Poison damage)
2. Spicy Safety (acquired by eating Spicy Shards): reduces stabbing, smashing, and explosion damage.
3. Coup de Grass (chance of crit)
4. Trapper Peep.r (crit again)
5. Mansterious Stranger (Mant summon, need I say more?)
Potions:
1. Beefy Liquid Rage (Attack Boost)
2. Beefy Fuzz on the Rocks (Health Boost)
3. Beefy Waspidote (to cure and further resist poison)

I think there was a special mold spore trinket that protects pretty good against explosions

Use a level 9 FRESH toenail scimitar and the trinket that gives fungal explosion resist for phase 2 and 3. The badge that heals you on perfect block is really helpful for phase 1. The shield I like to use is the fire ant one that applies a bonus damage debuff. Also Corporate Kickback is a MUST.

The dagger with your mask and assassin armour is rediculously strong atm because you can hit almost every insect about 4-5 times and they will die
I was not expecting the tune from "Where is my hairbrush" while you were looking for pupas at the start, good video as usual! With just a sprinkle of nostalgia too so that was nice :)
You also have to make the rest of the regular broodmother gear. Equip that (sleek ofc) and equip the mom genes mutation to get a massive buff to your build.
Analyze normal broodmother venom, a full set will then be available :)

If you’re really worried about the dagger’s durability then you could always dupe it so when it breaks it’ll just automatically put the second one in your hand
Make the full normal brood mother armor and use the mint wepon it helps

Hi Cade, I’ve beaten this boss quite a few times, my usual to go is a sleek mantis set and a level 9 mighty toenail scimitar with blademaster and a ton of beefy smoothies, PS aslong as you hold the shield up you can block the scream attack, works for me.

Loved the soul of cinder theme starting un phase 2
Make sure to get the fungel trinket (it only drops from white fungel growth) it completely stops explosion damage

Hey Cade, the best way I’ve found to fight it, heal heal heal. Use fuzz on the rocks and bring hundreds of fiber bandages also bring some repair glue
I also figured out a way to get infinite scarab shells! Use the item stealing mutations and the sticky fingers accessory with no poison armor and punch the scarabs in the pipe until they are one hit away from dying, then run to the other end of the pipe, and they will gain their health back and you can steal 2 more shells, and repeat!!!
What weapon were you using at the start of the video?
You can make an infinite bratburst using the infected broodmother parts!

Punching build is good against the moldy matriarch but dont use truffle tussle. Also the punching effect stays through all phases. Highest multiplier I've got was 342x on the thing

Imagine if grounded had custom death animations for what you die to. Just the thought of the last thing you see before you die being the four purple eyes fading into darkness. That sounds actually horrifying.

Hey Cade. I’ve had best luck with Fire Ant Armor & Shield, Fresh Toenail Scim w/ Mint Trinket. Corporate kickback is a MUST for me personally with this boss fight.

One thing I realized. This is the only bug in the game that we see climbing on walls or ceilings like actual bugs, which is probably why it's so unsettling when she does it.

Yeah, fresh lvl9 widow dagger with a fire ant or ladybird shield is def a good loadout
You need the comedy badge cause when you block you can heal and not you your potions often
Assassin Armor and Punch Build and you can do the fight in under 2 minutes if you are lucky

If you want poison nova you need the whole set of brood mother gear and also put on mom genes
